This store opening so close to my home is like a dream! Although I know that many people shop here that don’t live nearby, too. I have an Etsy shop and am always in need of more yarn; I’m so happy that there is more yarn at A&C to choose from than before. I love that there are sporadic sales, too. Glad to support a local art shop!

I can’t put my finger on what is about this place. The mood, the fact that they are very well stocked, the people? I really love going there, sometimes just to wander around and get inspired.

Went here to pick up a frame and some mat board for a little project. It’s a great space that’s well laid out and chock full of basically everything you could need. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. Docking a star simply because of the prices, which are very high. If being local and good customer service is your primary concern(and it can be, that’s fine) this is a great choice, but don’t come here looking for great deals.

One of the best, well-stocked art stores I’ve ever been in! With good prices, too. Service is great as well, the staff are friendly and helpful if you aren’t sure where to find what you’re looking for. I could spend hours just wandering around all the supplies. Or, well, I *have* spent over an hour wandering around, trying pens and picking up supplies. Highly recommended and worth a trip out to Brooklyn, if you’re not from the neighborhood.

A relatively new store in the area. As a professional illustrator and comics artist I’m always looking for an alternative to the utrechts of the world. A & C Supply are extremely well supplied. The selection is excellent, although slightly pricey in some areas. Really great staff. Definitely a place I’ll visit regularly.

Great selection for all of your craft needs. A pretty good mix of professional supplies, as well as things for your crafter just starting out. When I asked for help, the employees behind the counter were available for my needs. This place is definetely worth the trip [it’s not too close to any subway].

I could easily spend a fortune here and it’s not because of high prices. Their prices are quite reasonable, and thus I feel compelled to spend even more because 1) it’s cheaper here than anywhere else and 2) they have a great selection of just about any crafting desire you have. Let your inner art nerd out. The staff is really nice and helpful. They have a 10% discount for all teachers and students.

They got so much stuff. I hardly need to leave the neighborhood for art supplies any more. The folks who work there know stuff about art supplies(what are the odds?) and even a thing or two about art.

This is a dream come true, living so close by to such a great art store. I could spend my whole salary here – the staff is very helpful and was knowledgable about pens and willing to chat. Their crafts and items for kids were adorable and I will definitely be back because they sell such a great variety of calligraphy and brush pens. I bought a huge 11×17 hardcover sketchbook for a great price, too.

A thoroughly stocked shop, no doubt, though I found myself being made somewhat uncomfortable by some of the staff. I went in as suggested by professional painter friend of mine whom couldn’t speak highly enough of the place, though upon walking in and orienting myself as to the layout, where things were, etc. I had a strange sensation as though I were being watched… suspiciously. When I asked where certain things were, I detected some reservation as if I’d interrupted the staff from their work. After finding what I was looking for I proceeded to the check-out and was met with an almost over-enthusiastic graciousness, as if compensating for being so speculative of my patronage. As one young woman behind the counter was removing items from a box the manager rang up my sale, curiously I received a series of sharp glances from the young woman for no detectable reason whatsoever. As my total was revealed, it was a much higher amount than I expected. I put some items back and during that minor adjustment I was charged for one of the items I’d not purchased. When I went back two days later, the transaction was simple enough to rectify, though I was met with a strange feeling that I had been in the wrong and that I had made the transaction confusing; As well, the same young woman was behind the counter and kept shooting me the same sharp glances. Now I’m sorry, but I’d never set foot in this place before, therefore had no prior experience, positive OR negative, thus the staff had no basis for personal bias, yet there it was, plain as day. I was dressed as appropriately as any rainy day would allow and by no means appeared homeless, though the energy I felt was a though I was ‘casing the joint’ and couldn’t reconcile their rationale. Either you treat every person that walks through your door as a respectable customer and hire people that innately understand and represent that basic human/retail trait or you find yourself another line of work. Grow up…

I just had a somewhat disappointing experience at A&C. As a former employee of A&C, it’s kind of shitty. I’m pretty sure I got ripped off by the salesclerk because after I left the store, I checked the price online of the paper I bought(and I actually checked beforehand) and it was approx 8 $ less than what I was charged. Unfortunately, I need the paper to finish a project and I didn’t feel like arguing with a salesclerk on my Sunday. They seemed to get very defensive when I said what price I had seen. I’m very perturbed. This experience will make me have second thoughts about going back.

Wow! I thought I was dreaming. Huge selection, everything you would need. This area really needed it. The employees were super nice and cool. They had a great sale on Golden paint, I am going back soon.

Great to be able to get everything I need without dragging myself into Manhattan(and paying through the nose). Very thoroughly stocked. Great location, easy parking if you drive. Friendly staff. Prices are in line with the standard for the New York area.
