Avellino is fantastic. After my favorite tailor in South Brooklyn retired I was looking for someone new. A good tailor can make a cheap suit look good and a good suit look excellent. As a lawyer, I have to know these things. He took a couple of suits that I had brought and tailored them to the nines, to the point where the off the rack suits looked made to measure.

I found Avelino on Unilocal in search of last minute alterations. I didn’t want to chance bringing my clothes to the dry cleaners to have them tailored. He was willing to accommodate me right away which was such a relief. His friendly, witty demeanor had me feeling comfortable from the jump.
He did an awesome job on the pantsuit, dresses and a vintage fur that needed a lot of help.
I will definitely use him again and refer him to all my friends and acquaintances. He gives you quality work. I’ve found my tailor!

I just moved to Crown Heights and am so happy to find Avellino! He’s accommodating, does an excellent job, and his prices are reasonable. He was nice enough to rush some things that I needed tailored in time for a trip.
It’s not easy to find a good, affordable tailor, but I can’t recommend him enough.

Tailoring is merely the finish of skills with fabric that Avellino possesses. From stitches, darts, hems, to intricate detail, embellishing, bias cutting, draping, and beyond, his precision with alterations and bespoke, for women and men, is artful, his prices accommodating, he makes pieces frame attractively. He transformed a size 10 Milly NY dress to my size 4 still retaining the wrap-​over top bodice. He reworked a Rebecca Minkoff ornate bib dress to fall properly across, near-​custom, to my collar and shoulders. And even though it irks him to do menial resew of clothing tags, he does so because this fashion lover must have her labels. Great European couturiers list Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Paul Poiret, but Trinidadian-​born, Brooklyn-​based, Avellino Alfredo, also measures up as a master of threads. He is a fellow lifelong ardent follower of fashion, a bredren friend, and dear to my wardrobe.
