Keep coming back here for bagels and i like their coffee. Highly recommend this place in neighborhood for bagels, muffins, coffee and etc.

So this is the second time I ordered from this place. Let me just start off by saying I like to order from different breakfast places to find what I like best. I ordered the gluten free bagel and an omelette platter. First of all, the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude. Did not seem to care about detail as she almost got my address wrong twice. Second, she took down my order correctly, but failed to deliver the correct order. The food– bland and ill prepared. I really don’t like giving bad reviews because I know this hinders future customers, but really, save your money. This meal was by no means worth $ 15 and especially after getting the wrong order. When calling back, the same woman had a condescending tone as I recited to her what she had written. She then sighed, and reluctantly agreed to send me what my order was missing. Pathetic, guys.

I placed an order for a delivery today, a dozen bagels with cream cheese and other assorted items. The bagels were so flat they looked like flagels! I’m not even joking. I’ve had their bagels a few times, I tried to give the place a chance, I just don’t like them. The bagels seem over done and hard-​ish. I’m sticking with Bagel Villa,

Just enjoyed another delicious sesame bagel sandwich. Special thanks to the Ladies at the checkout counter who were so pleasant with such welcoming attitudes and lovely smiles.

Fresh bagels tasted and smelled delicious. Had mine classic NYer style; Poppy seeds bagel, lightly toasted with cream cheese and lox in it. Will be back.

I really like this please because it is one of the nicer bagel shops in the area. They also have many bagels which is a big plus. It can get crowded at prime morning afternoon times on the weekends. The coffee is also pretty good and they had a lot of in-​house made desserts.

They’re ok once in awhile they make a good bagel but I noticed middle of day they just run out which is weird and they’ll only have some specific bagels left, I like their black and white bagels plus they got a great seating area it’s small but comfortable, there’s plenty of places to get bagels from on 3^rd ave but if you’re far from bagel boy and don’t feel like traveling that far then bagel schmagel isn’t a bad choice

Bagels are excellent, if you get there early in the morning. I think they only cook up a single batch, so as the day goes on they dry out a bit — still tastly, but chewy. By noon, you’ll want them to toast it. At some point, the unsold ones get bagged and you’ll find them on the shelf, tagged as «Ugly Bagels». At four for $ 2, they’re a good deal, provided you know how to revive a stale bagel at home. (Microwave, then toaster.)
There’s a nice selection of egg sandwiches and omelettes. Coffee is generic meh, which is unfortunate since it detracts from an otherwise great breakfast. And the ordering and paying can get chaotic when they’re busy — lots of identical-​looking paper bags being handed to the checkout person, who has to figure out which bag belongs to which customer.

Ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches from here on Seamless at 9 am on a Sunday with a promised delivery of 10 am. 10 am no food, called up, promised that they will be there within 10 minutes. I told them that I had to leave the house at 10:30 and was assured that the food would get here before then. 10:30 no food, called up again and was told he will be there momentarily. Left my house at 10:45 and food still wasn’t there. Called seamless to cancel and Bagel Schmagel didn’t want to issue a refund. Received a call at 11:10 from delivery guy who is downstairs. Never again

Ever since moving to the neighborhood, I’ve been trying almost every bagel shop along 3^rd avenue. So far, this is my least favorite one because the people who work here have no sense of order. Worst of all, the lady at the cash register (I assume is the boss) has some serious hearing problems. I told her I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese and she kept asking me if it was plain. I said «No.» But she proceeded to charge me for something I did not order, which she thought I ordered an extra plain bagel on top of my original order. Don’t know how that happened but I didn’t want to argue with her so I ended up with an extra plain bagel. As far as the quality of the bagel, they’re small and stale. Also, their coffee is watered down. Very disappointed.

I don’t know how this place stays open the bagels are hard and the staff of so rude. There’s a old lady behind the counter who thinks she’s 20 years old and she’s so rude and nasty I would never go here again. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese and they put cream cheese on it. Disgusting!!!

What a wonderful place to come in buy Fresh coffee and hot bagel before going to work. I give five star because it’s welcome and clean.

Very good bagels with many available choices. They also serve a variety of other baked goods like muffins, cupcakes, cookies, and more. The everything bagel with plain cream cheese is terrific.

my first time here today! I walked in and saw it was packed. my first thought: «great now I gotta wait…» you know what though? the line moved quickly. you could see that all the staff was busting their butts to please the customers. billy Joel playing over the speakers also helped.
I got an ice coffee and a pumpernickel bagel with the maple walnut and radon cream cheese. SUPER YUMMY. the coffee wasn’t the typical stump town which is so refreshing. stump town is so overrated and too acidic.
this charming little bagel shop is the epitome of neighborhood charm, BAY RIDGE STYLE! they have a wide array of items for sale with yummy coffee. you will not be disappointed. trust me.

I love this place for breakfast but am used to the chaos by now. I will agree the layout and ordering line is not intuitive, and when you aren’t a regular like me they ask you to repeat your order multiple times. They’ve never messed up my order when I go in person, I have not ordered online or over the phone though.
The blueberry bagels are my favorite and frankly, there aren’t many places you can get blueberry bagels in Brooklyn (it took me a long time to find them — Bagel Boy doesn’t always make them). I have tried the sesame and cranberry-​walnut variations but nothing is as good as the blueberry in my opinion. While the sandwiches are a bit pricey, the breakfast ABC is my favorite — it comes with avocado which compliments the saltiness of the cheese and egg very well.
The coffee is always scorching hot when I order it and have to wait for it to cool down. This is good for those who order their breakfast on the run and don’t want to drink it right away.
I can fault this restaurant for very little and will continue to get my blueberry bagel fix when need be.

With $ 4 Levelup credit and Unilocal deals, who knows how they’re hanging on, but super friendly staff here, though an awful choice with the doughnoli (which the staff raved about), cannoli cream in one had turned, and the other was bland. and the donuts were incredibly dry.

There bagels are always fresh and really yummy, I am obsessed with the French toast bagel and the Schmagel Bagel. I also get their frappé with cream, it is always on point.
Idk why everyone is so upset about the service they always smile and say thank you. Clearly you have never stopped before work at an upper east side bagel store, a busy chaotic line is quite normal in NY?!?

First of all, If you’re not a regular here, you would not know the ordering process of this place, and there’s no line system, you order your bagels in the back by the deli counter, then order your drinks in the front counter, or vice versa, and pay in the front when everything’s ready, when it gets busy, everyone’s just waiting around and you have to politely ask if others before you have already ordered! What a hassle!
Secondly, there’s been a price hike on everything, and there’s extra charge for butter! Friend ordered a small latte but were given and charged for the large.
With everything said, bagels are still good! I just won’t go regularly since I dont’ want my wallet to shrink like my skinny jeans!

We noted that many critical reviews had to do with takeout and/​or delivery orders, so we went in person to check things out. No complaints: the bagels are good and chewy. I ordered mine with fresh lox & tomato and the guy behind the counter made a great sandwich after asking if I wanted it toasted. The French roast coffee was good, the scallion cream cheese was, well… creamy.
The older woman cashier was pleasant, though people accustomed to American service over-​politeness might not understand that not everyone subscribes to the absurdity of that school of thought. Initial «rudeness» can be overcome by eye contact, a smile and understanding. So would I return here? In a heartbeat! Would I order by phone? Um, not too sure about that one. But I left happy.

I feel bad that some people have had poor experiences here, because I’ve had nothing but pleasant visits!
I’ve been to Bagel Schmagel three times. Once I ordered one dozen bagels and coffee, and everything was great. My only complaint is that all the bagels were put in the same bag, resulting in some of my sweet bagels (cinnamon, blueberry, etc.) having a faint garlic taste from my garlic or everything bagel.
The next two times I visited, I got bagels with tofu cream cheese and lox. The bagels were loaded with toppings, so I was really full after having one. The taste is out of this world and the tofu cream cheese is soft and appetizing, unlike some other tofu cream cheeses that I’ve had before.
I love Bagel Schmagel and I will be a regular customer of theirs.
