I was automatically assigned to them by my insurance company due to their proximity to my address, but I am done trying to deal with this place. The office staff and nurses are always nice and friendly, but the wait times are extraordinary, and I do not have any confidence in Dr. Harold Simon as a doctor. After being his patient for two years, receiving mediocre care and bizarre service, such as having to come in twice for standard yearly physical exams — once to take my blood and talk to the doctor, and a second time for the actual exam, and for some reason need to have my height and weight measured both times a week apart — the last straw was when he left the office twice during our conversation to attend to personal matters and never followed through on a prescription I needed. Now, a month later, I get a confusing, nearly illegible message about payment for that last visit when I didn’t actually receive the health care that I needed!

I waited over 2 hours before I saw an actual doctor. Co-pay is cash only, so be prepared to be sent to the nearest ATM one avenue over if all you have is a card or a check, because they won’t move forward until they are paid. The exam room did not inspire confidence(holes in the wall). Blood was taken in a little nook with no door or curtain. This is almost funny: there are actually two separate waiting areas. One up front for the first hour, one a little farther in for the next 45 minutes – after you’ve paid the co-pay, but before you’re seen(by a med student first). The doctor was fine.

I’m actually sitting in the examination room now. I’ve been here for almost two hours. The waiting room took about 45 minutes, even though the receptionist I spoke with on the phone said I’d be able to be seen right away. Then I was taken to a dirty back room to have my measurements taken by a nurse. There were crumpled up tissues on the floor and weird stains on the walls. When weighing me, the nurse looked at the scale(digital) and wrote a completely different number on my chart. She also wrote that I was 5’11″, when I know I’m 5’8″. She also asked me how I would like to pay my copay. I said I would pay with check or card. She then old me that they only take cash. WHYDIDYOUASKMEHOW I’D LIKETOPAY?!? Now I have to come back at a later date to pay. Then I got walked to the examination room, which smells terrible. I was questioned by two med students who asked me a ridiculous amount of questions. At 5:05 they said the real doctor would be right in. It’s currently 6:05. If I ever get out of this place, I’m never coming back.

Like the other reviewer, I’ve had to deal with extended waits from this office on occasion and it is really irritating when it happens. But the doctor is great. He actually take time to talk to you. And the office is very flexible with scheduling. I was walking by and walked in to make an appointment. Instead of scheduling me for later that week, they saw me right away. Every place has its pros and cons. Every doctor I’ve seen since I moved to NY has been totally unapologetic about making me wait hours later than my scheduled appointment time. Compared to that this office is actually pretty good and it has the added benefit of treating you like a real human being and listening to you rather than getting the top three symptoms, throwing a prescription at you and ushering you out the door like most doctors do.

Go to this doctor if you enjoying waiting. Last week, I went to my first appointment and I waited for about an hour before I had to say something to the lady at the desk. They told me there was about 4 people ahead of me. Then, I had to be rescheduled to a day where I would be the first one to see the doctor. So I showed up this morning and the lady at the desk tells me that there’s one person ahead of me. After waiting for about 45 minutes, I got up and left. I will never go back to this place ever again.
