This place is a total nightmare. I used them for the first time while
My grandma was in the hospital and I tried to schedule a pick up for three days. They kept saying they would arrive and NEVER showed. They never came when they said they would. They started an altercation with me and said they didn’t want my business even though THEY were the ones who screwed up. I’m totally disappointed. I would never use them again. My grandma straight up died while I waited for them to deliver laundry and they never came. I’m Appalled.

The people at Berry Cleaners are the best. They’re professional, efficient, and sincerely care about doing the right thing for their customers. I have taken my dry cleaning here for over three years. In fact, when I moved apartments, I chose to walk a bit extra to bring my clothes to Berry Cleaners instead of using a closer business. They have dry cleaned everything from my husband’s custom suit to our handmade quilts. Once, I brought a knit vest with a missing snap button to get dry cleaned. The missing button was an annoyance, but I was too lazy to fix it.
When I got my vest back, I found a new, functioning snap button in place. They did not have to go the extra mile to fix it for me, but they did. I will always appreciate it!

These guys have been my go-​to dry cleaners for the past 3~ years, and not once have I had an issue with a dress shirt, suit, sweater, or anything else I’ve gotten cleaned here. They’re very nice, professional, and they remember my face every time. Also they do free drop-​off. Can’t recommend this place any more highly.

Berry Cleaners provides the best service I’ve experienced in New York City, and I’ve been to several cleaners. Bong is my dude. He’s personable, fun, considerate, and is always there for me when I need something impossible done quickly. I’ve had everything cleaned here, from shirts to dresses to jackets to blankets. Berry Cleaners has also saved several garments of mine from death with clutch alterations, patches, and other alchemy. This is the spot, y’all.

My building sends clothing from 200 apartments to these people. Despite the frequent destruction of shirt buttons during their messy pressing process, I continued using them because it was convenient (building pick-​up). Then I got a brand new shirt back completely bled through. No explanation. I tried calling and sent the shirt back for them to inspect it. No word for two weeks. When I called the guy kept changing his tune. First, it was the shirt’s fault that it bled in the washing machine. When I asked how come none of my other shirts in the same load bled, he said that they actually dry cleaned the shirt, even though I specifically told them I don’t want dry cleaning. He hang up on me and refused to offer any compensation, not even the courtesy of a refund for my bill. Such poor service. I will walk out of my way to use a different cleaner and urge people in my building to stop using this.

I never had an issue and they always get out whatever stain I bring them. The guy that works the counter, presumably the owner, seems to know most customers by name — which is always a nice touch. I also get clothing tailored here — again, no issues.
Their machines are on premises, which helps them accommodate rush request.

Have been doing dry cleaning here for over 1 year with no issues and good service.

This place does an excellent job with DRY CLEANING. I have tried almost every place in the neighborhood, and I have had problems with all of them ruining clothes, returning clothes that smell badly, not adequately removing stains, shrinking my dry cleaning (how?), losing clothes, etc. Berry has nailed the DRY CLEANING every time. Their ironing and starching is immaculate — for a girl who hates wrinkles, they are perfect.
Their LAUNDRY, however, is a different story. The first bag I sent out came back smelling like a house on fire (not a fire pit — like the dryer next to the one my clothes were in actually lit on fire and my clothes were spared but filled with chemically-​smoke). With the advent of dryer sheets, there is NO excuse not to return laundry that smells like fresh laundry, rather than burning charcoal. Horrible.
Stupidly, and out of laziness, I sent in a second batch of laundry. This came back with all of the complaints set forth above, but on top of that half of my clothes actually had BURNED HOLES in them. Singed edges and all. I think the dryer ACTUALLY CAUGHT ON FIRE. I was shocked. On top of that, three of my cotton dresses that had been put in dryers many times, that i bought too big taking into account they would shrink, came back so small they would not fit a child. This should not happen to old clothes.
Basically, unless you want a place that will leave your clothes in a fire pit and send them back midget-​sized, do not use this place for laundry.
But the dry cleaning is good!

I think there must be new management as i see some very bad reviews. So far everything I have had cleaned/​tailored worked out well. No complaints. Don’t know if I am a lucky exception or if things have changed for the better.

I was very satisfied with the customer service. I needed 2 dress shirts cleaned– same day service– they did it in 4 hours. Then I was running late to pick them up, so they offered to deliver it. They were very prompt and efficient.

The worst cutomer service I have ever experienced in my life. They lost over $ 500 worth of clothing and will do nothing to rectify the situation. They are rude rude rude and theives. I highly recommend finding other dry cleaners in the area. Besides, they are extremely expensive is only icing on the cake.

Just wanted to say I’ve used them several times over the last year and a half for dry-​cleaning only and always been satisfied with the results. They are a bit expensive but so are my clothes so I want them taken care of.

Today, I had a breakdown! I’ve never been treated so poorly by a customer service business and overpriced as well!
I took a friends (very expensive) dress to have it cleaned and hemmed before a wedding. The beautiful dress had a permanent jeweled brooch-​like accessory attached to the top.
I picked up my dress and the jewel was BROKEN! A whole side of it. I brought it back immediately and pleaded that we needed to find the missing piece so that I could do what I could to fix it. They said it wasn’t their fault, they didn’t do it, and they only hemmed and never cleaned so it couldn’t have POSSIBLY been their fault. Listen, I brought it to them perfectly perfect and when I took it home it was broken — how was it not their fault? (By the way they had in fact charged me for dry cleaning of the dress).
The most frustrating part was that they didn’t even acknowledge my pain. They said «i am not going to repeat myself — you are not getting a refund — just report to the Better Business Bureau. I have other things to do now.» This is after I paid over $ 80 with them, just this week.
I was livid. I asked to speak with the owner. The owner came out and acted again like he also had other things to do. He said again, he didn’t do it, there was nothing he could do and I was not getting a refund.
But it wasn’t about the money. It was about their attitude, it was about their lack of acknowledgement and their sense to not care about me the customer, who has just destroyed her borrowed friend’s expensive dress.
I can’t, I can’t I am done!
I plead you to STAY away!

I’ve been taking my clothes to Berry Cleaners as long as they’ve been open. At least 100 dollars a week of laundry and dry cleaning.
If I were writing this review just an hour ago, I would have given them 3 stars: nothing horrible, but nothing to write home about.
— the guy who runs the store is very rude. whenever i call for pick up, or drop off my clothes, he acts like he’s doing me a favor for taking my business (i’ve been writing this off to cultural differences)
— they tore a $ 200 theory skirt from my favorite suit a few weeks ago and told me it was my fault (well. it was old, so i let it slide)
— when you call for pick up or delivery, be prepared to wait. they never show up when they say they will
BUT tonight was just BLOWN AWAY by how little they care about having my (rather significant) business. I had my laundry (wash-​n-​fold) and dry cleaning picked up on Tuesday. They were sorted into separate bags. The wash-​n-​fold bag had two cheap synthetic fleece blankets in it.
Today, I call to have my laundry delivered. I always pay by credit card and they have it on file. Usually the guy tells me how much it is, but tonight he didn’t. I figured he was busy and I know how much it usually is, anyway.
When my laundry showed up, the blankets were hung up on hangers, in dry cleaning bags. The ticket price? $ 30. They didn’t COST half that much to begin with!!! Oh, and they’ve happily washed them in the past.
I called and politely asked him to give me my money back. He told me they made a special note on my account that it would be extra. I asked if he called me. He said no. I asked him to take off the charge beyond what it would cost for regular wash-​n-​fold. I weighed them. They were 7 lbs.
He refused. He told me that this is how much they cost. I reminded him that I bring him at least $ 100 worth of business a week. I told him I would call my credit card and dispute the charge. He didn’t care.
I hung up. He called me back, still arguing, told me he would give me back $ 10. I asked him if he was the owner or the manager. Of course, he’s the manager. I asked him to have the owner call me back so I could tell him that for 13 extra bucks, they lost $ 400 worth of monthly business. He hung up.
He called me AGAIN. To «explain» that «even in Chinatown», they cost this much. Dear God, man, really?! Really?! $ 13!!! Do you know ANYTHING about customer service?
I never share my Unilocal reviews but I’m tweeting this. Oh, and I did call my card to dispute the charge. I look forward to hearing from the owner.

Dry cleaners are supposed to clean your clothes, not destroy them, and I’ve had three garments ruined by this dry cleaner: two sweaters and one dress. My dress came back from Berry Cleaners five sizes bigger than when I bought it, and the two sweaters were stretched out beyond belief in the arm and body areas. I have no idea what they’re doing to the clothes back there, but it seems like they’re using the rack to torture them.
When I complained, they did take the dress and one of the sweaters in as best they could, but they’ll never fit like they did originally. It’s so incredibly frustrating. I’m never going to this place again, and you shouldn’t either.
