The store owner e is very stand offish and doesn’t greet you when you come in. When I walked in she stared me down like I was annoying her. Then when I did get the opportunity to speck to her lets just say she is no rude but not kind either. the store is a mess good luck finding anything. Oh and if you make her pull out a piece of fabric or anything and don’t purchase it she will talk about you when you leave. To sum it all up messy store, meh customer service Umm Beware

This small store is a treasure– buttons of every kind, zippers, thread, fabric, patterns and more– Deal with the small store, irregular hours(just call). You don’t go to a trimming shop for it’s ambience! We’re so fortunate to have this store, brimming with choices, in our neighborhood.

This is one of two fabric shops I go to when I’m desperate. The women that run the shop aren’t necessarily bad or unkind. They are they only shop in my area that sells patterns though and that is a mess. I don’t like shopping there it is very cramped and dusty, the variety isn’t there either but again this is a trimmings shop. I also can’t stand the hours. I have no idea when they are open.

I have no patience for a business that has ZERO respect for their customers. Why bother posting store hours when you have no intention of showing up to be open during those hours? I’ve made 3 attempts to visit this place and it is simply never open when I’ve stopped by, despite the hours posted on the door. HUGEFAIL.

Wonderful Shop! I called ahead to see if they carried the type of fabric I was looking for and by the time I arrived; they had pulled the most beautiful print for me. I highly recommend this store!

Very nice and helpful ladies! It’s one of the very few local craft shops that still remain.

Great local trim/fabric store. The only good one in the area

Upon first entering this little shop, you might feel a bit claustrophobic; if you’re patient, though, you’ll probably find what you need among the forest of five-foot-tall fabric rolls without having to make a trip to Manhattan. It worked for me!

Beverly is such a nice and sweet lady(I didn’t ask for her name but I think it’s her store). I came in looking for a shade of blue fabric dye. She had 3 colors: indigo, light blue, and turquoise. So at $ 3.49 a pop, I decided to buy all 3. This mom and pops fabric shop is filled with fabric stuff and accessories. I love places that know their inventory and be informative with providing great customer service.

Finally, emergency YARN available in the area of my house, not in some bizarre unreachable area that takes two buses and a train plus 10 minutes of walking to get to. Some cotton, a lot of acrylics and nice help. If you sew this place is heaven, if a bit of a cramped heaven. Nothing fancy, but practical and is closer than anything else. BTW, Bay Ridge and Bath Beach, you FAIL for your lack of yarn and craft shops. Wish they’d stop building banks, cell phone stores and Rite Aides and give us something nice once in a while.

I went to this shop because I live in the area and wanted to support local business. Boy, what a mistake!!! The shop is so small and overcrowded that you can’t even really look at the material. There were about five people working in this store and crowding around the counter. I felt like I was in the way, especially when one of the«sales people» pushed me out of the way to get to the fabric. It happened to be a warm day, and it was completely unbearable due to the size of the store and the number of people that pushed past me to get in and out. They cut my fabric and draped it all on the floor! Not to mention it was extremely expensive! Almost $ 5/yd for muslin!?! I would never go back! Not friendly, very expensive, and a dizzying experience…

This store is great. There are bolts of fabric every where you turn. Luckily you do not have to go through it all if you have an idea of what you want in mind. The staff is very helpful and will lead you in the right direction. Prices are really reasonable and I always find something unexpected when I go there. FYI: The shop is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

This quaint store has tons of affordable, interesting fabrics, buttons, and thread. Everything is piled up willy nilly, which makes one feel like she’s in card house made of teetering sheafs of fabric. But there is method to the madness. The employees were very pleasant, sifting through everything and helping me as best they could. Sadly, this store is not the best place to find fabric for a smashing cyber clubbing dress. However, I will be back here to get supplies for my more traditional sewing projects.

Here are some of the reasons why I love love love Beverly Trimming: The couple that run the store are extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgable. Remnants go for $ 1 or so, and they have decent sale items. For-reals vintage wooden spools of thread for under a dollar.(It may not be a full spool of thread, but there are some great colors, and if you’re a sucker for wooden spools like I am, this is a bonus point.) Great prices on everything, including vintage fabrics. The wall of boxes of buttons. An entire wall. Vintage fabrics at great prices! For a small shop, they have a comprehensive selection of notions. Yarn! Knitting needles! Felt!(By the sheet and by the bolt!) Plastic canvas! Lace! Trimmings! Ribbon! What don’t they have in that mysterious(and evidently bottomless) back room?
