Brooklyn Brows

I’ve come here a few times just because it is close to where I live. Usually when I get my eyebrows threaded my face feels clean and fresh. However, the handful of times I’ve gotten my brows done here, I have never felt like that. And on my walk home, I am usually thinking — my face does not feel great.
Today was no exception to that feeling. In fact, today I walked home thinking — my eyebrows feel really crooked. I just wanted my eyebrows cleaned up, not reshaped. I looked in the mirror, and they looked crooked. I wanted the girl to clean up the top, and she cleaned up the bottom. I looked at my face again, the arches were uneven. I had her «fix» it. Looked in the mirror, and I just kind of gave up, because my eyebrows were getting thinner each time I had her fix something. My eyebrows are a completely different shape and a whole lot thinner then how I came in.
I thought I would give this place the benefit of the doubt, even though I never came out feeling great. But today was the last straw.

My go to brow spot! Super close by to wear I live, which makes it even better! The ladies who work there are super nice and are willing to hear you out on how you want your brows. Even if you don’t explain to them, they end up making them still look great! Love this place!

So, I’m not going to lie… I’m feelin’ myself after stopping by Brooklyn Brows.
Don’t get it twisted, it definitely looks sus[pect] from the outside, but she actually did a really good job on my brows. Granted, I had been growing them for a few weeks, but I have super sensitive eyebrows with zero amounts of act right. Translation: My brows do what they want.
I would’ve given five stars, but the lighting in here is off, and I couldn’t tell that she’d missed a few pieces of peach fuzz on my upper lip until I got to my car. I went back in, and they were super diligent the second time, though, and I didn’t get any attitude, which means a lot.

Really messed up my eyebrows– the lady with the blue toenail polish plus she barely made eye contact. My first visit was great– with Saira… Should have waited to see her… Now I have to grow them out despite just asking for a cleanup

AVOID!!! I asked for a clean up but what I got were two shapeless lines that I’ll have to fill in with a pencil until the brow grows back. The lady actually left them a tiny bit thicker at the ends were they’re supposed to be thinned out. I wish I’d read the comments before I showed up. What’s worse is that they’re not even friendly. I’ve had shady pluck jobs that looked better than this.

I took over a year off this place after they screwed up my eyebrows in Sept 2013, and said oh maybe they had a bad day and out of convenience started coming back. cut to yesterday, where I go back for my 4^th thread/​wax combo (I wax the big area underneath and go back with thread to clean up because ish hurts) I’m in the chair for under 60 seconds when I feel it. The girl ripped off HALF my eyebrow. From the arch down, there are 5 hairs left. You don’t know this about me, but my brows USED to be ‘on fleek’ and were kinda what I was known for. When I sat up and saw it, I immediately got flushed and upset. She at first said they looked fine and then said she’d ‘make the other side even’… no thank you!
I got up and told them they could expect no further business from me as this is the 2^nd time they messed up my FACE and I wasn’t going to be a fool for the 3^rd time. Why is this place in business still?

This is my place. I see Saira but the other ladies are good too. Today, I went before heading into traders, so convenient and now I am all treaded and waxed! The prices can’t be beat. I like the little service shops like this in the neighborhood, so many are disappearing!!!

Got my wash and blow dry by Candy today for a great price! I first noticed the salon after a trip to Trader Joe’s and stopped in to ask about the sign in the window advertising the very affordable price. The price was confirmed and Candy handed me her card.
Cut to today, I was in the area and really needed to wash my hair, so I walked in and the store was completely empty. I told the owner that I wanted the wash/​dry and she said she would need to call Candy but that she lived nearby and would be there shortly. (It’s standard to call her and schedule an appointment beforehand to avoid waiting).
Sure enough, Candy waked through the door about 10 — 15 minutes later. She accommodated my request for a shampoo that was good for hair that has keratin (without charging me extra), detangled my hair with lots of conditioner so that a lot of hair didn’t come out, and then diligently went to town on straightening every inch of my mane.
While waiting I had a chance to look over the price list and the threading/​waxing seemed very affordable. Over the course of my stay lots of people (men and women) were in and out to get their brows/​face threaded so this seems to be their most popular service.
The only bad thing about the shop:
There is no free wifi. That being said, I was out of the salon in about 1.5 hours, and in the future I’ll call in advance to schedule an appointment so I won’t have to bide the time on the internet.
If the owners are reading this I would also suggest playing some soft/​spa type music to break up the silence in the store.

2.5 if I could. Let me start off by saying I have been getting my eyebrows threaded since I was 15 or 16. I usually go to eyebrow threading zone and they do a great job, but I was shopping at trader joes and decided to come in. There was a group of people waiting for another lady (don’t know her name, just saw she was wearing glasses). That should have been my sign lol. The other lady did my eyebrows. Right before she started I said, just a clean up. She went way overboard and now my eyebrow is too thin on one side and the other is thicker.

I’ve been coming here for a couple years now for eyebrow threading. I have a particular person I prefer (yes Saira) but all the women are good. In my experience, they’ve worked with my natural brow shape and listened to what I wanted. I don’t think threading hurts (for my eyebrows, never had it elsewhere) and at Brooklyn Brows, I don’t get any ingrown hairs or bumps as I sometimes do at other salons. Amazing way to look and feel great for $ 7.

I used to go here but after they took off too much hair and still charged me, I never returned. I would rather have a hairy face than to wait for a slow grow out again.

i have naturally thick eyebrows and like them that way. After a long vaca and ignoring them, I needed some cleaning up and shaping. They took so much off that months later, I’m still working on getting the thick shape back. If you want thin uneven brows, go here. UGH.

My sister desperately needed to get her eyebrows threaded and we stopped by this place right after dinner. We walked in about ten minutes before their closing time, and politely asked if they were able to do one last threading (there was still one other customer there). I understand it can be really annoying to have customers come in right before closing, but the two women working agreed and my sister sat down in one of the chairs. It was obvious that she was in a hurry to leave and it definitely showed. All she did was partly clean up the bottom area, but didn’t take the time to get everything or shape the eyebrows at all. They should’ve just said they were closed if they didn’t want to take the time or effort to do the job properly. We will never be coming back again.

Came here twice so far and I have to say I LOVE their price. You can’t beat a $ 7 eye brown threading. Unfortunately, the second time I was there, they didn’t do such a great job but for $ 7 I would probably still come back just check carefully in the mirror to make sure they got all the hair. They also gave me some awesome false lashes (only $ 30) which looked really great and pretty natural. It was great to roll out of bed and be ready to go with just a little bronzer and some gloss.

Great price and lovely women working there. I’ve come three or four times since I’ve moved to the area. The last time I went, it was a minute after their closing time and I didn’t realize it. I saw the sign and the clock and when I asked the woman if it was OK if she did my eyebrows, she was more than welcoming. She already had on her coat!
She was precise, but swift. I will always thread even if it hurts a bit. Waxing is so terrible for your skin. I don’t like the feel of the wax and pulling at your skin like that is terrible for my aging beauty :)
Great spot. A tiny bit more expensive than my old spot in Jackson Heights, but that being a very South Asian area, there was much more competition.

I’m so happy Brooklyn Brows is in my area. I get my brows threaded here once a month and they are always perfect if I tell them «not too thin.» I didn’t in the beginning and my brows were super skinny, very pretty, but too thin. I also get my underarms waxed here if I’m in a rush, it’s pretty cheap but I’m not a fan of their cream wax.
They do get pretty crowded but they work fast and have great hours so it’s very convenient, especially if you live or work in the neighborhood.

Just $ 7 for eyebrows is a steal but also too good to be true. I came in here despite just looking for eyebrow waxing. I was seat right away but the woman asked if I wanted threading instead. She said it would be more precise and cleaner. I’ve never had it done before. The lady spent a decent amount of time on my brows (they might have been a hot mess). Also I didn’t realize threading hurts this much. Honestly, I’d much rather do waxing than threading. When she was done, I looked in the mirror and realized that there were some stray hairs but also my brow shape was now straight (at least the left one was). I typically keep them curved since that’s the natural shape of my brows.
I’ll probably come back again since $ 7 is awesome and after 9 visits, you get a 10^th free!

I am so glad that I found this place! I have being going to a treading salon back home but since I moved here, I really needed to find a new salon. I did my research based on the reviews on Unilocal.I decided to try it out. Not to mention, the prices here are amazing…7 dollars. YES!
There was no line, and I did not have to wait. This place is a bit small and there is usually one or two people working so if you come at a bad time and have to wait, I’m sorry. Thankfully I showed up before all the people that go to get their brows done during the busy hours. They are very clean, gentle on the eyebrows, and listen to what you want done. My eyebrows look amazingly perfect and clean! I will be a regular customer here.

for the $ 6 price you can’t beat it for an eyebrow threading.
the women are nice but you have to tell them not too thin. they all seem to love thin eyebrows.
there is a big sign on the wall that gives prices for waxing, and in a starburst of bold it says, «we never double dip!», which i really appreciate. i have not tried their waxing services but a $ 10 underarm wax is also a great price, so i just may…
