Kaitlin and Liesl have been life savers! We have used Brooklyn Cat Sitting’s services several times, and I am thrilled to say they are the BEST option for cat owners who are nervous to leave their pets for an extended period.
Not only do they take care of the essentials (food, water, litter scoop, etc), they go above & beyond by staying for at least 30 minutes each visit, giving them lots of attention (my cats are really needy, ha). Speaking of above & beyond, they are PROS. They will either email or text you photos and a report every single visit… And write it down, for your reference later, including a thorough checklist. And also, they leave cute little photo magnets of your cats for when you arrive home. It’s almost as if they love my cats as much as I do…
Moreover, I have a boy cat who has had a lot of health issues and I hate to leave him for fear that he will become sick again, but I know that with Kaitlin or Liesl, if anything happens, they are pros and will be prepared to take care of anything that arises.
I really TRUST these girls, and I can say I really feel much more relaxed on vacation knowing they are in the BEST hands.

This is the first review I’ve ever felt compelled to write. Kaitlyn and her team are so responsible, professional and helpful. It was the first time I had ever used a service, and not a friend, to look after my cat so I was nervous about it. However, from the very first update from my sitter Alexandra, I was completely put at ease.
My cat, Hudson, was so happy when I got home. He definitely had an amazing time! I have no reservations using them again in a heartbeat!

Kaitlin at Brooklyn Cat Sitting is THE best! We used her service for the first time over the Christmas holidays, and she totally took the stress and sadness away that I usually get when I leave my kitties. I’ve had other sitters that don’t even come close to the level of professionalism that Kaitlin has. My cats and my apartment were so well taken care of, and they were 100% happy and healthy when I arrived home. And even my shy, cautious cat got to love Kaitlin. She sends great updates with photos so you always know whats going on. She’s great!

Very professional all round. Communication and standards all A+. We came home from three-​day vacation to happy cats who had clearly been well fed, brushed, given love and attention. I liked how particular the sitter was with the litter box. She disposed of the litter off site which meant that the air was fresh upon our return which it wouldn’t have been if the litter was sitting in the trash can. Also impressed with the (free) mandatory pre-​consultation where the sitter came by to meet the cats, and us, to meet and address any concerns etc. Highly recommended.

Oh my god! Kaitlin is the absolute best. When I moved to Manhattan, losing her was the worst. I am still looking for someone as reliable and loving. She made me feel comfortable whenever I left town and my cat, Jack Bauer was in love with her.

Awesome, all around experience. Super professional, the cats took to their sitter immediately and weren’t going crazy by the time we got back, I highly recommend their service. Plus the daily reports are excellent, we had little to worry about while we were away.

Marisa at Brooklyn Cat Sitting was amazing! We were going on vacation for 11 days and were worried about leaving our new cat home alone. Marisa came for an initial visit and quickly set our minds at ease.
Every day we received photos and updates from Marisa about her visit. When our cat stopped eating enough, Marisa let us know and happily added some treats and water to the food bowl as encouragement.
We felt great leaving our cat in Marisa’s care, and will use Brooklyn Cat Sitters every time we travel.

I cannot express how happy I am with their service. Kaitlin and Julie came over to collect my keys and meet the cats. They spent a lot of time getting to know them and making sure that everything was in order. While I was gone, I got a nice, long text with info about the cats (what they were doing, how they were feeling, what they played with, including pictures) after every visit! Serious props to Julie — when she came by to drop off the keys, our most shy cat ran to the hallway to say hello. We will definitely be using them again.

Kaitlin and her team are just fantastic. I use them whenever I have to leave town, and my cat could not be happier with the love and attention she receives. They’re super responsive, give great updates and always include a photo. AND I always return to find clean litter trays, food bowls and fresh water. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

I feel it my obligation to give Kaitlin, of Brooklyn Cat Sitting, a glowing review. She was amazing from the moment I realized I needed to make quick arrangements for my two cats while I was on vacation. She responded quickly to my email, was very professional when she came over (with her questions and appearance) and was extremely pleasant to both my cats and me.
However, what’s amazing about her service was the TLC I felt she gave my cats. She sent detailed email updates and photos while I was away (including a very sweet, photo-​shopped happy birthday message from them). She left extra pet care and emergency numbers for my personal reference and watered my plant when I was away.
I highly recommend Brooklyn Cat Sitting because Kaitlin went the extra mile. Other convenient things included credit card payment up front, offering to keep my keys on file for future emergencies and even the simple fact that she asked for confirmation that I was home and the cats were safe. She even made lovely photos and magnets of my cats!
I also love that she’s from Brooklyn and is running a great small business for herself.

So utterly and completely happy with Brooklyn Catsitting. I did a Google search and found a few services, but I the info on the Brooklyn Catsitting site was so impressive that I decided to go with them. Kaitlin came over with Liesl who would be sitting the cats. The intake interview was thorough and I immediately felt at ease.
We were away three days and once I got the first email update, I was totally relaxed. We came home to two obviously happy cats, report cards, and a personal note from the sitter.
In addition to excellent general care, all sitters come with first aid kits, so they are prepared. In our case, one of the cats scratched herself to the point of a little bleeding. This was reported to us and the cut was attended to. Amazing!
I am typically reluctant to go away for a number of reasons, including worrying about the cats. Now I have fewer reasons to refuse to go away. I cannot recommend these people more highly. Very impressed!

We hired Kaitlin to take care of our sweet 1.5 year old cat back in December. I don’t know why it has taken me so long to write a review.
Before finding Brooklyn Cat Sitting we had hired a different sitter through another cat sitting service. But the sitter had a dog and I think that the smell she carried made our cat feel a little uneasy, I love dogs as well, but I appreciate that Kaitlin is a cat-​centric sitter.
Kaitlin is very professional and I felt secure leaving our cat child in her hands. She came over and met her and us. She asked the obvious questions about where all of our cat’s food, treats, and litter, etc was. But what I appreciated, is that she also asked about favorite toys, activities, her habits, hiding places etc. Kaitlin is very thorough and took notes for our cat’s record. While we were away (for a week) she made sure to text me daily updates along with a photo of our cat. This made me feel so much more secure.
I would recommend Brooklyn Cat Sitting to anyone. I don’t know how Kaitlin does it, she runs the business by herself and has just recently hired two sitters. I hope that they are as amazing as Kaitlin, but I am sure they are!

Brooklyn Cat Sitting is the best! I used to worry about my 2 cats when I travelled, but not anymore. Kaitlin and Marisa came over to meet me and my cats before I left town and they were lovely people. As another reviewer mentioned, Kaitlin took great notes about all the little things having to do with the daily routine and care of my cats. Marisa cared for the two cats while I was away and she did an amazing job. One of my boys is very nervous, but he warmed up to her very quickly. She sent adorable photos and updates daily. When I got home the cats were so happy, as I had never seen them like that before upon returning from a trip. Thank you Brooklyn Cat Sitting!

I can not say enough nice things about Kaitlin. She is so wonderful that it has allowed us to take longer vacations knowing our cats in such good care. She sends pictures and charming updates. A total joy.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said here!
Kaitlyn is amazing and so frickin sweet that I squeezed her so tight on our first meeting that I probably scared her.
My normally super shy cat warmed up to her after 1 day because she is in fact a «cat whisperer».
She accommodated my need for someone on short notice when I couldn’t find someone to service my area (people kept suggesting I use Mobile Mutts, but they told me my location in Bed Stuy was too far east, yet they service Greenpoint, which makes no sense).
Her website is clear, easy to understand, user– friendly.
Her response time is immediate. I left an email at midnight on the website and she responded back at 9am with a promise to come pick up keys by 5pm that night.
When her final visit came, she left a handwritten card, kitty report cards, and cute tote bag (that I’m keeping all my handy vet numbers in that she gave us!)
And she really does try to find solutions as well if a problem should arise– while we were away in Mexico she text us to let us know she was having problem with our set of keys. I panicked, and called a neighbor, but she couldn’t get to our house until later. Instead of calling a locksmith, which would’ve resulted in another charge, she made a second trip to our house, with the second set of keys and kept trying until she got in! Lesson learned for me! Make sure you have the catsitter test (and not just myself) before you go!
I honestly couldn’t have been happier with Kaitlyn and her professionalism. I loved how hands on she was, and wish her much success with her business because she is the best!

What better time to write a review — having just returned from time away to the happiest cats in the world! I think my cats may like Kaitlin better than me.
As a cat mom of two, one of which is challenging to say the least (she was feral & mistreated when I adopted her 12yrs ago from a shelter), who travels a lot, I have tried many kitty sitters and boarding facilities. The only place I felt somewhat comfortable with, and had gotten accustomed to relying on, closed about a year ago. At the time, I was sure this was the worst thing that could happen; little did I know this was a blessing in disguise as it led me to the amazing Kaitlin and Brooklyn Cat Sitting.
Approaching a weekend away, I was stocking up on cat food and worrying what to do with my cats when I noticed a beautiful pamphlet for Brooklyn Cat Sitting. I was worried that I would be out of range, so I decided to consult Unilocal (two facilities had recently opened near me that provided kitty sitting, so I had resigned myself to trying them). The two businesses near me did not come up, but Brooklyn Cat Sitting did — and thus I began reading reviews that described the type of care I could have only imagined exists. The reviews led me to the website, also beautifully designed, on which I read about Kaitlin’s background AND her cats, and it was immediately clear that I had found a TRUE cat lover. I emailed Kaitlin and was thrilled to get a quick response, saying she could accommodate both my location (LIC) and also my short notice (since I had put off the dreaded task of finding a kitty sitter!)
Kaitlin sent me a questionnaire that covered eating schedules, daily patterns, favorite toys, potential hiding spots, & more; the nature of the questionnaire, and it’s attention to details, put me at ease. She came to meet my kitties before I left town and was so lovely — kind and warm, Kaitlin is a person one cannot help but like immediately. I felt 1000% confident leaving my kitties in her care.
While away, I love getting daily reports (& photos!) of her visits with my kitties. I have warned many to steer clear of my often-​mean kitty, Edie, but that has not prevented Kaitlin from trying to win her over:) And I think it’s working! Thanks to Kaitlin’s tips on what may help calm nerves, Edie is now showing more appreciation* (or tolerance) during Kaitlin’s visits; amazingly, Edie has never shown Kaitlin the heinous behavior she has shown other kitty-​sitters, so I am thrilled!
I have hired Kaitlin throughout the last year for amounts of time ranging from 1 day to 1.5 weeks (2 visits/​day), and each time I have returned to happy & healthy kitties. I contacted Kaitlin recently with less than 12 hours notice (to attend a memorial) and Kaitlin was able to accommodate. I enjoy reviewing the visit reports when I return home & appreciate notes about few behavioral things for me to watch. I have reached out to Kaitlin between visits with kitty questions and she is always responsive and helpful.
I could go on & on (and have done so already!), but I think I have relayed the message: Brooklyn Cat Sitting & Kaitlin are AMAZING! I would not trust anyone else with my kitties.

We traveled for business and hired Kaitlin for about a week. Before we left, she came by to meet us and our cat. She took good notes about his feeding schedule and the toys he likes best. She asked about hiding places and habits — it was a nice comfort that she was so prepared and cared about more than getting paid.
Once we were away, Kaitlin came around the same times (we chose the 2x/​day option) each day to feed our cat and give him some much-​needed love. Everyday, we got text updates about our cat’s behavior and what Kaitlin had done with him (petting, playing, brushing, etc.). She even sent photos! This too was a big comfort, knowing he was getting attention while we were gone.
Kaitlin paid so much attention to detail with our cat that she noticed when he was having constipation issues while we were gone. Because of her experience with cats and in a veterinary setting, we trusted her suggestion to add pumpkin to his diet. She did ask us before administering anything. We happened to have pumpkin on-​hand and it worked for our cat within a day. Of course you never want anything to happen to your pets, especially when you’re away. But it’s so great that we can trust Kaitlin to make an educated decision if anything more serious were to happen while we were gone.
In the past, we had checked our cat in various kennels when we had to travel. But he would always be so needy when we’d pick him up, indicating that he had very little playtime or interaction at all. Kaitlin made sure that he got one-​on-​one time and prevented us from having him locked in a cage for most of the day at a kennel. Besides, cats do better in their own environments, so it’s easier on our cat if he can be at home when we’re gone. Brooklyn Cat Sitting is much better than a kennel!
When we arrived home at the end of our trip, Kaitlin had left more detailed daily reports of our cat’s behavior and what she’d done with him/​for him (playing, petting, litter emptying, etc.) and had brought in the mail for us as well. Her brochure says she will also water in-​home plants. I would not hesitate to hire her again the next time we have to go out of town!

My fiancé and I are very devoted to our cats, Hank and Buster, and we were so happy to have found Kaitlin! We always get a little worried whenever we leave town — will they be lonesome? what if they get sick? — but Kaitlin put all those worries to rest. She is extremely smart, professional and personable. It’s clear that she knows what she’s doing and that she also loves what she does — very important.
Hank and Buster could not have been in better hands. We got daily updates and pics and they looked super happy and relaxed. Buster, especially, takes a while to warm up to people, but he was posing like a little ham by the 2^nd day. When we got back, we had a really adorable and informative report card letting us know how the cats behaved and it there were any changes to their eating etc.
Thank you, Kaitlin! We were gone for 10 days and not once did we worry because we always got updates. We came home to 2 happy cats, which is all we could ever ask for.

I am so glad I hired Kaitlin to watch my cat Moose over the holidays. I always feel anxious when I am away from Moose — she’s a senior cat with several health issues. Kaitlin took excellent care of her. She stayed in daily contact with me, including updates on eating, medicine administration and interactions with Moose. When I got back, Kaitlin had completed a «Kitty Report Card» so that I had even more detailed information about how things went while I was away. I can tell that Kaitlin is very much a cat person and treated Moose with care and affection. I would highly recommend Kaitlin to any cat parent, particularly anyone who feels cat separation anxiety or who has elderly or medically fragile cats.

I am a passionate cat lover and doting cat mom, and I cannot imagine a more thorough or professional service to care for my cat than Brooklyn Cat Sitting. Kaitlin is a one-​woman operation, but somehow manages to run an amazing business. She has a deep knowledge of cat behavior and health (as she is a vet school student), and is truly an animal lover through and through.
She sends daily updates and photos, so you can see your pet is dong well each day, and even leaves behind a daily checklist showing that everything you’re paying for has been attended to. She is super nice, and very responsive via email. I will be hiring Kaitlin for all future out of town needs! I think my cat likes her better than she likes me, haha! I can’t recommend her services more highly.
