Brooklyn Heights Imaging

I must say, maybe a lot of these reviewers are cranky about going for tests in general or maybe I expected the lowest and anticipated waiting for hours but I had the complete opposite experience as so many of these reviews. With my insurance I had slim pickings of somewhere to go for my xrays that was in close proximity to my office. I had visited this office over a year ago when I broke my foot and was happy to come back to get an xray on my coccyx. I had an 8am appointment, had my insurance information ready and had my referral sent directly from my PCP. I got there at 7:45am and I was getting my xrays done at 8:05am. The front desk was friendly and the xray technician was a joy especially at 8am! Smiling, happy and friendly. My PCP called me with results in 2 days which means the radiologist checked my scans quickly. I must say I am impressed with this facility, the people who run it and all of the workers. Oh, and did I mention it was spotless? I will be back for sure.

Have been to this location twice. The first time wasn’t horrible. The reception staff are rude and inattentive, the waiting room stuffy and over crowded and there is usually a wait, but the woman who performed my my sonogram was lovely and the whole procedure was painless. Not so with my second visit. Again, overcrowded waiting room but was relieved to be called back for my MRI relatively close to the appointment time. That’s were things took a turn for the worse. The radiologist couldn’t care less about the fact that I hadn’t finished filling out my paperwork, (which may have contained important contraindications to having an MRI with Gadolinuim contrast injected!) was clearly on a schedule and wanted to rush things through. So much so that when he went to put the needle in my vein for the contrast injection and I told him the needle was hurting me, he flatly told me it was in my head and to just get the scan over with and deal with the pain later. I decided to grin and bear it but when he came in to inject the contrast the injection wouldn’t go in and he ended up having to jab me in three different veins in a very hurried and rough manner. I kept wincing with the pain but he didn’t care and just wanted to get the MRI over with. Needless to say, I ended up with blood gushing from both arms, huge purple bruises at the injection site and my left arm was completely swollen and felt extremely sore and painful all day long. I ended up calling the office later in the day as the swelling still hadn’t gone down and was told they couldn’t get ahold of anyone who could give me advice on what to do and was told a nurse would call me back… not surprisingly, I never got a call back. This centre is run like an assembly line with zero care for the patients themselves… I will not be returning to this location for future scans!

Visited on multiple occasions. Shout out to Sasha the MRI lady. In general always on time or close to it. Courteous efficient staff.

They overbooked & they were significantly behind schedule. One person at the front desk was really abrasive off and on. The young man who does intake is pleasant. The technicians and other staff in the back were lovely.

My neurologist sent me here for two MRIs. I arrived 30 minutes before appointment time as instructed. I was taken at my appointment time and was happy not to wait. The technician performing the MRIs was nice and took his time. The only complaint I had was that they required my co-​insurance payment at the time of my appointment, which I was not informed of prior to the appointment. I did not appreciate the shock of having to pay over $ 1000 on that day. This is a big issue and they really need to inform patients of this before their arrival time.

My doc sent me here — I almost didnt go based on the reviews, but it was so close to my house i just bit the bullet.
Was there at exactly 8am on a Tuesday. They said I was the first one. I waited 15min and saw a friendly enough physician.
Lobby was a little stuffy & hot, but not to an alarming level. Receptionist was friendly enough and laughed at some lame joke i made when she asked if i had any foreign objects in my body.
Maybe it gets crazy in the afternoon, but my round trip was 45min.

My MRI was on a Sunday, which meant zero wait time. Wonderful! Until I had to deal with the people who work there. Although there were no other clients, the staff did not seem attentive. The receptionists were cold and unwelcoming (hardly any eye contact, no smile, «here just take this and fill it out» unfriendly attitude). The MRI tech did everything «by the book» logistically, but he just seemed to be going through the motions, not really listening to what I was saying. During the questions portion before the brain MRI, I said I had suffered head trauma due to being assaulted, and he just went «OK, next question» without even pausing to acknowledge what I had said. It seems to me the staff here lack training in empathy and in making the patients feel heard and safe. Let me just say I will not be returning to this place, although I have another exam that needs to get done. Sorry, I’m taking my business elsewhere!
People who get MRIs are concerned that they might have things like cancer or serious problems, and they’re looking to be reassured. My advice to management: if you’re in this business, you need to provide a warm and caring environment for patients who come to you feeling anxious about health matters. Also, could you offer patients the chance to play music during their MRI? That would make the experience so much more pleasant.

Just had my brain MRI at this location and had a great experience! Jenna at reception desk was efficient and professional. Anthony, the radiology technician, was friendly, helpful and efficient as well. Maybe because today is Sunday, but there was no long wait and I was on the MRI table before my appointed time!
And the place was neat and clean.

I had booked an appointment 2 weeks prior, which was a disaster in itself because the woman on the phone was hard of hearing with a very thick accent. I then arrived at my appointment only to be told it had been cancelled and rebooked for the following week. No one had called or left me a voicemail. Complete lack of respect for my time, and the woman was fairly unapologetic.

I have been using Professional Radiology for years now known as Brooklyn Heights Radiology. Yes there is usually a wait the place is very busy. I allow for this most medical centers have a wait, we live in a very big city & it is just the way of life. The staff has always been couteous too. It has recently been re-​done (modernized). It isn’t that easy to get an appointment so I usually make one well in advance.
I recently retired but will be going back to Brooklyn since I find this place more efficient than the one near my home. They do what my doctor prescribes on her prescription pad & not what their doctors want to do. My doctor knows me they don’t.

They lie and some of the staff is very rude. I read bad things about this place and was reluctant to go there. The facility is shabby. The receptionist refused to answer my questions — I asked how long the wait was and she claimed she didn’t know — and had zero customer service skills. All she said was «fill out the paperwork and then bring it to the window.» When I went to the window I was told to wait until I am called. I said that the receptionist told me otherwise and to go to the window when done with the paperwork. The receptionist flat out lied and said, «I didn’t say that.» Then I waited 20 minutes only to be told by a different person there was a 2 hour wait because there was an incident in the MRI room. This may have been true but couldn’t the receptionist have told me that before I filled out all the paperwork and waited? The next person I spoke with was polite and asked me if I wanted to reschedule and I refused — he kept trying to get me to reschedule at one of their many facilities, obviously interested in not losing money for the company. They had me wait, fill out paperwork and waste my time all in the hopes that I would have been so far along in the process that I would’ve stayed. They are a money making operation. They don’t care about you or giving you quality care.

This place was horrible. They wouldn’t give me an appointment for an x-​ray, they said I could only come as a walk in. They said there wouldn’t be much of a wait, but when I got there 15 minutes later the place was packed. The worst part was how poorly ventilated the waiting room is. I get that most radiology centers are in basements, but ventilate the place! It honestly smelled so bad I almost vomited a few times. I waited 45 minutes and then left without being seen because I couldn’t stand the stench any longer. I wound up going to New York Radiology Partners on 15^th Street in Manhattan because they would give me an appointment. What a difference. Well ventilated, didn’t stink, and I was in and out in 15 minutes. Brooklyn Heights was simply horrible.

This is one of the worst centers I have ever been to. They want to do multiple procedures to rack up client billing. I went in for a biopsy, which was extremely painful because they did not numb the area enough. Then afterwards they wanted to do a mammogram! I was in terrible pain and couldn’t even believe they would suggest another procedure!!! Oh and they basically try to convince you you have cancer. After my sonogram I just mentioned that I had no family history of breast cancer. The doctor looked right at me and said, «well most people that get breast cancer are the first ones in their family to be diagnosed.»
I almost burst into tears. Please if you have to go here do NOT see dr. Julie Po. No bedside manner whatsoever!
Meanwhile I am absolutely fine but listening to them you would think I was dying!
Do not go here, ever.

This has got to be the most unprofessional office I’ve had to deal with. I have been waiting for 2.5 weeks for an appt. Every day I’m told the manager will call me and nothing!!! Finally after much persistance I find out that this is not an authorized site for my insurance. It took them over 2 WHOLE WEEKS to finally give me an answer. Prior to that they told me I was preapproved and sent me to one of their affiliated sites. When I arrived there on July 29^th, I found out that they didn’t take my insurance. VERY FRUSTRATING!!! If I could give them 0 Stars I would. Went to another location who booked me the same day I called. Just found out I’ve been walking around with three tears, 2 of which are completely torn! Brooklyn Heights Imaging sucks… Their procrastination could have or maybe did make my injury worse!

I went by today a day after the blizzard to pickup my images and come to find out they were closed. I traveled from sheepshead bay in the snow and they did not notify through their website or even on the voicemail. I am really upset and disappointed. This blizzard was not that serious for them to close.

In my 10 years in NYC one of my biggest complaints has been lack of clean, courteous, and efficient medical facilities. Each time I am sent for blood work, x-​rays, or examinations I dread what i may encounter, and I my low expectations are usually more than met. NYC seems bereft of places that genuinely respect their patients and provide a clean and welcoming environment. So, I was skeptical about Brooklyn Heights Imaging and what might await me. However, to say I was pleasantly surprised is a huge understatement. The facilities here are clean, modern, and competently run. I was greeted by a lovely young lady who was clear in her instructions to me and all patients. I was seen within 10 minutes, and my X-​Ray technician was delightful. All in all, from start to finish, the whole process took less than half an hour, they accepted my insurance, and I was treated with genuine courtesy from start to finish. Fantastic!

I have nothing but praise for Professional Radiology, after having four MRI’s performed there over the past several months. From scheduling to the procedure to help afterwards getting a copy of the films on disc, everyone has been tremendously help, kind and, as their name suggests, professional. I’m very grateful to them all.
I have subsequently had further procedures performed at Brooklyn Heights Imaging and again, was very impressed. Everyone on the staff are tremendously kind and professional and helpful. Once again, I’m very grateful

This place is incredible. I had to go in for three procedures on two separate days. The doctors, nurses, technicians, and support staff are universally kind, knowledgable, professional, and quick. They made what could have been a scary or at least unpleasant situation (who really WANTS to go to doctors appointments???) into a painless and pleasant situation.
As a bonus, one of my procedures had to be done during a certain time window, right as the doctor who performs the procedure was about to go on vacation! They were kind enough to schedule me in 1 hour before closing the day before the doctor was gone. I cannot thank them enough for accommodating me so quickly and so kindly. If you need the services of a radiologist, this is the place to go.
