Brooklyn Ink

Meh. I have had better experiences in other places. Kind of a macho, goofy, nerd guy vibe. Tried something small. Won’t be back. Wasn’t upset but wasn’t thrilled either. Also, you gotta love grouchy tattoo artists with no manners and filthy insulting mouths who resent criticism. Not a place for you if you are looking for superior work. Do not go for piercing. One of them was loudly talking about how he hates doing it and hates those types of customers. Tattoo places can be gruff but no one wants an obviously angry man cutting into their flesh. I won’t be back.

Brooklyn Ink is the only tattoo place I really go to and have been coming here for seven years. I have done most of my tattoos and piercings from here. I have gotten tattooed from Alex, Matt and Joe but the one who has done most of my work is Alex. It is extremely clean in here so you do not have to worry. It’s also a great environment and all the artist do amazing work. Going to a tattoo shop consist of having great artist and cleanness.
I gave walked in with an idea of a tattoo and just told Alex and he just did the tattoo right there and than. Or he just did it straight on my arm without drawing it in a paper first. The prices are reasonable which remember You get what you pay for. Every piece I have gotten from here is quality work and always came out amazing. I have never been unhappy with anything I got here. I even had a tattoo fixed from Alex because another place in the city messed up.
Also if you are looking for a good piercing this is the place! Matt has done all of my piercing I have and I have never had a problem with any of them. I got a piercing once from someone else and it went so wrong and they refused to help so I came here and Matt helped me save it.
Also the way they tell you to take care of your tattoos is the proper way I believe because every tattoo and even piercing had always healed with no problems. I have a tattoo from another shop which was my first and it was healed wrong due to what I was told to use.
My advise is really if you are looking for a shop this is the place!

Today I got 3 micro dermal piercing on my rib cage and it was an awesome experience, really professional, clean, and Matt got an extremely light hand. I can’t begin to describe how much I loved his work, I loved it soo much I got a Rook on my left ear done as well. If I am going to do another piercing I would definitely go to brooklyn ink and have Matt do it again.

Went in on a Friday night for a piercing. No wait, they were all hilarious and very friendly. The shop is super clean, they’ve got tons of flash, but they are CASH ONLY so bring your dolla bills. Definitely impressed and will come back when I’m ready for my next tat!

Love brooklyn ink! Alex has tattooed me 8+ times. He also did a huge chest piece for my boyfriend. We love going in for work. The atmosphere in the shop is great! Always get a good laugh and conversation along with brilliant work. Thanks guys!!! I will continue to be a customer

I got tattooed last week Thursday, Alex doing the tattooing. He was great, did exactly what i asked and was extremely pleasant to be tattooed by.
When i saw the completed sketch (from what i had requested the week before), I realized it was much larger than what i had asked for. He shrunk it down a little bit, but the design was so cool I actually wanted to keep it pretty big. I warned him that I wouldn’t be able to come back until after summer is over, so please makes sure you can get it done in one sitting. He was great, fast, and professional. He completely a pretty intricate, large tattoo in just about two hours.
My husband also got tattooed on Thursday, and for the first time. Alex was super nice, explaining everything at his station. He took extra time to make sure my husband was comfortable and informed.

Amazing work. I get compliments on my tattoo almost everyday. If you have an idea of what you want, they will be able to make your idea into a amazing piece. Never a rushed job. A very friendly environment. True artists.

Just got back from getting three piercings done. I was pretty nervous for the pain. It ended up not being bad at all! He did a great job and took very good care of me. Very pleased with how it all went.
The place is pretty small but they’re friendly and helpful and very nice. They definitely know what they’re doing.
The pricing was very fair.

Only the Best, By The Best! The guys in here are all amazing and have amazing talent. I have gotten several piece done here by Alex and Joe. Both Of which are amazing artist and down to earth people. They keep it real and keep a really clean shop!

I have only been here for piercing, not tattoos, but I am very impressed with their professionalism and customer service. No matter how many tattoos & piercings I have there is always a feeling of intimidation surrounding the experience when I walk into such a place.
I had some jewelry changed here, and then the day after Hurricane Sandy I came in for a «snug» ear piercing. I was amazed they were even open, didn’t think this was exactly a business that was in need on such a day. Nonetheless I was happy they were.
They are clean and very clear about how to take care of your piercings. I returned 5 months later, worried that my piercing still hadn’t healed, but Matt, the piercer thoroughly explained that it was totally normal and detailed the healing process to me (complete with drawings) reassuring me. Turns out I picked a piercing that could take up to a year to fully heal (impatient!) but I felt really good about his knowledge and readiness to answer my questions and assuage any concerns.
I will definitely come back here for jewelry changes and if I ever feel unsure about the healing progression, which is important to me.

I come here for my tats both times were great. Joe is one of the best realist tattoo artist I’ve seen in New York. Very real using negative space and colors. My first tat was an owl portrait which came out phenomenal. If you wana check it out its in the portfolio. My second was a king chess piece which came out just as the picture. Don’t be rude and a douche have a clear idea of what u want and bring in pictures and photographs. Very friendly and professional will be back soon

I was pierced here by some girl back in 2010 and while the customer service was great, she didn’t autoclave the jewelry. The jewelry was sitting in a cup of blue liquid and I was like «woah wait a second, was that autoclaved?» She told me, «It’s the same thing.» NO way. There’s a big difference between something that’s sterilized and something that’s disinfected. A proper place will show you your jewelry being autoclaved. The needles were clean, so I ended up getting pierced anyway (cause I’m dumb I guess) and overall my lip healed without any issue.

so far so good, hopefully when I am done with my Tat and everything goes well I will def give this place five stars, the people are really helpful and welcoming, the artists are beyond great at their craft, i havent finished my tat i go tomorrow but i already get compliment on how good it looks. Joe is my current artist and the at the looks of it, i dont think i will ever go to anyone else, people are always asking who my artist is and i almost dont want to tell them… lol these guys are very professional, CLEAN, and welcoming, worst feeling is walking into a place and having the feeling that all these tattooed people are staring at you judging, not here these guys will make you feel at home. Parking sucks, sorry guys… lol

It’s an okay place, I guess. The guys are friendly and price per hour is a decent, but the work is only so-​so. It took 3 sessions to complete — this tattoo could have been done in one 3 hour session instead of three 1 hour sessions. The outlining that was done was pretty bad — some areas weren’t straight, shading was very obviously missing in some areas — it just looked very amateurish. I’d go back again for piercings or a small piece, but I’ll look elsewhere for large pieces.

I had not been tattooed in almost a decade and I was itching for one in a serious way. I wanted a portrait tattoo of my mother and I was nervous to find someone good enough, someone that I would know would get it just right. I found that person in Alex, at Brooklyn Ink, in Bay Ridge Brooklyn.
As soon as I met him and we started to discuss the tattoo, I know he was the one. He totally ‘got it” and knew exactly what I wanted and how to make it look as beautiful as possible. Working with a very old photograph, he was able to recreate the portrait of my beautiful mother right into the skin of my back. Alex snapped a pic when he was more than halfway through and showed it to me. My reaction was to literally burst into tears as the beauty he was able to create on me, this special picture of my mother, just brought me to tears.
As far as the shop, it is spotless, comfortable, and completely professional. I have had my nose jewelry replaced by both piercers and they were also terrific guys, kind and friendly.
The entire vibe of the shop is completely positive and I would recommend Brooklyn Ink to anyone looking for tattoos or piercings done by extremely talented men that make you feel as comfortable as possible.

I absolutely LOVE Brooklyn Ink!!! I go here all the time for my tattoo /​piercing needs. I have had the pleasure of being tattooed by ALL of the wonderful guys at Brooklyn Ink. Alex, Joe, Rob and Matt are all excellent! All are skilled and knowledgeable about their art. There prices are excellent and you really can’t go wrong with the price when you consider the level of experience these gentlemen have and the amount of time they spend with you (consulting) and on you (tattooing). Remember, good tattoos aren’t cheap and cheap tattoos aren’t good! That being said, their prices are excellent. All of the guys there are skilled artists and do EXCELLENT custom work. They are also extremely fun and relaxed to be around. They never made me feel uncomfortable and it’s always a pleasure to be tattooed by someone who is funny and can make you laugh. All of them are funny with excellent senses of humor! I get compliments on my work from these fine boys ALLLLL the time!
That being said, go get tattooed or pierced here, you will NOT be disappointed.

I’ve gotten many piercings in my life! This was the piercing to top ALL piercings– Couldnt have wished for a better experience. I could go on, and on… (I’m a talker) but I decided to kiss (keep it short n sweet)
I came off the train: in a part of Bklyn that I was far from familiar with– I called Brooklyn Ink and the friendly guy on the other end gave me turn by turn directions (Sweet!)
I went by myself: as soon as I walked in I felt welcomed & they were super duper friendly (there sat about 4 guys watching a movie on the big screen and… ME!, on top of that it was like 11 at night) Super clean shop too and nice pics of other’s tatts all over the walls.
I wanted to poop bricks right before he got started: Although I was nervous he told me to relax, we took a few breaths & he said this would be the easiest piercing among all others. (Boy, he wasnt lying)

I had to pay CASH: which is always difficult for me since I prefer using my card to track purchases. But I called around to about 15 different places and they had the most reasonable price for the piercing (which included the jewelry), the best reviews, and was easiest in accessibility).
I liked the fact that they take care of YOU 1^st and worry about the check after: I paid, at that time he also gave me THOROUGH after-​care instructions, helpful hints for healing, told me HIS hours at the parlor so if something went wrong I can use him as contact & oh yea, I bought another H2Ocean.

MATT! Actually you dont have to worry about asking for him specifically I think he’s the only one that does piercings.

I got my first tattoo here and Rob did an EXCELLENT job! I would recommend this place to anyone, they do really good work, are very clean and professional. When it’s time for another, I’m going back to Brooklyn Ink.
In terms of tat suggestions: if you’re going to do it, DO IT! why get something dinky?
