At Brooklyn Tax & Accounting we specialize in getting our clients everything they deserve. We prepare income tax returns for individuals and businesses as well as quarterly business taxes. We offer bookkeeping services and related accounting services for business clients focused on tax reduction strategies.

BTA believes in charging fees under the market rate in order to serve a broader range of clients. Tax Law expertise is not only for the wealthy but should be available to all people paying US Income Taxes.

History

Established in 2014.

Brooklyn Tax & Accounting grew out of the IRS VITA tax program at Brooklyn College. The VITA management went on to study for and take the Special Enrollment Exams on the road to becoming Enrolled Agents. The realization that tax payers are being taken advantage of by disreputable tax preparers caused us to open our own firm to offer high priced services at a discount rate.

Meet the Business Owner

Mike H.

Business Owner

Mike Hovell will be an Enrolled Agent, admitted to represent clients and practice before the IRS. Hovell, while studying accounting and psychology at Brooklyn College was the program coordinator for their IRS VITA tax program for the 2013 and 2014 filing seasons. Prior to returning to college, Hovell worked as the Chief Financial Officer for Estore of NY, Inc, and was registered with the NASD to conduct securities transactions on behalf of clients.
