Really nice little dentist office on the crazy street of Fulton. Pleasant receptionist and pretty easy with scheduling an appointment online or over the phone. The hygienist was very nice and polite, she has a soft touch, which left me very satisfied with my cleaning. It was my first time being there and the experience was pleasant. Their office is quaint, but they could probably renovate and clean a little more. Their equipment was fine, just the furnishings need an upgrade. Overall, very happy with the experience. All hipsters, welcome.

After 2 visits I feel I am in good hands. Dr. Johnson is very professional and thorough and I am glad that I found her.

Catherine was very friendly and professional when I booked my 1^st over the phone. (good sign, as I called another dental office prior and let’s just say the reception wasn’t so friendly)
I’ve been there twice and was seen on time with no waiting each time.
Dr Johnson is pleasant and explains everything to you.

I got a filling and the tooth was «high» after. It has been causing pain for about 2 weeks. I went in on Saturday for something else and she adjusted the tooth. I can only feel the pain when I eat so the doctor told me to let her know so she could fix it.
I tried grit and bare it for a few days and decided I needed to see her again. I called today and indicated it was an emergency, the next available appointment was Monday… So now I am going back to the doctor I had before #&$* insurance took over.
And I get to pay out of pocket! Yay!

I had a very nice first time experience at this office which says a lot because I HATE going to the dentist. Dr. Johnson is calming, sweet, and doesn’t make you feel guilty about not flossing etc. She was on time too! Highly recommended.

What can I say about Dr. Johnson that hadn’t already been said, she is absolutely amazing! I had my first visit at Cambridge Dental about a month ago thanks to the reviews here on Unilocal,& you guys once again did not disappoint. Dr. Johnson is very thorough and efficient. She was detailed in explaining the work I needed to get done on my initial visit which was a cleaning & X-​rays. On the day of my first official appointment I was seated in the chair promptly. I had to get a few fillings done on this day and Dr. Johnson was extremely quick (20 mins for 2 fillings, how awesome is that). Overall going to the Dentist is a very daunting task but Dr. Johnson was pleasant and her demeanor was welcoming and trust worthy, a true professional. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Johnson.

Dr Johnson is really great!!! She makes you comfortable and there was no wait. I mean I went in at 230 for a fill in and I was walking out at 250. The rest of the staff are also very friendly and efficient

I have been going to Dr. JOhnson for over 5 years. The office is well run (despite my idiot insurance) always on time and she is an angel. I had really bad dental problems and over the years, we have worked through them.
Personally, Dr. Johnson is a delight and has the best touch i have ever experienced.

I went here after overhearing multiple people in the Post Office on Fulton and Cambridge talk about how great Dr. Johnson is. It turned out to be true! I hadn’t been happy with my previous dentist, and since I don’t have insurance but DO have enough dental problems that biannual cleanings are a must for me, I figured I’d give her a try.
It’s $ 150 for X-​rays, exam, and cleaning — standard cost. I came a few minutes early to fill out paperwork and was in the chair at exactly the scheduled time of my appointment. Dr. Johnson herself cleaned my teeth, which was a nice change from the norm — usually the dentist makes a 5 minute (if that) appearance to check in after one of their hygienists has already done the cleaning.
She was very kind and gentle, and took time to explain how I could improve my oral hygiene and routines without being too preachy or making me feel bad about the state of my mouth. It’s rare to enjoy a visit to the dentist, but she really did make it as pleasurable experience as possible. I’ll definitely be back!
(I think the out-​of-​pocket cost of a a cleaning without X-​rays is in the $ 75 range — also standard. Sigh. Someday I’ll have insurance.)

Dr. Johnson is GREAT! She’s kind. she tells it like it is… and she will do her best to avoid discomfort. Once she takes your insurance trust me give her a try. She’s always up beat and seems to be in a good mood her personality is contagious. So if you’re nervous about going to the dentist Cambridge Dental should be your rejuvenation visit!

I thought it important to write a review after looking to Unilocal to aid in my dentist selection.
I need to start off by saying that dental visits have always been a little traumatic for me. Even a cleaning strikes fear in my heart. If I could be knocked out for everything from a cleaning to a root canal, I would be, even with the fuzzy, post-​anesthesia glow. I’ve pretty much hated every dentist I’ve ever been to. Via some reviews and a presence on ZocDoc (because who doesn’t love an Internet savvy dentist), I decided to try Cambridge Dental.
My first visit I was taken right away, cleaned and x-​rayed painlessly and told I needed a few fillings. The 2^nd and 3^rd visits required a little longer wait, but it’s a dentists office so I expected it.
The front desk staff was direct but polite and accommodating. The dentists (I’ve seen 2) were quick, careful, thorough and informative. Most appreciatively they were calm and used enough novacaine to keep the procedure quick and painless (my body has some weird aversion to Novacaine. Awesome huh?)
Overall, I didn’t have a severe panic attack when going back for my 2^nd visit. And for me, that’s saying something.

Ugh. It’s always embarrassing when you know you’ve neglected to take care of yourself and you have to go to the doctor and admit it. My teeth were in terrible condition, but finally I forced myself to find a dentist and do something about it.
Since apparently I can’t choose anything that’s more than 10 minutes from my apartment, I found Cambridge Dental and they took my insurance. Sold. I walked in about 5 min before my appt and filled out paper work, and was taken in within 15 minutes or so. The hygienist was a nice young man who was very personable while shoving those sharp pieces of plastic in my mouth to take xrays (seriously, there’s no less painful way to do that?). After that, Dr. Johnson came in and assessed my disaster of a mouth and then cleaned and polished my teeth. I loved that she actually explained everything she was doing and asked me a lot of questions about my oral health. She was friendly and easy to talk to, and quite gentle with the cleaning process.
I guess I shouldn’t blame Dr. Johnson for my 2 987 028 cavities, so overall, she deserves 4 stars. I can’t really think of anything negative about the experience, but I just don’t see how going to the dentist could be a 5-​star occasion. The good news is that I’m no longer terrified to go back for my follow-​ups to get my cavities filled.

since my last check-​up, i’ve gained two holes in my back teeth, a cracked tooth and a dead nerve. the treatment? two fillings, a crown and a root canal, respectively. yes, my dentist has confirmed that three out of the four are stress-​related … thank you previous job for the going-​away gift you gave me!
fuck … me … hard. (butttt, thanks to obama, i can afford my insurance! obamama for life!)
granted i haven’t had the work done yet — i can regale you with the lovely deets when completed — but dr johnson has made the situation go all the more smoother. she didn’t chastise me for missing my last appointment — yup, i was working — and she even praised me for my excellent flossing skills. hey, i didn’t suffer four years of braces, making for a painful adolescence, for nothing. call it a beauty trifecta … i had the braces, glasses and acne.
dr johnson is personable, thoughtful and a great person to talk to. i actually started going to her based on a reco from a former roomie/​BFF from high school 2.5 years ago. she never fails to ask me how that friend is doing (she’s now in dubai), how i’m faring in the ‘hood and what i’ve been up to. we did hit it off from the beginning … meaning, we got along so well that she offered me the possibility of subletting her sweet apartment. my taking over her place never panned out but in doing so, she garnered a fan for life.
dr johnson rocks my socks. i’m glad she’ll be holding my very sweaty hand when i get the root canal in 1.5 weeks. if her practice takes your insurance and you’re in the ‘hood, she’s a great person to go to.
