The people that work here are THE BEST! Incredibly friendly and helpful — always able to make great recommendations based on my limited wine description capabilities and always within the budget I set. The selection is great and they always have a nice variety of chilled wines available. Since this is right around the corner from where I live, I am so grateful this is my local wine shop.

Solid wine store for a quick bottle to go with dinner. Most prices are fair. The staff is friendly as well. Good neighborhood resource.

I found myself in Carroll Gardens for a party and needed to make a pit stop at the liquor store before making my entrance (can’t show up empty handed).
The service here is great! The knowledgable staff was more than happy to assist in my search for a good quality, cheap, malbec, in a very large bottle. They have a «robust» selection… and a variety of jumbo wines bottles. More than the average liquor store.
Needless to say this visit was a success. The result was a rowdy night with friends and money still in my wallet.

I should be the duchess of this place, but… you know how it is when you have so many check-​ins to a certain kind of business that it’s a tad embarrassing? Especially when you don’t live in the city where it’s located…
That place for me would be Carroll Gardens Wines & Liquors. I actually had to squint and see if the gal walking inside in the main biz photo wasn’t me. Sorry, mom! Really, it’s not that bad.
This place has one of my favorite things to drink: Terra, sparkling Malbec (a refreshing bargain at 12.99 a bottle, at that). I can’t seem to find this wine anywhere else, but that’s not the only thing that’s great about this place. You get the impression that it’s been family-​owned for decades (I have no idea if this is true). They really do care about their customers and ask if you need help, without being overbearing. It seems like the kids of the owners work here. Old school Brooklyn all the way.
Oh, and no judgements! Yeah, if they see me a couple times in short time span, it’s more like, «yay, you’re back» rather than «wow, back again?» And let’s say I’m gone for a month at a time, when I return, it’s kind of like «where have you been? We missed you!» The other day I was buying a 750 ML bottle of Titos and the guy was like, «Oh, we’re trying to buy that in pints now because we have so many customers asking for it.» Personally, I don’t ever buy pints or smaller because the point is to have the bottle on my bar (uh, in my freezer), but according to him, ladies on their way to work stop in to grab a pint of vodka.
Really? in the morning on the way to work? Really?!
See, that little antidote has me feeling better about myself now. What a wise, wise man. This is my favorite liquor store in Brooklyn.

Great wine and liquor store in Carroll Gardens. They have a pretty good selection of wine and you can find a lot of the standards here if you’re more of a casual wine drinker.

This IS as good as it gets… for what it is. Friendly, helpful, chatty staff? Yes. A nice selection of inexpensive wines? Yes. A good vibe that makes me like my neighborhood? Yes. Overwritten descriptions of the blackberry/​oak/​grass/​cherry tastes of the wine? No. In fact, no descriptions at all! But just ask for a recommendation, and you’ll be set.
