My recent review of CH Plaza was taken down by Unilocal because another Unilocaler complained about my review so I will write a new review. My experience with CH Plaza has been phenomenal. The owners of this establishment are a kind Korean couple who work extremely hard and do the best to accommodate any dissatisfaction when it comes to clothing articles. They have had this business for over 20 years in this neighborhood and are considered part of the neighborhood. There are several times where I would bring in a shirt with stains, and if the stains did not fully come out, they were more than happy to take it back, and try again. If the stain did not come out, I was totally understanding because not all stains are removable, and acknowledged utter defeat of my mistake of spilling wine on my shirt. I would have to disagree with the negative comments made about this business as it is always a pleasure for me.

I only use CH Plaza Dry Cleaners’ services when I have a nice clothing piece I would like to be cleaned and I wouldn’t mind to pay some extra since they are a little pricy for my budget. Overall the experience has been ok. Not great, not horrible… simply mediocre! It’s difficult to communicate with the couple who are the owners due to language barrier, but hey it’s New York. I had one difficult situation where a white silk shirt I brought in had more stains than before. It’s a white silk shirt with dark navy piping all around edges. I did the mistake of not paying attention to the care label & hand washing the shirt with cold water. The navy fabric dye of the piping bleeded to the white parts of the shirt at some parts. I brought in the shirt to show to the owner. The gentleman mentioned he would give a try, but he wouldn’t guarantee for any positive results. I was happy with that response. Worse scenario my shirt would have the same navy stains. However, when I went to pick it up, not only the number of the navy stains increased, but also new yellow ones appeared. When I asked for further information, the owner was very defensive instead of explaining what could have caused that. Bottom line is things like this happen all the time with clothes & dry cleaners. There are so many variables, the kind of fabric, the dye, the chemical used during dry clean, so it wouldn’t be fair to keep only the dry cleaner liable for the result. However, I don’t believe their price points are aligned with the quality of their services or their expertise level. They do a standard medium care for the clothes, nothing extra special.
