Cheeseburger Special Deal = Buy 2 for $ 3…a deal I couldn’t resist. The cheeseburger tasted alright… better than McDonalds, but not better than Shake Shack. The onions, pickle, and sauce in the cheeseburger really gave the meal a boost and complimented each other quite well. Space here is limited; it is suggested to eat elsewhere since the space seems ratchet… it’s usually filled with high school kids from god knows where…

I asked for salt for my fries. Instead, all I got was a salty attitude from the Indian guy behind the counter. And they didn’t even have napkins either. The food is standard fast food.

Fries are addicting. Burgers are cheap(like 2 for $ 3) but very small and taste worse than Burger King’s. No smoothies when we went at ~8pm. Private outdoor patio in the back has lots of potential. Hope they clean it up.

One word to define checkers: ghetto. Chicken bites & fries combo box was $ 3. Dirt cheap but you get what you pay for. Still a step up from McDonald’s I guess.

Ordered food for the first time from Checkers and this happened to be the one I went to. Wasn’t expecting a gourmet burger but boy was this worse than McDonalds. Ordered a Checker double with no cheese. My burger came with out cheese(just as I ordered) but I guess they figured I wouldn’t like the standard burger toppings such as tomatoes, onions, lettuce, mayo so they omitted those as well for me. All my burger was topped with was ketchup and two disgusting pieces of pickles. Never again.

After working up an appetite at the Transit museum we ran here for lunch. I got the bacon cheeseburger, nephew got a kids cheeseburger. We were pleased BUT he needed a larger portion. Luckily my meal came with tons of fries and we shared those. I loved the bacon and the fresh toppings. Like stuff was crispy. The fries were different from other places and tasted really good. Overall a great stop, only ruined by the fact that we sat on the first floor not realizing there was more seating available and the cold kept seeping in and cold fries are never sexy.

There’s nothing spectacular about Checkers, but there’s nothing wrong with them either. I usually hit this spot after a jaunt at the bookstore or movie theater across the street. Hey, it’s cheap, and I don’t have it so much that I get sick of it. Also, the fries are undeniably bomb.

Believe me, I was very skeptical when walking in. It does look a bit run down indoors, but the Deep Sea Double Fish sandwich was worth the risk. The fish fillet actually looked like fish, but the generic kind across the street at MCD. And the bun was toasted and crispy. For a little more than $ 3, I was happy for my day worth of protein. 5 stars for the food.

What can I say — cheap oily salty tasty unhealthy food. It’s something when I don’t feel like McDonald’s. Service is often slow.

What am I supposed to say… It’s Checkers! Always loved them when I lived down south… The food was good… The people were nice… The store itself is a bit rundown and the seats are torn… Again…It’s Checkers!

Okay i visited this resturant a few days ago, the food there was great, the lines and wait time to collect your order was horabble, for a fast food resturant it need to speed up the orders, What impressed me the most was the manager dispute infont of the customers with her casher, i had to asked myself how can a child with a getto attitute manger a shift, and treat her employee like that, really it was like if she was bulling the casher instead of training and development of that employee, The so called litter girl who is the shift leader need to really work on her management skills and focus on deliving her order faster. Overall that type of abuse from shift leader to employees is no placed for my money.

I went there today for dinner. I had a bacon burger. It was decent and oily like it should be for a burger that is. It came with red onions, pickles, and cheese. I also got an order of fries. Man were they crispy delicious! My hubby opted for the spicy chicken sandwich which came with fresh lettuce. It was not bad – I had bite to check it out. I think that the items arrived in a timely manner. More than that, the price is more affordable than McD’s. One thing that I would prefer is that they have a bathroom – unless they do and I did not see it?

This place NEVER has grilled chicken. After coming here a few times and asking for the grilled chicken sandwich and being told that the grill was off… I was annoyed and asked them if they EVER had it… the young women behind the register rolled her eyes and told me no. Smh. If you don’t have a menu item available. ever. you should take it off the menu!!! It’s highly annoying. Hamburgers are gross, and tenders are hard. The saving grace for checkers is their seasoned fries and milk shakes.

I’ve been here far too many times… why is it that after 5 drinks my brain turns into one huge craving for grease and salt? Whatever the reason, I really enjoy Checkers(even sober!) for their seasoned fries and burgers. I love the Cheese Double Cheese and fully loaded fries(fries with bacon, ranch dressing, and cheese). Don’t look at the calorie counts, what’s the point? **Essentially, this is the ghetto McDonald’s, both in terms of patrons and prices. So yeah, swagger in accordingly.

Ghetto area but the place has always been clean, the hours are amazing(open until 2 or 3am depending on the day), and the fries are addictive. I’ve been twice now late at night and they have to make the fries fresh for me so both times theyve been piping hot and delicious, they’re covered in a seasoned batter that makes me coming back. It’s interesting to see a fast food chain have burgers, hotdogs, and wings though I wouldn’t go out of your way for any of those here. I had a burger, it was about the same as a McDonalds burger, meh but dirt cheap. Shakes are good but not as good as McDonalds or Burger King. It’s really the fries that makes Checkers stand out(and the hours). Also they actually have a outdoor private patio! Sadly it closes at a certain hour so I’ve only snuck a peek at it but it’s something worth mentioning.

I’ve been coming to this Checkers for the past 2 months after school and when I really need something quick, cheap, and hearty greasy goodness I go here! I normally get the 2 for $ 4 Spicy Chicken sandwich, with small fries, and a 16oz coke cherry soda. Then replaced the spicy chicken sandwich for their new BIGCHICKEN which is also 2 for $ 4. It’s supposedly a pound of fried crispy chicken on two big pieces of toasted soft bread(not a bun!) with shredded lettuce and mayo on both sides. I could honestly never finish up the 2nd sandwich and also been ordering medium fries(I’m a piggy) because… it’s checkers fries… try it, and you know what I mean. I always go for their version of a $ 1 menu, even though some items are around $ 1.19. I do go to a very expensive college near by so I really stretch out my dollar. At exactly 12pm this place gets crowded, because of the lunch hour rush but you’ll still be able to order and pickup your food. You’ll still be able to seat and dine in, they do have the lonely seats against the wall, the other side tables and chairs, and an out door patio. This place is certainly better then McDonald’s on Court st because I see they have security guards waiting outside the place… that doesn’t seem to friendly for me. Stick with this Checkers, they have better deals, and better prices. You really get a lot more for the money. Quick tips: their $ 2 chicken bites is a bit bland but I still get my usual. my addiction nom nom nom not so crowded thank god! so glad there is a checkers in a good neighborhood. I was starving and I was in need for food. Small little place but not so crowded at all!

Checkers food is not the greatest but they have the best cheese fries hands down! also they are the only fast food chain that has a banana milk shake! otherwise I don’t eat much of anything else on the menu to be honest…

Crunch, crunch, crunch! Ok folks, this is the first time that I’ve ever munched at a Checkers, and this is my experience with this particular fast food chain. The restaurant was clean, well lit, with comfty seating, nice service. I ordered the number 1,(I forgot what its called, sorry). Basically it was burger with two patties, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, ketchup and red onion with a pickle here and there. The fries were deep fried and extra crispity. The burger was aight, but I must admit, I love their crunchy fries. By far the best fries I ever had! To me the burger was bland and boring, but their fries is what I love from Checkers. If any Unilocalers, have been to Checkers which burger would you recommend, because to me the #1was boring.

Maybe my expectations have hit rock bottom when it comes to the downtown Brooklyn area where I work, but I had literally zero to no high expectations for this place when I walked in. During my break from work I had wandered over to Court street to hit the bank and the bookstore when I spotted Checkers across the street. After surmising that there wasn’t really anything else I was interested in along this strip, I tentatively walked in and *shifty eyes* glanced around… Okay, a little dirty, but that’s to be expected in Brooklyn. I walked up the counter and allowed two other people to go in front of me as I was deciding what I wanted. I turned to the cashier, and lo and behold! She was friendly! Even smiling! I looked around thinking«what the…» and placed my order. She punched it in without incident and even asked if I wanted cheese on it(I’m not sure who puts cheese on a spicy chicken sandwich, but it ain’t me). The total was $ 5.97 for the chicken sandwich, fries, and 32 oz. drink, and I had another«what the…» moment as I dug the change out of my pocket. I was a couple cents short in order to break a $ 20 evenly and she took it, said«that’s fine,» and gave me the $ 15 back no questions asked. Now my reaction is «WHAT the… how is this happening?» Less than five minutes later, my food was ready. The cashier was still friendly, and I walked out feeling a little overwhelmed at the treatment I’d just received. I ate my spicy chicken sandwich, sans the optional cheese, and fries and actually thought it tasted pretty good. When I’m in the mood for an artery clogging meal again, I’ll have to stop by and try it out again.
