The Color Lab 1 Hair Salon is a unique hair place located at 6215 8^th Avenue, Brooklyn New York innovated by Helen, Joanne and Jeff, founder and hair stylists of the original Shine Hair Salon on 6001 8^th Avenue that has been in business for 25 years.

Shortly after migrating to New York City, Helen partnered with two other hairstylists and grand-​opened Elegance Beauty Salon, also known as Shine Hair Salon today, on 8^th Avenue — Brooklyn in 1992.

While being a professional hairstylist as well as a business owner, it was not enough for Helen as she desired for more multidimensional knowledge into certain specialties within hairdressing. Helen approaches hair-​coloring with the discerning eye of a fine artist. She has attended many seminars and classes between L. A & NYC to study the art of hair-​coloring, and was eventually rewarded multiple certificates from the American Board of Certified Haircolorists.

Helen prided herself in delivering the most as stylish & as trendiest looks as possible, and she felt that she could go above and beyond with that attitude; thus Helen went on to attend Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T) for education in fashion to compliment her rich knowledge as a professional hairstylist.
