My co-workers and I ordered delivery from here before and I enjoyed it. The food was decent and so were the portions. I suggested to my boyfriend that we order dinner from here and I saw online they accept online orders. I placed our order and a few minutes later the restaurant calls me to let me know they won’t deliver to me because I am too far. Okay, I understand that and I will gladly have my order cancelled and get a refund. But the lady who called me was rude to me. I did not need to be told twice that I am too far and they won’t deliver to me. She even said to me «Listen– you are too far». Lady I get it– just refund me my money then! The way she spoke to me was nasty and short. She has an attitude. Will never order from here.

I returned to this place twice after my initial review. I spoke to the owner. She assured me that it was mistake that happened when they programed the register. And on both occasions I’ve gotten a fair service fee charged. The food is amazing. Grilled heart is delicious.

I’ve tried a few things form them and always picked my food up. Not a fan of the décor, but haven’t dined in much either. I always order their cubed beef with cilantro and rice. An amazing dish indeed. They deliver quickly and their food selection is great.

Wonderful place! From the outside it looks like a hole-in-the-wall burger place — the window has pictures of typical corner deli items like burgers and egg sandwiches and such — but it is a great Peruvian restaurant, mostly emphasizing seafood. Best seafood ceviche I’ve had. Other excellent choices are the seafood soup, the shredded chicken in cheese sauce, the mussels, and the papa a la huancaina(potatoes with cheese sauce). They always bring some roasted corn kernels to snack on. The restaurant is very much a mom-and-pop place, no white tablecloths, but it’s clean and theservice is good and you can bring your own wine. No one will rush you through your meal, which is very much appreciated — it’s always a pleasant and leisurely meal there, and as far as I’m concerned it’s worth traveling across Brooklyn for.

This place is amazing! A little secret located in Coney Island Ave. The most amazing half chicken w yellow rice and beans, also house green sauce to die for. A weekly staple for me and my family.

This place is such a scam! I came here because a friend said the lunch specials are bang for the buck, so today I didn’t know what to eat and decided to give it a try. Looking at the lunch special offer there is at least 10 items listed, so I decided to go with the lomo Saltado. When I ordered she told me it wasn’t available. Only the have beef stew and beef tripe was available today. Later she told that this dish is available for the regular menu price… Seriously what’s the point of even having a lunch special menu and not even honoring it. Since we’re here already we decided to just give it a try. We got the lomo Saltado it was super greasy and salty. The beef was also overcooked and dry. Definitely not coming back here. Next time I’m craving Peruvian food I rather drive farther to Pio Pio.

The food is good but sadly inconsistent. Roasted chicken is yummy, but the rice is dried out and clumpy. The avocado salad is nice and fresh. The one thing that saves it is the green Peruvian sauce. Love it! The owner at times doesn’t like to give u more than one tho. definitely not rating the restaurant based on her attitude or customer service.

Quite disappointed with today’s visit. It was always delicious and fresh but today might be a bad day for them. The usual lady that was in the front was replaced by an older lady who was a doozy with a side of attitude. Lunch time special was limited. There was like 10 items listed but only 3 was available as the lunch special. Out of whim I chose the available ones which was chicken stew rice and beef stew rice. The lady seemed impatient with me ordering to go. Btw count your change! Food was bland today and extremely dry as of it’s been there for a while and they just heated it up. Rice was hard and dry. The chicken stew didn’t look appetizing at all as it only had sauce and 1 drumstick with half of a potato. The beef stew had plenty of beef pieces but lacking flavor other than salt. The lunch special had a side of soup and can of soda included. Soda was good as given. Soup was hearty and peppery. The wait time for today was a lot shorter compared to the previous visits. Hopefully my next visit will be better with fresher food.

Came back with friends, but food lacked quality and taste $ 12 seafood ceviche was OVERLY salted, ruined the fresh fish. Fish was tough, ½ of it went to the garbage. It was served with boiled old carrots, big husky corn and ½ potato… Not very appetizing $ 12 cheesy chicken with rice, but the chef HIDES a whole potato Underneath the cheesy chicken and so we paid more for the potato. & not the cheesy chicken with rice.

Delicious wholesome food, friendly atmosphere and great service. We ordered a chicken combo and a burrito for the kids. Juicy, nicely seasoned chicken, fresh salad, perfectly cooked yellow rice — my mouth waters just writing about it. Their burritos are huge! Kids were only able to eat half of it. The best part — a full bottle of aji sauce is brought to the table! Yes, they deliver too.

OK, I did not eat here. My one star review is going up because I stopped in last night, a little after 9PM to order take out. Their menu clearly states they are open until 2AM on Thursday. The door wasn’t locked and as I started to open it I saw a few people sitting around chatting. They appeared to be workers. I opened the door and asked for take out and was told that they are closed. Huh? Maybe if I ever get to actually eat here, I will update this review.

It is simple. The food is wonderful, tasty, great portion and prices. …but the lady that owns and runs the place is the rudest person on this planet. I still go but O… Lord she is rude, hunts up on the phone without letting you speak, and if you call back get ready because she will put you on hold for about 20 mint I think she does it on purpose because well she has done it to me about 3 times. In person it might be even more unpleasant. My family can’t even stand going to pick up the food so I am stuck doing it. Honestly it is so bad I am actually taking the time to write it. The service is so unpleasant that no matter how good the food is I can’t give them more then 3 stars and I’m been generous.

Enjoyed the chicken, always do. Tamales are moist and tasty. Fried plantains not overly oily. Large portions. Delivery or take out, I can’t complain. At least it’s not the monotony of rattled off greetings at fast food restaurants. I will keep enjoying the great food.

Stopped going there the owner is very rude and really disrespectful its unfortunate that the food is so tasty and the service is so brute. I believe the owner passes on her bitterness to her staff and they hate working there(this may only be my personal opinion but sheeeesh)

RUDE! DISRESPECTFUL ! TELLYOURWAITRESSTOGETSOMEMANNERS. EITHERGIVEHERTRAININGINPEOPLESKILLSORFIREHER! IFYOUCAREABOUTTHECONTINUEDSUCCESSOFYOURBUSINESS. I have been coming here for QUITE some time. I was always a fan of the food here. I figured the good food made up for the lack of air conditioning & air circulation in this place. However on Monday I had the most offensive and discourteous experience at the hands of the ill-mannered waitress. I came inside with it being alot more busy than I have ever seen it in the past. You can already tell the waitress was frustrated. Several attempts to get her attention where she bolted right by me, I ended up ordering my food. I asked for a chicken quesedilla and the dinner special fried rice that’s clearly on the menu.(comes with a free soda) She takes the order. Brings me my soda and continues her frantic work. 25 minutes goes by and she approaches my table telling me that because it’s some sort of Peruvian holiday. I can’t get the fried rice at the Dinner special price. It has to be at full price. I ask her why she didn’t tell me this when I first ordered? She replied the cook just saw the order(apparently the cook makes the managerial decisions in this place). She says the food is pretty much ready and if I want it or not(at full price) I was hungry and told her fine just bring it out. 5 Minutes goes by. Then another 10 minutes. Still no food… I pay for my soda(the ONLY thing that was given to me in a time span of 45 minutes). I get up and leave. What irks me is that I consider myself a regular here. I ALWAYS tip at least 20% when I eat there, almost regardless of the service. Congratulations on losing a customer. I will never come here again!

An underrated gem. The portions are enormous, we couldn’t split a plate of calamari between the three of us who all love it. We had a seafood plate as well, and something else Peruvian I wish I could remember how to say. Regardless, all was hearty and flavorful and perfect to split between a few people. The woman who worked there was very sweet and homely, felt like we were eating at an aunt’s house. Everyone left a happy camper!

When you think Gravesend, you normally think Russian, hardly Peruvian. This place sticks out. That, coupled with a 4.5 star rating on Unilocal, put this place on my bookmarks to try. We came, we saw, we ate, we loved. The restaurant itself is not fancy. I think there were maybe 3 or 4 tables, max. It looked a little old, but the décor was not distasteful. It was actually a pretty pleasant place to eat. The menu is basically a play-by-play from the Peruvian play book. The only thing notably missing was cuy and alpaca(I’m not sure it’s legal to sell cuy as food here anyhow). Other than that, we saw pretty much everything we ate on our 3 week trip to Peru. Service was a little lacking. I asked our waitress what was recommended, since I wanted to eat everything on the menu(but obviously couldn’t). She didn’t have any recommendations because, she explained, she was a) a Columbian, and b) a vegetarian. Hey, that’s cool. No problem. But she said it nastily and with a sour face. Unfortunately, she was inattentive and curt with us throughout the whole meal. I ended up tipping her $ 10 on a $ 80 meal. At one point she started arguing with me about chicha(she kept insisting there was only one type of chicha, but we had 4 on our trip to Peru and I know of at least 6 that exist). Other reviewers seem to like the service, so maybe we caught a new waitress. Ceviche: A– This is one of Peru’s signature dishes, and they’re very proud of it. This ceviche is nearly perfect. I did have one piece of fish which wasn’t marinated fully, but that could happen to anyone, so I won’t hold it against them. The onions weren’t completely marinated either. They had a little bit of a raw onion bite to them. Other than these two stumbling points, the ceviche was heavenly. Causa con Camarones: A– Two layers of spiced whipped Peruvian potatoes with a layer of shrimp salad between them. As good as any causa I’ve had in Peru. As with Peruvian causa, you don’t want to order this dish as a main course because the portions are huge, and while it’s delicious, eating an entire plate of causa can be monotonous. Aji de Gallina: A– Portion was huge and this was well made. Very creamy and the chicken was very soft. Beef Seco: B+ The meal itself was excellent. Most beef chunks were soft and succulent. A couple were a little hard. The meal came with refried beans, which I thought was a little strange(isn’t that Mexican?) Although I loved the dish, and it was a great beef stew, it didn’t taste strongly like beef seco per se. It tasted like excellent beef stew. I’ve had much more beef seco tasting beef seco at Urubamba in Queens. You can see the refried beans in my picture: Also, take note that the green part of the plate is the seco itself. Everything else is refried beans. There really isn’t enough seco here, and what seco there is gets a swamped by the beans(not to mention the seco is a little bland to begin with) Like I said: great beef stew, just not a great beef seco. Chicken a la Brasa: B+ The breast meat was a little dry but the rest of the chicken was moist and juicy. This indicates the chicken was cooked incorrectly. A correctly cooked rotisserie chicken will have nicely cooked dark meat and juicy white meat. The rest of the chicken was fantastic. Nicely spiced and well cooked. You can actually see the white meat is much too dry in my picture:
