Das Upholstery

Brought in my couch cushion to fix the buttons that had popped off. It took them all of 5 mins to do and wasn’t that expensive either. Great service all around!

We have a chair that has been in the family forever. Now living in a new, CATFREE place, the chair needed some love. Friends have used DAS in the past, and said his workmanship is top notch. The chair looks amazing. The attention to detail probably made the chair look better than it was when new eons ago.

I had my Roche Bobois sofa seat cushion reupholstered by Das. The entire transaction was easily handled by email and phone. He picked up and delivered from/​to Manhattan. The work was done on time and the finished piece looks fantastic.
I admittedly did not price shop so don’t know how his prices compare but am pleased with the service and my new seat cushion which is the basis for my rating.

I brought an old. okay, very old, goat skin ottoman with separated stitching to Das Upholstery after another shop told me that the material was too old to sew back together.
Das looked at it and agreed that it was too old to be stitched but if I wanted, he could put fabric behind the material and glue it back together. He said it would not look like new but it should work.
When I picked up the ottoman today there were areas still separated and when I got home I discovered that one area that was separated had not been touched. I called the shop, Das apologized and told me to bring the ottoman back in.
When I brought it back, he said he would also try again to seal the areas he had attempted to fix and had separated. He re-​glued the separated areas and found some small separations that I had not found.
While I wish I did not have to have made the extra trip to the store, it gave me the opportunity to see that Das stands behind his work, is willing to admit and fix his mistakes and that is a place I want to take my business!

This was my first time having anything reupholstered. I picked up a chair left out in the garbage and was repulsed by the old seat that was on it. I brought it to Das, he created an entire new seat, charged me less than anywhere else I contacted, did a beautiful job, and it was ready the next day. I don’t know how I could justify trying to use a glue gun to reupholster any future seats after seeing his work. I would definitely go back.
