De Wine Spot

I love this place! So close to my apartment and the people that work there are great.
They have a nice selection of wine and alcohol for some pretty reasonable prices.
All I have to say is thanks De Wine Spot!

I have been multiple times as it’s a great location to where I live. I’ve had great experiences with a couple of the staff members, really helpful, friendly, with nice selection of wines and spirits. But the poor rating is for the terrible experiences I’ve had with one staff member– the curly haired redhead. He keeps me from wanting to give the establishment my money. He might be friendly with other customers, but I’ve been practically ignored until my credit card flashes in his front of his eye. The blonde with the beard and the wavy haired brunette are great, however.

Reasonable prices, friendly staff who don’t pressure you into a purchase while making recommendations, and free wine tastings every day from 6:30 — 9:30. What’s not to love?

I’ve been into rosé this summer and this wine store has a great selection of delicious chilled wine for a reasonable price. They also have tons of reds, whites, and hard liquor too. The customer service is great, not pushy at all, but if you need help picking a bottle someone is always there with words of wisdom.

My experience with De Wine Spot has only been online. Solid wine/​spirits selection and amazing customer service. I randomly emailed about my order at 1am and received an answer within minutes, which was unnecessary but certainly appreciated. I was concerned about getting my order by a certain date and they fast-​tracked the delivery to make sure I received it in time. Any bulk orders I make in the future will be through them.

The wine selection is perfect. It’s so easy to shop there and the there’s always something good for any price range I’m in. When I’m broke there’s a good cheap bottle and when I’m treating myself there’s always a something amazing for a good price. The staff is like the wine selection. Eclectic and something for everyone. The owner knows his stuff and so does the staff. Everyone is approachable and no question is too complicated or too simple. I’ve worked at wine and spirits stores before so that Alex person who is moaning about god knows what doesn’t know bourbon from scotch or white to rose. He should stick to liquor stores with bullet proof windows. In the meantime, this is a wine shop that reflects how great the neighborhood is and caters to the eclectic locals. Bam!

Cute little store with well stocked selection of wines. They sell the best mimosa ever and it comes in a can. Yes it comes in a can. And you can buy them cold so you can walk around the streets drinking cold mimosas which is awesome.

Great selection of wine in all price ranges. Also happy that they have plenty of chilled wine ready (again, all price ranges) if you need to pick something up in a hurry. Super friendly and helpful staff! I love this little gem of a wine shop.

Went in there looking for Brooklyn Republic Vodka for a party I was going to go to, they sold out and no one new when it will be available there. Had to find it some place else.
Disappointed, they were trying to push some other thing.
The spirits webside showed it was sold at de vine.
Oh, well.
Thank god for bottle shop!

Great neighborhood spot with lots of quality affordable options!

I have to agree with the other reviewer about the obvious competitor’s one star review. De Wine spot is like an oasis. it’a beautiful in there, spotless and everything is well displayed. They cater to the immediate community, and locals stop in all the time. The staff is very friendly, and seem to have a relationship with many customers which keeps them coming back. The selection is great, there are alot of cheap options and they have a lot of whiskeys and liquors. I’ve actually never seen the hugestt bottle of bulleit and they have it.

Been seeing high ratings for this place. Let’s lay down some truth here. Nobody who reviewed this place knows jack about wine. They don’t know shit about margins, they don’t know about regions, and they don’t know about what wine should smell or taste like. This place has, hands down, the worst selection of wine in Brooklyn besides that shitty liquor store on Metropolitan that offers some Yellowtail to go along with its rum and vodka displays.
I don’t know whether it’s the storage as well as the crappy wine buyer (it’s probably both), but I can assure you that the vast majority of the time, you will be disappointed by what you purchase here. I used to work as an import buyer at a high end shop, and I know my stuff well enough to tell anyone and everyone — steer clear. The whites are thin and uninteresting, and overpriced; the reds are either cheaply produced, or flabby, and overpriced. If you’re into disappointment, and you want to spend about $ 3 more on a bottle than you should every time you buy a bottle, shop here. Otherwise, go anywhere else. Even D.O.C. is better than this awful wine shop.

Homegirl and I needed some spirits. She lives in the neighborhood, so we just walked a few short blocks and arrived here.
We decided to pick up two bottles of wine, one white and the other red. I was in the mood for a Sancerre and she picked out a Tempranillo.
The Sancerre was pretty good. Dry and crisp. The only complaint? The cork was all messed up, I think it had rotted out. Yes, there is a cork shortage in the world. But come on people, then just put a twist off on it. What is this world coming to?
Oh yea, this place also has some great sakes, we weren’t in the mood for that, but maybe next time…

Love this place. The staff is always really nice and they have a great wine selection at good prices. I always to for a nice Prosecco when I’ve had a bad week, they have a great brand called Hi! — love it!

Aesthetically pleasing setup, reasonable prices and the owner’s super friendly. Even if they don’t have a specific bottle (shop’s small), the owner’s knowledgeable about comparable selections in his collection; he was very helpful and I found some new liquid loves! Ultimately, if you’re in the area looking for wine, I’m not sure why you’d go anywhere else (for one, I’m pretty sure it’s the only one of its kind, which is fine with me!).

Recently taken over by new owners and the selection is killer. Great deals on quality wine including one of the best rose collections I have seen in Williamsburg. They also have tastings pretty regularly, go in!

I like it here… they are really friendly and every time I go in something interesting is going on. Good wines, good décor, good people. cheers.

Walk down Lorimer, just a couple of blocks south of Grand, to Ten Eyck and you’ll see the glare of lime green on the corner that is de* wine spot. At first glance, it might seem out of place in this neighborhood as apparently every detail has been painstakingly thought out.
But step inside and you’ll see the same attention to detail in the products and service at de* wine spot. The owners are extremely friendly, laid back, and helpful – and the selection is wide and very reasonably priced. Weekend evenings there are tastings, thankfully with zero pretension.
Say what you will about its name – de*wine spot makes being a wino an affordable and pleasant endeavor. Las Rochas Garnacha for $ 12 a bottle? Glug glug glug, indeed!
