1st times a charm? I thought my guys at dekalb tailor did a great job on a tweed suit I brought in to adjust toward a more fitted look and feel. taking a plaid suit in today for similar adjustments.

ah the tailor goose chase. I wanted to love this place. such a convenient location and good reviews. sadly my experience was not so good. I was promised the work I left them three times and it was not completed any of those times. on one occasion they couldn’t find my clothes for 15 minutes. the work itself was decent but for the amount of time I wasted begging them to do it and the amount of money I spent, I’m sorry to say I won’t be going back. so bummed.

This guy really is 5 stars(his name is Junior). I’ve brought many shirts to him for alteration, all of which have turned out phenomenally. His work is polished and his rates are completely reasonably, but his ideas are his true currency. I’ve been to quite a few tailors who’ve thoughtlessly executed my ridiculous requests all yielding spectacular failure. Not here. Junior gets it. That counts for a lot.

I found the place while looking up tailors in Bushwick and was surprised to not only find a place, but a place with such good reviews. I immediately found a few pieces that needed some tailoring. Not only is the owner/tailor, Junior, nice and personable but his work is great! At first I was highly skeptical of a new tailor, so I took relatively ‘easy’ pieces to tailor(cotton dresses needing hem work). After passing this initial ‘test’ I brought him more difficult pieces(coats, blazers, dresses with delicate fabrics) and was very happy with the work. He specializes in men’s suiting but it seems like he can pretty much handle any sort of tailoring. The prices are reasonable as are his hours. He is always reachable and will even stay later if you will be late picking something up. I am very grateful to have this gem of a shop in my neighborhood.

This place rests just below 4 stars, but over it’s great. Recommended for locals on a budget. The tailor is legit. He knows his craft and will listen to specific and unusual adjustments you request, albeit with some language barriers now and then. He’s very nice, polite, and likes to see you look good. The downside is sometimes his work takes time and he has forgotten to do one or two things when i bring several items to him. But this is a forgivable fault for those of us who like neighborhood joints and honest people. I’ve brought clothes to local laudromats that advertize alterations and have been met wirh rude fakes. This guy is cool! Definitely work a couple of hiccups

Junior is a super nice guy who works really hard for his customers! I’ve taken many items to him for repairs and alterations. The work has been amazing and very professional. Also very reasonably priced.

I moved to Bushwick at the same time Junior Guerrero opened his tailoring business and I’m really grateful to have found him. I have watched his business grow. Now a significant number of people in the neighborhood come to him for all kinds of alterations. Junior has 20 years of experience(I asked him) and knows his way around materials and sewing machines. He does a good job of making my clothes fit perfectly.
