I think doctor Slobodski is a talented enough dentist, however, his office practices are HORRIBLE.
My husband had to return over and over to complete a crown, because each time (not less than five times), the crown somehow «didn’t fit» according to Slobodski. My suspicion is that he didn’t want to install the permanent crown until the entire balance was paid in full. We had no insurance, and we had no problem paying in the past. This is a strange and dangerous practice. No where in any papers did it say that the crown would be held hostage for payment in full. Not to mention what a ridiculous and inconsiderate waste of time!
There was also a rather unscrupulous increase in price on an already finished crown, supposedly the price in gold went up suddenly, and we had to pay the difference. How idiotic is that?

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This place is extremely unprofessional. They take your money and reschedule your appointments. Every time I came in they told me the doctor was an hour late and I had to leave. They don’t do their job in informing you prior to the appointment that the doctor is extremely late. Very disgusting people work here; nasty personalities.

Although the receptionist did not come across as the warmest person upon my first visit, the two dentist I was introduced to Dr. Steve Slobodski and Dr. Jason Liem were amazing and very personable. I have been back at least 5 times now from having root canals, to a surgical procedure to fill ins and I have never left unsatisfied. Dr. Slobodski is my dentist now and I couldn’t be in better hands. He is funny and even allows me to watch movies on the little television screen while he’s drilling my teeth. I was terrified of going to the dentist and now I’m not because of the comfort I feel when I’m there. Also they were very willing to set up payment plans for my procedures and I have since recommended them to anyone who compliments my smile.

We went to Dr. Steve Slobodski for many years, a very good dentist.

For the longest time I refrained from writing this review but now I have to. I have been going to this office for over 17 years, since 1994, back then this office was in its first few years of existence. I was loyal to this office up until a few years ago when one day the receptionist (white) with long greasy brown wavy hair, I forget the name, allocated me to be treated by a young female dentist with a pretty face. She did a lousy job putting in two fillings, leaving them with chiseled unpolished surface on the enamel with multiple hard-​edge corners cutting into my mouth’s inner skin. I returned back with a complain and that grease-​haired receptionist started giving me attitude as if I was to be blamed for this. My regular doctor, Yampolsky, fixed the problem, admitting that she did a lousy job.
Ever since that day this grease-​haired receptionist has been spreading gossip and bad rap about me to the assistant of dr. Yampolsy — Janna, who in turn became treating me with neglect, one time dropping a computer keyboard on my left arm during doctor’s work on my teeth. Why I think it was intentional? Because the appointment prior when I asked for the mirror to see the completed result, this janna made a statement to Yampolsky, «He is not gonna leave you alone that easily», she said it in Russian right in my presence. I said nothing to her but asked the doctor why she’d say something like this, is she not a paid employee? He didn’t care to comment on it. Later that day I called another receptionist in this office, who by the way is a great person and always treats patients professionally with a smile. Her name is Ilona, she was very accommodating and promised that janna will not behave like this because loosing a client for this office means Ilona herself one day may end up without having a job too. Ever since then I have been going to my regular doctor only on the days when this janna is off, to avoid any confrontation, going to the dentist by itself is not the most pleasant of activities.
On March 21^st I was having a metal crown removed by my regular doctor Yampolsky, who gave me couple of anesthetic injections to num the gum area. Within couple of days I had two more injections done by Tatyana who was performing deep-​cleaning on my teeth. After that day I noticed the bottom of my mouth turned from red to grayish. Today, a month a 5 days after that, I still feel numbness in my tongue and there’s no taste sensation during food intake. I did a quick research online to discover that this happens when a lingual nerve in the mouth gets damaged by the injecting needle. This numbness may be temporary or PERMANENT depending on how long the person doesn’t have it treated.
Anyone in this situation would want to find out how to resolve it. I asked my regular doctor Yampolsky about this issue and he said, sometime it may take up to 6 months to go away, and he himself had an issue like this. All this was assuring but not convincing. I decided to give it benefit of the doubt, because waiting for 6 months and then ending up with permanent tongue numbness was my responsibility.
I was passing by the Slobodski office today and decided to come in to find out when exactly those injections were done. Every professional dentist office must have this info, besides I am the patient who goes there. It happened that Ilona was off and I politely asked this grease-​haired receptionist to tell me last 5 appointments and what they were for. She began telling me and then asked why, I told her the issue, she said to wait for dr. Knoll, another doctor in the office, Yampolsky was off, he should be able to tell what to do in my case. I waited for about 20 mins and then she said that I must see my doctor another day when he is here, I said all I need is the dates of when both the crown removal and deep cleaning were performed, she now began giving me attitude that she will not provide this info. I asked the other receptionist, african-​american one, but to no avail. The manager Anna came, a good natured woman, she said lets take a look and she told me the date. During this process the grease-​haired receptionist begins to give me a phone number to go see an oral surgeon, who apparently can fix the issue.
There are hundreds if not thousands of dentist offices in Brooklyn. If you want to get treated professionally, stay away from this one.
After this incident and 17 years of loyalty I have no choice but to go look elsewhere to have my dental care needs met.

I have been going to Dr. Slobodski since I was a little girl so I am pretty familiar with the staff there. It is a nice office where all of the faces are always the same. When was the last time you remember the same receptionist (who is not the mother or wife) has been there for the past 15 or so years?
I will never forget the time I had to get impressions taken for my invisalign, I have an annoying «reflex» during these procedures and long story short it worked out great. I have a perfectly straight smile and with no traumatic experience to show for it.
Like I said before, they are friendly, helpful and always remember me. They work with my insurance which is a plus. Overall, I would never stop coming here.

My frightened 6 yr old loves Dr. Ivetta Krol. She’s soft spoken and reassuring, she never let’s my daughter think she’s «lost control» of the situation, allowing her a few breaks during cleanings. And always educating her (and me) about the importance of maintaining good dental hygiene and what to expect for my child’s age.

not recommended! waited 2 hours for a cleaning. actually watched an entire movie before my cleaning. said i need all this work done when previous dentists and my dentist now say i have very healthy and clean teeth.
