I went to Direct Drive after two places couldn’t fix my power steering issue. Just as a caveat they don’t take credit cards. However if you want great service at a reasonable price this place is great. I will be back.

I had an excellent experience with this place. When I first called, the owner picked up and readily gave me a rough estimate — which was not high at all. Usually when I call an auto shop or mechanic, a grumpy man picks up and I feel crappy for even calling and disturbing them. I was encouraged to bring my car for an exact estimate at my convenience. I came to the shop on a random day and my car was taken in on the spot.
I got my car back quickly; the owner himself even picked me up so I didn’t have to take the train or look for transportation to the shop. I was really worried about the color matching due to the unique color of my beloved m3, the Laguna Seca Blue. The car was washed and upon being lovingly dried, taken outside in the light so that I could inspect it. Jose, who did the body work, was very nice and listened to all of my instructions. He remembered to put on all of the supplied parts and everything came out very nicely. The aftermarket CSL style bumper was especially taken care of and fitted, it wasn’t just slapped on (which is what happened to me with another shop; my bumper even fell off and the shop claimed it was my fault because I didn’t supply some clips). Before I left, they helped me with a seat in the back that would not fold up — it was quickly fixed at no charge.
Finally, when I drove home I noticed my car had even been polished and the swirl marks I had on the hood were gone. Perfect. I will be going back to Direct Drive again!

Had my car repaired here for body work, not happy b/​c paint did not match up. Unfortunately the car was there for close to three weeks and I wanted my car back. I checked it once, checked it again, and still I did not see it matching, I told naham and HE insisted that it did match up. I believe the staff is very good but you definitely have to keep an eye out to check their work. I asked him to do a few things while the car was in the shop, he did a few things i asked but missed half of the things. If you need some mechanical work done, and it’s close by, maybe i would go. But definitely not for body work… Wish i never got the Body Work done here… now i have to drive around with a two toned car… and it sucks! Luckily I have a older car and it doesn’t matter too much. Also, be aware the Naham disappears throughout the day and when you call he is somewhere other than the shop.

I had a great experience at Direct Drive. I called in on a Friday around noon and was able to bring my car right in. They handled a number of miscellaneous issues while I waited: touching up rust spots, checking and cleaning the battery, and doing a vehicle inspection (inspection was completed at another shop in the neighborhood). The price was more than reasonable. Naum (Nahum?) was friendly. I would definitely go back, and would recommend this shop to friends.
I also enjoyed the chance to check out the Borough Park neighborhood.

I just went here for the first time. I had to get my alternator replaced. They said they could fix it in a few hours and they did. The owner is very nice. I will definitely go to them in the future. Great prices.

These guys did a great job on my car this morning. My brakes were shot, and not only did they fix them (they replaced the rotors), they fixed my bumper for free and gave the car the best washing it’s ever had. It’s running smooth and sparkling now, and all of it plus the oil change was less than $ 300. He forgot to put the air filter on the bill, so he threw it in for free.
The shop is located in Borough Park in the heart of an Orthodox neighborhood, so they’re closed Saturday and open Sunday. The owner, a nice, chatty guy from Israel, says that Friday is their slowest day, especially during the summer.
I wish they took credit cards, but other than that, they’re great. They’re definitely my new mechanic. So relieved to have found one in the big bad city! I hate finding new mechanics.
