Dunkin’ Donuts

BEWARE!!! THEY OVERCHARGE AND THEN POCKET THE MONEY!!! I’ve been to this DD site quite a few times, until I noticed that I was being overcharged when I paid with cash. Today, I waited to see if it would happen again, and sure enough it SURELY did! When I confronted the server, the response was a simple «Oh, sorry». Can you say «sorry-​not-​sorry»?! Last time I’ll be frequenting this establishment. And for those who continue to go, make sure you ASK FOR A RECEIPT!

Exactly what you expect from a young, inexperienced, poorly trained, unmotivated minimum wage staff. Also the place of choice for neighborhood vagrants and panhandlers to take a nap or sit outside harassing passers-​by for money. Wish the pharmacy was still there. No one needed another coffee place especially one with such careless employees. Bagelsmith has better bagels and their coffee is just as good. I haven’t compared prices but DD microwaved sandwiches aren’t worth any price they charge.

With the opening of this Dunkin Donuts right off the Bedford L stop, I’m no longer forced to import my slightly watery hot chocolate and oversized blueberry muffin in from the mainland of Manhattan on my way into the office in Brooklyn.
This particular Dunkin Donuts is like the cool, hipster cousin of the rest of the chain. The storefront lacks the signature bubble-​lettered logo, replaced with a muted tan (perhaps temporary?) logo– the inside however remains delightfully bright and tacky. There was no line to order, presumably because the denizens of Brooklyn are holding out on mass produced breakfast food. Not me, I’m happy to order my average-​jo cuppa-​joe without having to pay $ 4 for a small iced coffee livened up with chicory and organic maple syrup harvested by vegan spider monkeys.
My order was rung up and presented to me efficiently by three eager employees. It tasted just as I expected, predictably bland, affordable and just shy of being satisfying. Hey now corporate America, welcome to Williamsburg.
