Hope Ed still isn’t in charge. Used this company for years then when continual (sewer line) problems happened, Ed would curse, scream and argue. Couldn’t believe his unprofessionalism especially for being an owner of a business. Haven’t looked back and thank goodness. Used another, and more honest plumber and couldn’t be more happier. When you pay, he’s happy. When it turns out that doesn’t solve the problem, more cursing, shouting obscenities, and arguments. Look at how he responds to negative situations, enough said.

Had a pipe clogged. Called these guys after reading several positive reviews. They send out a plummer who as very helpful and fixed the issue in no time. Answered all my question and was very pleasant. Came on-​time, and was very professional. Their work is affordable and guaranteed which was important to me.

Faced with a clogged main sewer line and a flooding basement, was referred to Econo Sewer by Petri Plumbing (the weather had them backlogged). Called and got an immediate response, they took down my info and gave me a window later in the afternoon when their tech could show. Econo called me back in a half hour saying that their tech could show earlier. The guy got there, asked me if I knew what the fee was, which I didn’t and he told me the flat fee for the job which was less expensive than I thought. He was very courteous and took care of the problem immediately. Excellent Job!!! I can’t say enough about this level of service.

Can’t speak for their service because 20 minutes after my appointment time, no one had shown up. I called and they wanted me to wait another 20 minutes. I told them when I made the appointment that I do not live at the property and that if they were going to be delayed to please text me. I don’t like rushing to my property only to wait at least 40 minutes. I called another company. I don’t think it’s good business to make a customer wait without telling them.

I had a blocked kitchen drain pipe that I spent an entire Saturday snaking myself to no avail. I was pulling up some nasty gunk, but I just couldn’t get it all out. So when I woke up on Sunday with a stiff back, I threw in the towel and called these guys upon a reco from Plumber Mike in Park Slope.
Econo Sewer are the real deal when it comes to clearing drains. They finished up a job in Manhattan and two pros, Ray and Mike, were at my house within an hour of my calling. They quickly checked out the situation, pulled in the big equipment and within 30 mins they had completely cleared my kitchen drain, and knocked out a slow upstairs shower drain, to boot!
Fast, friendly, and super reasonable– esp. for coming out so quick on a Sunday. Oh, and the 90-​day guarantee and taking credit cards on the spot, was a major plus in my book, too. I will definitely use them again if I ever have an issue with other drains. Done.

I had a blockage in my sewer line on Saturday, 5÷4÷13. I called Roto-​Rooter at about 11:15 pm. They said they’ll send someone within 2 hours to provide a free estimate. The dispatchers indicated they couldn’t give me an estimate until the plumber checks the pipes. In 3 minutes they called to let me know they can’t come until 8am — 10am on Sunday, 5÷5÷13. Thank God for that pause in time! I checked Unilocal for reviews on Roto-​Rooter and they were horrible. I discovered that Econo-​Sewer had consistently good reviews. I called Econo-​Sewer at 8:35am and received a call back from Ed who said someone should arrive by 10:30am. By 10:23am Mike arrived. He checked two traps, cleared the pipe going in and out the house and was done before 11:30am. He reinstalled the basement tub drain stopper that I took off on Saturday. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!! They are no nonsense with reasonable prices.

Completely honest and affordable. This is my second time using Econo-​Sewer, after having a very good first experience with Ed. We called on Christmas Holiday weekend where Ed immediately picked up, promising to come to the house next day, on a SUNDAY, day before Xmas eve. That Ed provided rapid expert service on a holiday schedule, and at no extra charge, made me want to give 10 stars here. We were extremely happy and grateful to have the second toilet working again for our overnight guests arriving from out of town to celebrate with us.
These guys are terrific. Very professional, neat and courteous. and Ed– if you happen to read this– YOU THE MAN! thank you once again. i hug you.

Ed was awesome. Timely, efficient, and clean.
I called him last night after spending my entire Saturday waiting for another company that didn’t show. I stressed that timeliness was an issue for me, and he promised that I would be his first appointment at 9am. This morning he called at 9am, saying the truck was on it’s way, and by 9:30am he was unclogging my bathtub drain. I paid by credit card, and he emailed me a receipt to give to my landlord. Not only that, he cleaned up everything and made sure not to leave my bathroom a mess.
I am quickly learning that a good plumber is hard to find. Econo Sewer is definitely a great service that I would recommend to anyone.

this company’s terrible. they were supposed to come to my apartment today to fix 2 drains, and never showed. they never bothered to call me about it, either. i had to call ed and ask what happened, and he said he was too busy to submit my building’s insurance forms.
so i guess he decided not to show up. or call. seriously, who runs a business like that? i asked for an appointment next week cos hey, drains need to be fixed. he was completely noncommittal and said to call on monday. really?! no thanks.
i certainly would never rely on this company for a plumbing emergency.

Three weeks after putting down a laminate floor in the basement we found water on and under it. We called Econo Sewer and within a couple of hours a plumber showed up. He knew immediately that the problem was caused by a clog in a pipe near the main pipe leading to the city sewer system. He had to cut a hole in the wall panel and the sheetrock to fix the problem. He worked really fast and only charged $ 75. The floor was ruined but things could have been a lot worse.
