Worst color and cut ever. Cost me $ 160! I showed the owner, Michael a photo of the color I wanted which was red with blonde. My hair came out purple! I said trim my hair, he cut around 7 inches off! He was so ride to me. Refused tor reimburse me or only charge me half. I called the police, I felt like I was robbed. I took photos of his license and will pursue legal action.

I usually come here for my hair nails and eyebrows, this area is a predominately white area I’m black with natural hair. The flat irons they have usually don’t get my hair straight so I bring my own and get my hair done for a cheap price. I came today for a wash and flatiron. Some lady argues with me about my flatiron! And told me she didn’t want to do my hair. I’ve been coming here for a few months and have never been talked to like that or passed off from stylist to stylist as I’m sitting there with a wet head. I don’t if she knows how to do black peoples hair but that’s not how you treat a paying customer. I’ll come back and wait for the guy who usually does my hair.

I came in to get my brows waxed, and usually I don’t have an issue with this place. However, I’ve never had an incident where the lady ACCIDENTALLY waxed my stashe off. She had asked me «nares», but because of her Chinese accent I heard clean? — as in clean up my brows. She apologized, but charged me an extra $ 5 for something I didn’t want anyway… She took a total of 2 minutes for my brows, rushed through them, and didn’t even bother to check with the front desk with what I wanted. I’ll be going to the one down the block instead.

I’ve been going there for a few months and on the hold I’ve been satisfied. I only go to one person because he has cut my hair the way I like from day one. Sometimes it may be a little bit shorter than I like but I don’t mind because it grows fast and if it is cut properly I wash it, brush or comb it and I’m gone. The one thing that annoys me is that they speak Chinese very loudly and to me it’s rude and like chalk scraping on a chalk board. I don’t understand how these stores get licenses without speaking English.

I hate to give any place a negative review but i kinda feel that this place only deserves one star, They dig their nails into your scalp when they shampoo you and i asked for a trim my hair was super long (down to my waist) and now it is a little past my shoulders, I said PLEASE TRIM THE ENDS ONLY AND PLEASE DO NOT CUT MY HAIR SHORT, she might have not understood what i was saying, but i am very upset now i have to wait for god knows how long for my hair to grow to its normal length.

Unfortunately no stars today. I have been a client for many years as I live in the neighborhood. I went in today to get my usual «highlights». I told Mike «I’m here for my highlights». He then tells me no highlights base because your roots are too long, And I said thats fine do everything «base and highlights». After 45 to 50 minutes they only did the base and no highlights. So I questioned it. Of course they start talking chinese, laugh and then he offers to do it himself with an attitude. At this point I felt upset and just wanted to go home. I paid the $ 40 for something I didn’t want and didn’t ask for. Not going back again.

Today I got my hair colored here and a hair cut, and I am still so upset about the service that I usually never give bad reviews, but I don’t want this to happen to any other customer. I came in with a picture of a color that i wanted and a hair cut. The owner was rude and pushy. He kept on insisting that the color that he showed to me is the color that I want. To which, I though since he is a provessional he probably knows what he is talking about. He did not. The color came out uneven. Some parts were dark, some light and some are not even colored. When I pointed it out to the owner he said that it was the light shining on me the wrong way!!! I asked the person who cut my hair to give me a side bang. to which he agreed. After he thought he finished cutting my hair, I asked him about my side bang which he forgot to do. he just chopped off a chunk of my hair and didn’t know how to style it. now that I got home, the color is settling in and getting even more gross than it was when i was in the salon. Please do not go there…

Please rethink your decision when needing to get your hair or nails done. Most of the
women here are very nice, especially Gloria& Ivy. The owners could care less about
there clientele. Michael is rude, unprofessional, and could not care less about
his shop or even his employees. The last time I was there I saw cockroaches around the sink area. The owners talk about the customers right in front of them, of
course they are speaking Chinese so they assume no one understands what they are saying, but it it a total disregard for customers who spend money and tip for their
services.

Been here a few times for a trim, mainly long layers and they did a pretty good job. After that, every time I curled my hair, it looked more fab than the actual effort put in and I’ve received lots of compliments. My advice to all new customers is to specify very clearly what you want done before they cut your hair, especially with someone who speaks English and let them do the rest. My stylist was a young lady (named Chance?) but was pretty meticulous about my hair so not sure what all these bad reviews are about. If you expect runway stylists who would give u advice on what to do, this is the wrong place. Run to the salons in the city.

Went there first time to get haircut and blowdry. Worst experience ever! My hairdresser barely spoke English so he misunderstood me and messed my hair up that I was trying to grow longer. He was very clumsy, hurt me few times without even saying sorry. Do not go there!!!

most disgusting place ever. I went to remove my acrylic nails and the lady did not understand me after I told her that I wanted to remove them twice. after she understood, she cursed me in Chinese and charged me an extra 1 $ for not understanding me (removing acrylics s 5 $)
after I chose my color for my regular manicure, she rushed the whole process and only got polish on half my nail. she didn’t even turn on the fan for me to dry my nails. after I asked her to apply a 3^rd coat, she cursed me again.

Been going here for years, was good when I was younger now its not anymore. A few months ago, I wanted to cut my side bangs and the guy did them after drying my hair even thought I reminded him 3 times to cut my bangs, when he did they came out too short and I left very upset. They have since grown out but I thought I can give them a chance to redeem themselves by just getting a blowout. The male owner just didnt give a crap about anything, wanted to rush and finish my hair, didnt look bad but ive had better. At that point I really just wanted to leave. I guess you cant complain too much when a blowout is $ 12, you get what you pay for… Lesson learned.

WORST nail place ever. Don’t get your nails done here…(I learned nails before, so i know if someone is good or not)
just got a gel manicure today and i had to go home and fix the horrible crooked shape of my nail, and also the gel that got stuck everywhere on my cuticles. This lady thats kind of skinny, in her 40s, shoulder length black hair did my nails. worst gel experience of my life!!!
she filed my nails so hard that it hurts, and file way too much on the corners; one side is straight, the other side is round –_​_​_​_​_​-​. did a horrible job on cutting my cuticles also. there are bubbles and missing spots on the gel polish.

Not a bad place. The place seems kinda grungy, but for 12.99 mani-​pedis, you get what you pay for.

Ever since may left this place will never be the same she opened up her own salon supposedly in Staten Island and every single time you called and I asked for may they told you she was on vacation in China bunch of BS!

If it is possible to give negative stars, then I would give –10.
I walked into the store for a manicure and there was a mist of smoke (not cigarette), as if I was in a casino without the scent. I proceeded to choose my color. Not even a minute, this lady rushed me to sit. Seriously, calm down… you will get your business. The nightmare started when I sat down. THIS IS NOT A TEST, so why the rush? I understand more customers, equals more tips but do not give me an experience from hell.
Here is a list of my manicure experience:
* Price-​$ 7 (Charged me $ 5 extra to remove the gel manicure I had on my nails… wtf… girls save your money. Dip cotton into acetone and wrap your fingernails with foil.)
* Sanitation-​DISGUSTING (The towel beneath my hands still had the prior customer’s nails and residue… it is not that expensive to replace another bounty tissue. Better yet, I am not sure if the tools are even clean.)
* Efficiency-​10 minutes (Normally it is 20 – 30.)
* Appearance-​Looks decent
* Quality-Let’s see in 2 days
* Pain-​PAINFUL (Why is there even a pain category?)
Here are some tips for the workers there:
* Do not sand customers’ fingernails when you are supposed to file them.
* Do not paint like you are white outing.
* Do not clean nails like you are cleaning the toilet.
* Focus on cutting my nails instead of your previous customers that were supposed to tip you. You will eventually get the tip. Thanks for making 3 of my fingers bleed.
What I tipped on the spot:
$ 2. Call me cheap if you want but I tipped 28.6% (15%-20% is NY’s standard) according to my calculations. I am never a terrible tipper but this lady deserved nothing. This store deserved none of my business.

First review on Unilocal.I am completely speechless. Spent $ 100 for coloring and trimming. After bleaching my hair (the woman who also washed my hair, so I am not sure if she is even a stylist), the male owner (I believe) of this salon blew dry my hair! I could only call the way he blow dry was brutal! He doesn’t care if your hair is still wet and because it just got bleached, it would all tangled up! He yanked my hair with the brush while blow drying for like 15 mins. My scalp hurt so much that even a slight touch on my hair would pain me. I am going to skip how they didn’t bother to even check with you during the whole dyeing process and how the owner complained multiple times that it is a loss to take my business because I got so much hair and I have had dyed my hair before so it is hard to dye again (not sure how this works… but okay?!). Anyways, the result was that the color looks like brown more than purple. And what is worse than that? I was afraid that I will wash out the purple color so I waited 3 days before I wash my hair. Guess what? I didn’t even put shampoo on my dyed area but the purple was completely gone! Seriously? 100 dollars for 3 days of brownish purple hair? I will go argue with them tomorrow if I have time. But I doubt they will do anything about it since they are known to have bad customer service according to the other review. Please avoid going here… unless you just want to have your hair trimmed. (BTW, not sure if their credit card machine was really broken or just pretending to be broken. I had to pay them cash =_=)

Came here for a simple manicure because I was waiting for my bf to get his haircut. Worst decision ever. So many things went wrong I think it would be easiest to list my laments:
— my nails were cut way too short even though I explicitly asked for them to be kept long
— when the girl filed my nails she was sawing my fingertips with a vengeance. There is no need to use carpenter strength! Ironically despite filing the skin off my fingertips, my nails are still jagged to the touch.
— she cut my cuticles way too much. I had to tell her three times to stop because I was nearly bleeding but this didn’t make her go easier on my other fingers.
— the nail color was unevenly applied so I have a lot of missing spots in the corners or the sides
— just because the top coat is clear doesn’t mean it should be applied to my entire first knuckle. My nail and fingertips are stuck together now.
— to top it all off, she was super distracted and kept looking around while filing and painting my nails.
If you’re in the neighborhood in search for a manicure I would highly advise against this salon. Or at least if you get the girl with the jade bangle I would ask for someone else.

I came here to get a manicure around my neighborhood because I was pressed for time (hungry and wanted to go home to dinner). I didn’t make it known that I was in a rush so the manicurist would do a good job. The manicurist I got was in the middle of coloring her hair (she still needed to wash it out). Before I continue my critique, I must note that the manicure was only $ 7. I generously tipped $ 3 (this was before the painting started).
Overall, my manicure was slightly below satisfied (considering the price). Do not come here if you are planning to catch up with your friends. They do have pedicure stations set up next to each other. Their manicure stations are all in one row. My manicurist was definitely distracted. She would take her eyes off my nails sometimes to talk to her colleagues while painting my nails. I wouldn’t mind if she was still neat. I wasn’t able to see all the mistakes when I was there because the lighting was not great there. Now, I can see the uneven layers of polish and some unpainted spots. Also, the tip of my nails still needed to be filed a tiny bit more (it was still a bit ragged on the tip).
Random tip: They have bundle pricing for their manicures and pedicures packages (a bit more expensive from Friday to Sunday if I remember correctly).

The first thing you notice when you walk in this place is it’s size. The salon chairs arranged in two rows could definitely fit a small class. The wait time from sitting your bottom down on the elevated chair to scissors grazing through your hair almost seemed too pleasant for an impatient humbug like me.
I admit, I tend to be very picky and tyrannical about cutting my hair. Peter (the stylist) took every one of my requests without any frustration or annoying facial gestures. He continuously asked me if he was doing okay and whether the section was too short or needed more work. He even suggested tips on keeping my hair… sensational? haha
I’ll definitely try and stop myself from coming back every time my bangs get too lengthy, or have a problem with my hair gel… but hey good service is good service!
