Welcome to Fireflies. Fireflies provides a new light for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Sessions at Fireflies involve a blend of TaeKwonDo, music/​movement, balance, stretching, & breathing exercises all guided by Applied Behavior Analysis. The goal of each session is to teach, via the

ABA method, the major tenets of TaeKwonDo: Self-​Control, Courtesy, Integrity, Determination, & the Indomitable Spirit.

We will work with your child’s OT, PT, & other therapist to make sure our program is in line with what they recommend for your child.

At Fireflies, we believe the study of martial arts can help a child with autism build strong bridges between mind & body, between the child’s inside self & the world outside. TaeKwonDo can bring about a sense of calmness & peace, both physically & spiritually, that increases focus, reduces stress/​anxiety/​aggression, prevents or minimizes «meltdowns», and helps the child with autism progress more smoothly along their often rocky path.
