Dr. Freeman is the best eye doctor I’ve ever been to! Great bedside manner and he really goes to bat for you. I was diagnosed with keratoconus nearly 5 years ago and have seen 5 eye doctors since, 2 of whom were ophthalmologists and all of whom said my eye sight MAY be able to be fixed with hard contacts but vision insurance rarely cover them because they’re so expensive to size. Dr. Freeman is the ONLY doctor to ever even try to make a request with my insurance and they went ahead and approved it! I’ve seen dozens of eye doctors in my life and he’s definitely the best.

I do my best to support black owned business, but this place is horrible. The dr. is not the issue here. it’s definitely whom ever he has working there. The man at the front will be the cause of this practice losing clients. He is ignorant and unprofessional which is sad because the doctor made me feel very comfortable and is very efficient at what he does. I WISH I could give 0 stars trust it would happen

This optometrist office is absolutely HORRIBLE!!! I recommend you visit«Shades of Vision» a block away on the same side of the street to actually get professional optical attention. I called to see if I could make a same day appt and was greeted by a young receptionist. She made the appt and I arrived early. She stated that I could receive a eye exam, trial pair of lenses and a follow up consult for $ 80 on the phone. That’s it! I arrived EARLY and was greeted nicely… She then asked if I had my contacts in. I said, «Of course! I’m blind as a bat and just walked through the door.» She says: «Unfortunately we can’t see you if you have worn your contacts in the last 12 hrs… We can’t perform the exam. And we don’t provide trial pairs on the same day of the exam. You have to come back the next day for your trial pair» Now– I’m looking at her like… «WHATTTTTT kind of shady, janky establishment is this!?» No mention of this bogus policy on the phone(hello! Protocols need to be shared w/new customers), traveled here for absolutely nothing and I have never heard of an optometrist not wanting to provide a client with a fresh trial pair of lenses after an examination to ensure they leave SAFELY&SIGHTED. I’ve had contacts for 15+ years and lived all over the U.S. I have NEVER heard of such a policy in my life. Disgruntled and pressed for time(I’m traveling tomorrow and was on my last pair), I tell her she should provide customers with their policies prior to scheduling appts so people don’t make a trip in vain… But thank you anyway.“ This monstrosity of a young woman(again, people need to stop hiring uneducated teenagers to service their patrons without apropos training) said: «You are not welcome» and muttered«bitch» under her breath. As I am a supporter of non violence, a grown women with a travel itinerary and a job… I left shaking my head and holding back my anger. Here’s to taking the high road. And then I walked to «Shades of Vision» at 505 Nostrand and was serviced immediately by the kindest physician(Dr Mikhail), provided with two trial pairs for my trip and ordered a large box of Acuvue Oasis lenses for the same price advertised on . Total under $ 200 w/lenses. The receptionist was lovely, knowledgable and a joy to work with. People need to understand– no one has time or money to deal with terrible customer service. If it’s a true necessity, like one’s vision, the money will be spent elsewhere! Peace!
