I had such a great experience with From The Source! I ordered 22 stools from them for my restaurant in Manhattan. They had everything in stock and it was ready for me the next day! They let me come into the back and hand select the wood tops for each and every stool. The staff was so helpful and accommodating. The stools are not only beautiful but incredibly well made. They are very study and we have not had any issues at all — and we do a pretty heavy volume each day. Can’t recommend them enough!

Awesome spot in Greenpoint to buy wooden furniture and if you go towards the back, they have a ton more wood to choose from. The designs are nice and sophisticated, you could tell the quality is good. I give this spot a $$$ because it is kind of pricey when the items are full price. But, definitely check out the back section because that’s where they have discounts, especially during the holidays. There are several floors you could check out (might not be part of From The Source) that have antique shops and sometimes people throw weddings on the top floor if you want to crash it.

Worked with Jackie in their Greenpoint warehouse so was really helpful. Overall, the staff did a lot of manual labor to show us a variety of woods in a variety of settings. They even took apart a show-​room piece to re-​mount it for our specs. The overall staff was fantastic and never pressured us. We ultimately bought a piece and then cancelled it the next day, and there was NO funny business. I would gladly go back.

We bought a beautiful round dining table with mango top at from the source. We just picked it up yesterday and are already in love with it! Al at the greenpoint store has been extremely kind, patient, and helpful. If anyone is looking for a one-​of-​a-​kind piece of a timeless design that lasts for a lifetime, this store is IT!

Just looking through their 4 warehouses is like going into a free museum. It’s amazing, and the stuff changes all the time. I just bought a bookshelf from here that is now the finest piece of furniture that I own. So many beautiful woods to choose from.
The staff are all so friendly and helpful. You can tell that they all really like working there.

Beautiful stuff in here. Great things for sets and your house or business. Words really can’t describe what you can find here. It’s like a treasure chest. Make sure you really like whatever you purchase as they say. Get your measurements right before you make a choice.
It’s a little off the beaten path but worth it.

The variety/​quality of merchandise and in-​store customer service in the Greenpoint store gets 5 stars from us. We’ve bought many items here over the last couple of years.
However, I took 2 stars away for the dreadful customer service (or lack of it) on the phone and a website that has a «shop online category» that only shows a very narrow selection of what they actually offer. There are more photos on their Facebook page, but you don’t know what’s current and what isn’t. Plus, they don’t sell from Facebook.
Phone customer service: terrible
If you don’t pick a category fairly quickly, the message says, «thank you, goodbye!» instead of repeating the options. I called back, pressed #2 for customer service, got a male on the line. I asked if they still had large mirrors (we’d previously bought one on sale and it looks fantastic!) The reply was, «yes.» I asked if they had any large mirrors on sale. The response, «we have a section where we put items on sale, but you really should come in and look for yourself because we put them there for various reasons — slight damage, shrinkage, etc» While I totally understand why items would be put in the sale area… THAT is NOT proper customer SERVICE response! Because I still don’t know if there are any mirrors on sale. So now I have to drive in to look for myself when he could… SHOULD have said, «hold on, let me check for you.» THEN say either yes or no. If yes, then follow up with, «but you really need to see them/​it for yourself» That is better phone customer service.
In all fairness, though. This warehouse and what they offer is truly remarkable and inspirational.
A suggestion for a storefront photo should be a well laid out montage cross-​section of what they actually sell. The items are so incredible, its a dis-​service to the business to not show what they truly represent.

I love this store! The selection of organic and wood products is INSANE! I spent along time back there in the warehouse. You can spend a lot of money in this place.

One bit of a problem we’ve ran into: management clearly doesn’t like your returning things, even if it’s within the stingy 7-​day return window. First, if you paid by credit card, don’t expect a refund: they promise to issue you a check. Well, it can take 2 – 4 weeks for that check to reach your mailbox. Now, if you don’t feel like waiting, you can insist on a credit card refund — but the luxury will cost you a 3% service fee. Who does that? Since you can’t really spend any less than $ 2K in that store, that’s a hefty penalty to pay. Bottom line: customer service is great at the point of sale. After that — good luck!
But yes, the furniture is indeed beautiful, unique, and well-​built.

Even if you buy nothing you should at least take a Sunday afternoon walk through the place. One of the owners, Bob, found me gawking and proceeded to lead me on a tour. You can tell he loves his store and the staff that work there. The prices were a little high for me, but you can also find some great deals if you take the time to look, especially in the clearance section. 50% chance you’ll get a splinter.

FTS has tons of beautiful wood furniture, sculptures, accessories, etc. My buddy has a studio in the building and I happened to stuble upon this place one Sunday afternoon.
I absolutely love everything about it. I love how different the style is, and the uniqueness of each piece, as well.
Prices are a bit absurd, but there is also a clearance section which you can get some really good deals at. If you are obsessed with wood furniture, as I am beginning to realize that I am, come take a look at this place.
–1 for somewhat ridiculous prices at times.

Beautiful slabs of Ingas, Teak, Rosewood… Excellent selection of reclaimed wood, antique furniture, and one-​of-​a-​kind finds.
The starfish tables are so iconic. And they’re a sustainable wood suppilier. I’m a fan.

Having heard about From The Source from friends, my girlfriend and I visited the Brooklyn store and had the pleasure of having one of the owners help us. Bob was helpful, funny, easy to negotiate with, and an overall joy to work with. The selection was immense, the quality of workmanship is excellent, and the wood (s) used are beautiful. So happy with the experience that I wound up buying four pieces for the bedroom, living room, and dining room.

Great source for rustic furniture made from sustainable woods. Bought a coffee table base there, and Bob (the owner) was super helpful and very willing to work with us.
Good for bars, dinner tables, coffee tables, chairs, etc.

One of most UNIQUE furniture stores i ever seen. Please visit this place before you buy anything else at any other store

I stumbled on this place while biking the back streets of Greenpoint and what a find! Amid a derelict stretch of industrial decay you’ll find a very out of place finely tooled wood bench and we’re open sign out front of an otherwise imposing warehouse. The bench and sign are like a glimpse through the looking glass for you cant but help be lured through the doors and oh the wonders you’ll find on the other side.
The place has several huge warehouse rooms filled with all sorts of wood furniture and enormous slabs of gnarled wood awaiting your imagination. The staff are friendly and more than happy to just let you explore. The prices are reasonable for the quality and definitely for custom work. The styles are SE Asian, reclaimed shabby sheik, and pacific NW outdoors indoors organic forms. I agree w/​Holladay that some are a bit Pier 1ish but only in form as the quality is in another league altogether.
Definitely worth the trip to this desolate corner of Brooklyn.
