Funtasia Party Place

It might be a fun place for kids to have birthday parties, etc., but it is a seedy eyesore on the corner of Bath Avenue and Bay 16^th Street. As a resident, I find it appalling to walk past mini garbage dumps along Bay 16^th Street on the broken raised sidewalk. This area needs to be cleaned and fixed up. Put in some greenery, but I wonder. Why promote a business when you have dead plants hanging from your tiny window boxes on Bath Avenue. Disgusting!

Tl;dr this place was very sketchy and owner wasn’t accommodating towards special needs kids.
For context, we were camp counselors holding a small party for 9 special needs kids.
First, we were not welcomed or told to take our shoes off until the owner complained to the hostess.
Secondly, the party was from 11 to 1 and we were pressured out the backdoor at exactly one despite our camp being full of special needs kids who needed to use the bathroom. Additionally, when we asked to use the second bathroom to speed up the process, the owner complained we would mess up the bathroom despite the fact it would speed up the process.
Third, the party room itself was very small and could not accommodate more than fifteen people comfortably.
Overall would not recommend.

Funtasia in Brooklyn is a kids birthday party place. I thought it was an excellent place for adults. Normally kids in Brooklyn ask to go to Bounce U, Kids N Action, Adventures Amusement park and the Brooklyn Zoo. The website
listed all of the packages and the prices seemed very reasonable.
Most kids can have a good time at a kids birthday party place. I am a little harder to impress so I was delighted to find out they had Air hockey, xbox, PlayStation, adult banquet rooms, etc. The staff is super friendly and they really over delivery.

My daughter turned two and boy was I glad that Funtasia came to the rescue! Let me start from the moment I called to book the venue. I was treated like royalty! This place is a true gem! The children loved it! The owner made sure that everything was to my wife’s liking, and that is not an easy task ;)

I was supposed to have face painting, tattoo, and a super hero for my son’s birthday party. They forgot to do the face painting and as I complained to the teenage girl that I was livid, she told the boss I cursed at her. The girl doesn’t know what livid means. Superman needed to be dry cleaned.
The last straw was when I found brown spots all over utensils that my guest would use. Yuck. They blamed it on coffee stains from the previous party. So, you meaning to tell me my guests used utensils that were touched around by a bunch of other people? Double Yuck!

We just had party there and to be honest I didn’t read any review before choosing a place. Thanks God. As I’m surprised that some people didn’t like the place. — I had to organize a birthday of my nephew. All ages were around 4 – 6 y.o. About 11 kids and parents. — the management was really helpful to meet all our requirements — in food, decoration and kids entertainment. Lovely place, not too big– but it was enough space for everybody. The owner was very friendly, didn’t try to SELL me more than we needed, just helped to create good scenario for the budget I told her. prices were more than affordable, great menu with all the kids staff like food decoration, colorful drinks, cakes, balloons and etc. It wasn’t difficult to create a program as well– as they had big choice of all animation and toys and dressed people with many funny competition and prizes. Definitely recommend the place, even if it’s in Brooklyn — we loved how it’s clean, cozy, pretty and nicely organized in everything. For sure will come back. Best, Hanna.

I am just signing up for Unilocal and while my daughter’s party was last year, I just had to write a review about this place. When I initially went to look at the place and meet the owner, I was impressed with how it looked and I was comfortable with what the owner discussed with me about the party pkg. Even though the place is small, I felt it would be perfect b/​c we weren’t having a large party, it was clean and very colorful (which I knew my daughter would love).
The day of the party, there was a terrible storm which needless to say caused commuting problems for all. With Funtasia having parties back to back (which I wasn’t aware of); it leaves absolutely no room for occurrences like this. There are 2 party rooms and while my party moved to the 2^nd room; a new party was starting in the first and while our party started late, they basically put us out through the back door. I also had a guest who left extra early since she was taking public transportation and not driving. She arrived at Funtasia early and while there was not a party going on at that time, they did not allow her and her child in and they had to stay out in the storm until the actual party time. That was beyond terrible.
The price we were told for the party somehow was not explained properly and by using a credit card, we were going to pay so much extra that my husband left to find a bank/​atm machine to withdraw the balance. The owner knew he was leaving to do so and when he returned she then mentioned that gratuties were not incl. in the balance which was unbelievable to us! I felt like she wanted all of her money and then some, when we didn’t even get what we paid for. The girl playing Cinderella appeared scared during the party; the bubble machine did not work at all and we were not informed of this prior which for me was a huge seller in booking the party b/​c my daughter loves bubbles. I felt like the staff could have obviously been nicer incl. the owner and just didn’t have a nice experience. I would never recommend this place to anyone and would never book a party here again.
