So GNC is GNC but this location is really small and the staff isnt very knowledgeable about the product. Everytime I come here for coconut aminos and not only did they not have it, they didn’t know what it was. But I’ve learned that when coming into a store like GNC or Vitamin Shoppe — know what products you want. Most of the staff have limited knowledge on the products and by the looks don’t uses them.

The dudes here are really eager to help, which is great because I really don’t know anything about this stuff. I don’t expect good service at chain stores usually so I was really pleasantly surprised. My mom and I had gone to a bunch of different pharmacies for what we needed and when we would give up and ask we’d get, well, typical you’re not a regular here side eye and a bad attitude. These guys were really nice. I will go back now that I’m not bursting at the seams pregnant and see if they’re still super nice, but I bet they will be.

Really awful customer service because of one rude staff member! Every time I go into this store I feel super uncomfortable like I’m being forced to buy something immediately or get out. Given the amount of money I spend at GNC on a regular basis, this should not be the kind of customer service i’m receiving. All GNC stores seem to have a pretty aggressive staff in terms of trying to sell you their products(I guess this must be some sort of company wide policy), but i’ve definitely encountered GNCs that can effectively do this without seeming unfriendly, invading your personal space, or making you feel bombarded. I’d avoid this store whenever possible, and go to the GNC on Court street if you don’t mind walking a few blocks.

Whenever I go to a GNC there is ALWAYS someone(who clearly doesn’t lift) telling me which protein power I NEED to take. Like are you really gonna tell me take whey protein without asking me if I can tolerate milk? This time was different. There was a Trinidadian woman on staff(yes I’m sure she is Trini… trust me) and she was a very helpful woman. She listened to me needs, provided support when necessary, and offered helpful suggestions. She even had a sense of humor… I can relate to someone selling me something when they don’t try to shove a product down my throat. I got it, got my product, paid for it with a smile, and left with an even greater smile. As a result of her superb customer service, this place deserves 5 starts… but thanks to past experiences with her colleagues I decided to deduct a star.

Serious ’bout my fitness. I recently decided to get in to gear and start working out again after a 6 months hiatus. Working out surprisingly has been enjoyable for me, however, my trouble is curbing my appetite and eating clean foods that are going to support my fitness goals. So yesterday after banging it out at Planet Fitness around the corner, I decided to walk in to GNC and see what they had for the ladies. I decided to get two 4-packs of the GNC Total Lean™ Lean Shake™ — Swiss Chocolate. There was a deal, buy 1 get 1 half off. So I got two for $ 14.99– Not bad! I drank a shake this morning around 8AM and it was delicious. I felt full within 20 minutes. Its 12:49PM and I am still satisfied and alert. No cravings, no staring at the clock to tell me it is okay to eat again. This thing may actually work for me! The woman who was working there that day seemed very knowledgeable about the products. However, her thick Spanish accent was a little difficult to understand at times but she got the most important tips and advice across. This particular GNC is packed with goodies and the staff is very helpful. The layout, although tight, is easy to navigate and most of the things I will need are near the exit. I will be a frequent customer. Next purchase, multivitamins!
