We visit Good Cents at least once a week. The prices are great and you can get a whole cart for about $ 50. They have a lunch meat and cheese counter and they always have a great selection of ice cream priced just right.

Update: 7.30.2014 Ever since this became Good Cents instead of Valu King, it’s kind of disappointing. No more cheese counter, so you have to take a number and wait in line at the deli. Yes I know I’m particular but I just prefer to avoid meat cubes around the food I eat. They also greatly pared down the cheese options and have increased prices in more than one department. Still generally good deals but not as impressive or convenient, and they migrated toward more processed selections. This store is what it is– an inexpensive general grocery store. In fact, I would say it exceeded by expectations because the produce is pretty solid, they have a fresh cheese counter and deli(with an olive bar, nice surprise!). The displays and merchandising aren’t the focus– the affordable prices are. Come for the house-cubed cheddar and stay for the box wine! I even once shopped on a day when they had jumbo crates of $ 1.00 makeup! i bought like 43 mascaras and lippy things. So what. I need options, man. I like the Orlando«oops» bread– it’s $ 1.59 for a big bag of slightly weird bread. You know what it tastes like? BREAD. Other taste explosions include honeycrisp apples for half the price of Giant Eagle… who actually owns this company, plus cheap bottled water, and even Morningstar veggie burgers. Bring your own bags, or buy them for a few pennies if you forget. They accept food stamps, have name brand pet food, and those disposable foil pans for dirt cheap.

I ran in here because it is the closest grocery store to my house and I just needed olive oil. The olive oil was cheap, but so is the store. Layout sucks, things thrown everywhere, looks like no one ever goes through to straighten anything up. They obviously did not put any money into renovating this space from whatever it used to be. You have to bag your own groceries and each bag is a nickel. I actually support charging people for bags, but I would not want to bag all my own things. The register I went to was having issues and wasn’t weighing produce properly. So even though I was only behind one person, it took forever. Would rather pay more somewhere else and not deal with the inconveniences.
