!!!PUBLICHEALTHWARNING!!! I was in here two days ago to get a sandwich. I placed my order to the guy behind the counter who after taking my order, turned around and continued to handle and slice raw chicken that was on the counter. He then tossed the chicken aside and began to gather the components of my sandwich, WITHOUTWASHINGHISHANDSORCHANGINGGLOVES. He opened the glass case with all of the salad ingredients and took out the breaded cutlets and lettuce I had ordered. Touching everything with his gross chicken gut covered hands. He opened the bread case and handled the rolls with raw chicken guts on his hands. This is when I stopped him and left after explaining why I no longer could eat there. I never thought That I would see this happening, I am utterly shocked to think that anyone in the food industry would be so dangerously careless and embarrassingly unprofessional. Please for your health do not eat prepared foods from this deli, stick to the lotto tickets and cigarettes, anything else may get you sick due to blatant unsafe food handling practices.

my favorite deli has re-opened after being closed for 9 months due to a fire! the guys in here are number one. real integrity. i think of this deli as sort of the glue that holds my tri-block area together. and since they’ve re-opened they now have kombucha and fage yogurt some other interesting new things in addition to the standard deli stuff. i also see they now deliver and that they have a menu you can take home with you in case you want to call in your egg and cheese to pick up on your way to work(the deli is right outside my closest g train entrance). i miss the intellectual deaf guy that used to work there– haven’t seen him in a while. i love you guys, greenpoint deli!

this deli is pretty cheap. even though they charged me 50 cents more for the beef salami, it was pretty good and it filled me up for a little bit. it is very clean inside and different from the other delis i am use to. it’s right across from starbucks and mcdonalds.
