H&R Block

UNPROFESSIONAL. I called yesterday to schedule an appointment for my wife and myself to do our taxes. The store’s website and the phone greeting both say the store opens at 9am. When I called I asked for a 9am appointment for the next day (today). The woman at the store made my appointment for 9, and I verbally confirmed with her again the date and time. I show up this morning with my wife, and the metal shutters are still pulled down and the lights are off, yet the green neon «OPEN» sign is glowing in the window. We wait several minutes, no change. I call the store number and am re-​routed to an H&R Block call center. The woman at the call center takes my information to check the store’s appointment records, and she claims that I was scheduled for a 10am appointment YESTERDAY. This is impossible, as I called at 2pm yesterday. If the workers at this location don’t want to work in the morning, they shouldn’t advertise their hours as «open at 9am,» nor should they make and confirm appointments for this time! Regardless of the dishonesty and/​or screw-​up regarding my appointment, it’s now 9:45 and the store is still dark and shuttered. My wife and I work 7 days per week and we had to move mountains to make time when we both could do our taxes, and now we are hosed. AVOID THIS BRANCH AT ALL COSTS.
