I purchased a vintage cruiser with the help of the [blonde] Kevin at Harvest several months ago. Everyone was super nice, beyond knowledgeable and I feel good about my purchase and supporting this friendly, honest enterprise in the neighborhood. I came in for a blown out tire after a few months and got service immediately by the owner on a weekday. Love Harvest!

I got a flat tire and looked up the closest repair shop. I walked my bike there and they gave me a good price and quick turn around.
But there were kittens!!! The owners could have spit in my face and I still would have tipped them! One of the kittens watched my bike get fixed for quality control, and the other sat on my lap and purred purred purred! I love kittens! I called one of them Smokey and she licked my fingers and nudged me.

After 3 unsuccessful stops at other shops looking for a new helmet, I stumbled upon this gem of an LBS. The guy that helped me out couldn’t have been friendlier. I mentioned I was also overhauling a bike and needed a few tools to remove the cassette. He said to just bring in the back wheel and they’d take care of it so I wouldn’t have to buy tools that I wouldn’t use very often, free of charge!
I took him up on that offer and when I brought it in, they took it immediately and had it removed in just a few minutes. I decided right there and then any parts or accessories I would need for my other bike would be purchased from them.
Great service, knowledgeable staff, and more importantly to me, extremely friendly and approachable.
I live a few miles away and pass two other shops to get to Harvest Cyclery. I will gladly make that trip every time now.

Easily the best bike shop in the area, if not in all of Brooklyn. These guys are incredibly knowledgeable and fair. I’ve had them do work on a few different bikes and each job has been done quickly, thoroughly and for a very reasonable price. Whether you’re buying a bike or having one fixed up this is the place to go. I won’t be going to any other bike shops for the foreseeable future.

Love these guys and their passion for what they do. I brought in a prize find of mine — vintage 10 speed, and the overhaul AJ and company did was amazing at a very fair price. Definitely worth the trip to Bushwick; none of my local bike shops quoted me anything close to the amount of work Harvest put into the bike. Thanks guys, see you when I’m due for a tune-​up!

This place is P Chill. Cheap prices and quality work. You can tell the mechanics are into what they do. True masters of their craft. Two dudes have the same name as me. Punk ones chiller then blanco one. There’s a little blond man and and a hella chiller with a rad ass pony tail. Owners kinda cool with a rad collection of antique and rare parts. Kinda scary looking but chill. Went in for a tune up and now my 1974 Raleigh continental with barend shifters is Dah bomb. Better then when I bought it new in 74. 10 out of 10 Will throw all my money at them any time.

Just bought a vintage Peugot frame built up to my specifications for $ 400. Handlebars, 10-​speed gear system and brakes all brand new. It’s sexy as hell, rides like a dream, and all my friends are super jealous. The staff is friendly, helpful for all types of buyers (I’m a novice) and super cool. Not snobby at all. SO glad I bought my bike from them. Highly recommended.

I brought my bike in for a tune up and a few other things as it hasn’t been done in the few years I owned the bike. The guys did a fantastic job. The service was quick and efficient and they didn’t even pressure me or try to up sell me a light for my bike. I b definitely recommend place any one with a bike. Best service in town! !!!

Fast, friendly, affordable service from an extremely knowledgable staff.

I purchased a bike from them on ebay that was listed as NOS (new old stock) they did not ship it out until 3 weeks after I paid for it. I had to call several times to find out if they shipped it or not. when I finally got the bike it was well used with well worn tires, a dirty chain and cassette. I checked the chain stretch with a park chainwear indicator and it showed the chain had only 50% of its useful life left. I told him I would forgo any other issues with the bike (nicks and schratches on the frame) if they would replace the tires, chain and cassette but they refused. they only offered to give me a refund because they said they had another customer who was willing to pay more for it than I did their ebay feedback is well below standard

The dudes who work here are simply AWESOME. I had my bike for about 2 years and I never gave my baby any kind of loving; shame on me, I know. Anyway, I came to get a flat fixed and decided it was time for a tune up too, which generally cost $ 40, but I was only charged $ 15 since my bike was in such good shape and they couldn’t justify charging me $ 40.
I also discussed upgrading my bike to make it lighter since I’m tired of watching people cruise by as I huff and puff. Instead of selling me parts that I didn’t need, they told me that my bike is already pretty light and it would cost a few hundred to make it any lighter and it wouldn’t even be that much of a difference, so it’s not even worth the $.
Keep in mind that I don’t know squat about bikes so these guys could have sold me anything, but they didn’t take advantage and it is much appreciated! Only if every business operated this way! Thanks again guys and keep that honesty trucking!

awesome local shop for all your commuter needs and also stocked with a ton of rare bikes and assorted parts that you can’t find anywhere else. laid back environment is also a huge plus. I feel a lot more comfortable talking to these guys than most bike mechanics

They fixed my dry rotted back tire in a really short period of time despite being pretty busy mid-​day on a Monday. They were the only shop open on Memorial Day and kept it moving in terms of fixes and what they could do.
My back tire was replaced for a little under $ 30 which is pretty fair and I was pleased in general with their non-​pushy service. I’ll definitely come here in the future if anything pops up with my bike.

For $ 26 I had my new hand me down bike adjusted and checked. All of this was done in 30 min. They were professional, informative and fast.

Awesome shop, only good one in the area. Honest with fair prices and good service! Can’t go wrong!!!
Come get your existing ride tuned up, or get a great vintage ride that is completely tuned up and works like new!(not to mention free service on bike you buy from the shop!)

After moving to Bushwick a few months ago, and watching the number on my scale slowly creep up from switching my 4 mile per day walking commute to the nasty, sweaty subway, I decided I had to find a way to sneak a little more fitness in my life. I decided I needed to get a bike, and after doing extensive Unilocal research… I decided I had to buy it from AJ. (Look at all those decisions!) Next came a week of trying to make my schedule fit the shop’s schedule/​holiday schedule/​I was too hungover and missed my bus home from Philly on Sunday schedule.
Last night I was DETERMINED to make it happen, and I managed to race my sweaty body over there moments before they were supposed to close. I shouldn’t have been so stressed about the time, since it was an extremely chill (albeit hot as hell) vibe in there, as friendly customers filtered in and out well past closing time. I don’t know if that’s the norm, but it certainly worked to my advantage last night. I took a few bikes out on test runs to the end of the block and back, immediately realizing that my dreams of breezing through city traffic a few moments after leaving the shop were nothing short of INSANITY! I hadn’t really been on a bike since junior high and I was shaky as hell. A little kid flying past me on his bike even gave me the stink eye for looking like such an amateur. Yeah, I’m talking about like a five year old kid… sigh.
I settled on a rad little purple number, which just so happened to be even less than I was expecting to pay! SCORE! You get a lock and a helmet package for an extra $ 100 and AJ told me to come back this weekend to pick up my helmet and get the seat height adjusted after I get a little more used to riding it. After a crash course in all things NYC biking… I was out the door… by myself… on a BIKE. I’ll be honest, I almost had 1 543 815 148 heart attacks riding the few blocks home, BUT I DID IT!!! I’ll be biking across the Williamsburg Bridge in no time!
All in all, this is a great shop and I’m extremely grateful that it’s close to my house. I never felt stupid or un-​cool, even though I had pretty much ZERO bike knowledge whatsoever.

Owner AJ is down-​to-​earth, unpretentious and super reasonable when it comes to prices and repair time. His new shop on Bushwick at Jefferson street is conveniently located by the JMZ, which helps us commuters get our bikes in order without having to hike.
AJ was kind enough to build me a Franken-​bike in exchange for parts, at no cost to me! While he was repairing/​building my bike, he lent me an even nicer one because he knew I used it for work. I would be totally SOL without his generosity. GO HERE!

Just got a spoke fixed and rear wheel trued at Harvest’s new location. Friendly, not expensive and quick. With a bike shop you normally have to pick two out of the three. Sometimes just one. This is not the case w/​A.J. and Harvest.
This is where I recommend people to go now for their cyclery needs.

This place is a joke. Bought a $ 350 bike which the guy discounted for $ 300. Found out later that the bike was bought on CL for $ 90. Returned the bike. Later saw a CL post from Harvest cyclery for the exact same bike for $ 279.
I’m happy I got my money back but was very dissatisfied with the overall experience.
