I am Dr. Ira Steinmetz, a board certified Internal Medicine physician in practice for 26 years. Our office located in the Midwood, Flatbush, Sheepshead Bay community blends old fashioned, one on one family care with cutting edge technology to provide our patients with top quality health care. Established in 1985.

I was born in this neighborhood (Flatbush, Midwood, Sheepshead Bay) and established my primary care medical practice here 26 years ago. After attending Columbia University, I studied medicine at Downstate Medical Center, and did my Internal Medicine Internship and Medical Residency at the Maimonides Medical Center, where I continue to maintain admitting privileges. I realize that in order to give excellent medical care a doctor has to be cutting edge and has to utilize all the latest technology. My focus though is on the person. I love to spend time getting to know my patients so that I can treat them in a more complete fashion.

I have a very strong connection to Brooklyn and this wonderful community, and consider it an honor to provide medical care as a family physician to my lifelong neighbors, some of whose families have been patients for multiple generations. a Taking care of the whole person as their general practice doctor gives me great satisfaction.

Business Owner

Dr. Steinmetz was born in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn and went to elementary and High school in Flatbush. He then attended Columbia University and graduated with honors. He attended the Downstate Medical School and did his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at the Maimonides Medical Center where he trained with some of the finest physicians in Brooklyn. Upon completion of his residency he became board certified in Internal Medicine and taught younger physicians at the Maimonides Medical Center.Dr. Steinmetz feels a tremendous connection to Brooklyn and to our local community so he was thrilled to open his primary care practice in the community that he was raised and educated in. He has been in primary care private practice since 1985.
