Items of Interest (IOI) is a retail store and interior design studio with a tightly curated selection of home goods and furniture. We feature unique, design-forward goods sourced from NYC and US based designers.
IOI also houses a full-service interior design studio. We help our clients make their home spaces functional, visually interesting, and fit their lifestyles and budgets.

History
Established in 2013.
The store has only been open since early June 2013. Owner, Susie Zurkowski, was working as an interior designer and realized that there was a niche that needed to be filled for fun, new furniture in the Park Slope area.

Business Owner
Park Slope resident and interior designer Susie Kurkowski is the founder of a budding interior design firm, author of interior design blog Roomology, and owner of Park Slope’s newest retail addition, Items of Interest. A graduate of the New York School of Interior Design and a member of the American Society of Interior Designers, Susie specializes in helping clients develop the ideal layout and design to fit their unique needs, and in bringing that vision to reality. She can also assist with the acquisition of distinctive furniture goods and custom pieces, along with fine art.
Susie actively supports local artists by showcasing various up-and-coming NYC-based artists and designers at Items of Interest. An avid fan of the arts, Susie enjoys painting and hopes to build a community of artists and designers in Park Slope through Items of Interest.
