I come here often but I came out today(Sunday) and they were not open. They said they are open Sundays. Coming from staten island to Brooklyn is a lot especially if you wasted your time.

I was one of their first customers and brought them plenty of business. I can’t stand it when a salon changes their price every week. I started out paying $ 20 for a wash and set. 3 – 4 weeks later it was $ 25 and then it went to $ 30. My hair is average length and very thin so it take 35 minutes to dry, theres no excuse for this. My last encounter which was yesterday they tried to charge me $ 41. I bring my own shampoo, conditioner and pins. What the hell are they charging me $ 41 for? i have to admit, i like the way Marylou does hair. But some of the other workers in the salon are slow because they talk too damn much and smell like cigarettes when they are washing your hair. NASTY!!! They don’t have to worry about me or the 7 customers i brought with me. I’m done with this salon.

Came across a grand opening flyer for a new hair salon in the area. I saw that their flat twists were $ 15 and up and wanted to give it a try. I went there first thing this morning to get a head start. I arrived a little after 9 o’ clock. When I got there, I saw a lady washing what I thought was a customers hair. Come to find out they both worked there. Really guys? During business hours? While waiting for them to finish, I showed them the flyer and told them that I wanted the $ 15 flat twists. They begin talking loudly to each other in spanish and then told me that was only for the grand opening and that the actual price is $ 20. No biggie. I still want it done. So I had a seat as I continued to wait. I patiently sat there for another 10 – 15 mins, until the lady getting her hair washed walked over to me and said, «Excuse me mami, your hair will cost $ 50». WHAT??? You literally JUST told me $ 20. Where is this extra THIRTYBUCKS coming from? She says its because she has to blow dry the back and because my hair is long. ISSHESERIOUS? An extra $ 30 just to blow dry the BACK of my hair? By the way, I don’t consider my hair to be LONG, its shoulder length. I could see if it was down my back, but its not. Also, anyone who knows anything about flat twists knows that they are done in the front and the back is styled. That’s apart of the«flat twist» style. There shouldn’t be two separate prices for the same style. It just doesn’t make sense to me. I came in expecting to spend 15, now they want $ 50??? Angry, but still wanting flat twists, I almost caved in. «Fine» I said, begrudgingly. «Do you take debit cards?» Of course they didn’t. Well, thanks for wasting part of my morning on your false advertisement. I left out and went to Sisters Unisex on Lawrence instead(that’s a whole nother story…) The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is because this place looked very welcoming. It was neat, clean and well decorated. The waiting area was the nicest I’ve seen in any salon in the area. They had a futon with throw pillows and even a cute little wicker chair. I can’t review based on the quality of hair service as I didn’t get my hair done! *rolls eyes*
