Best bbq in Brooklyn! They deliver far and wide too. Only thing is sometimes they’ll send ranch with the wings instead of bleu cheese, but I honestly can’t complain much because the food is so darn good. Best fried pickles I’ve ever had :)

I ordered delivery a little while ago, and was really excited to have found a BBQ place nearby. Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed. The corn bread was good, but that was about it. The mashed potatoes looked good. They even had some of the peel in them, but it was clear that this was a mixture of boxed mashed potatoes and real ones. The macaroni and cheese was basically noodles with cheese melted on them. Finally, the fried chicken was fine. Nothing special, but I was still planning on eating it… about three pieces in I found a hair fried into one of them. After that, I lost my appetite.

The fried chicken was some of the driest I’ve ever had. Almost not edible and pretty much tainted the entire experience. Biscuits and mashed potatoes were good though. Biscuits were warm and soft. Mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful. Overall not worth the price of the entire meal.

We ordered through GrubHub so this is based on the delivery experience and the food. GrubHub told us it would be an hour to get our order, but it took over 90 minutes. After hitting the hour mark I called Jake’s to get a status update. The woman who answered the phone did not identify the restaurant by name when she called. When she told me our food was out for delivery and I responded with«Okay, thanks», she simply hung up. No «you’re welcome» or «goodbye». Very rude. The food was fairly decent. The meet was moist and flavorful. The sweet potato fries were soggy, but that’s probably because they’d been sitting around for so long. Same for the luke-warm sodas. After placing my order I went to their website to check it out. Photos of trashy women for absolutely no reason. I think it’s some kind of Monster Energy drink sponsorship thing, but there’s nothing in the text that relates to the photos. Keep it classy, Jake’s.

Jakes has above average BBQ but has terrible delivery. I have made the mistake twice of ordering on seamless only to wait over an hour and half for my food to arrive. I kid you all not, an Hour and a Half. Both times I have called and gotten the same excuse, «we have a packed house and not enough drivers». Ok I can somewhat sympathize but how is that my problem. I am the customer looking for a hot meal asapOS. I am not looking for a lukewarm meal delivered in the amount of time it takes to do 3 loads of laundry. Very disappointed to say I will never be ordering from Jake’s BBQ. I may dine in but order out is a no go. –Boots.

Not my favorite. A friend and I both ordered the chicken and rib dinner. Although the meat was plentiful and tender the flavor was really lacking. As for the sides, I was less than impressed. The greens where completely flavorless and the Mac & cheese looked delicious but tasted as if it where next too a pan of something very burnt. I am giving this place two stars, one for the tenderness of the meat and for the amazing service we received. I think he name was Shenika. True sweetheart.

This place is terrible. All I know is that I went in yesterday to try one of their $ 5 beers and was really disappointed. I’m totally serious, this all happened: The waitress told me technically the Corona was $ 6 but her manager said we could have them for $ 5 each(being 2 total)… we thought this was nice enough and decided to order a side of potato salad with the brews. Not only did the potato salad suck(was sweet and runny — both cardinal sins of potato salad), but it was like seriously three teaspoons worth of potato salad — I mean I know it’s a SIDE of potato salad but this was straight up laughable. The owner/manager guy was watching some motorcycle race with his face 3″ from the TV, and it wouldn’t have been so bad if we could have seen it as well, but it was just facing him with the volume blaring completely away from the rest of the place. The cook came out(at least I think he was the cook since he was in all white), and he sat down at one of the tables and fell asleep with his gut hanging out of his shirt — something I really didn’t need to see. There were delivery boys(or servers, I really don’t know which) right out side the front of the place smoking cigarettes and grabbing their balls. Oh, did I mention the place was completely empty? Of course it was! I watched a waitress clean tables with rubbing alcohol. And then lo and behold, we go to pay our bill and we were charged the $ 6 for the beers! Nearly $ 20 for a dollop of cruddy potato salad and two mediocre beers. Screw that — this place will be out of business very very soon.

Totally acceptable BBQ delivery. As in: if yer havin’ a hankerin’ for some BBQ but you also have a toddler and yer wife is at a Sarah Bareilles concert and there’s no prayer of gettin’ out ’cause there ain’t a snowball’s chance in Texas in July of gettin’ a babysitter so you could head to a real BBQ place, well then, yeehaw! I had the chicken ‘n ribs special, which was ok. Ribs are not«fall of the bone» tender and were, frankly, way better cold the next day. Chicken was acceptable with the BBQ sauce… creamed spinach was way more cream than spinach — not great. Best part was super fast delivery on a Friday night and they threw in some candied pecans for free that were the bomb.(I ordered on Seamless… there’s a whole little section of free add-ons if you get more than twenty or thirty bucks worth of mediorcre BBQ).Easily the highlight of the meal for me was the free nuts and, for all the vegans out there reading reviews of meat joints, likely the only item you could eat here.

Found them thru GrubHub and was shocked how far they delivered in Brooklyn. We thought it was expensive but when we saw the quantity and tasted the quality, it was worth every penny. Now we’ll have to visit as well & definitely will order again next time we want BBQ delivered.

I stopped by here on an early Sunday afternoon for lunch. The place was empty. I figured that would mean I would get my food fairly quickly. Boy, was I wrong. It took 25 minutes to get my brisket sandwich. And when it finally came it was not worth the wait. It was dried out and flavorless. The cheese fries were good but I wouldn’t come back here to spend $ 11 and change on cheese fries. Don’t waste your time here.

Took forever to deliver some of the most disgusting food I’ve ever tried in life. I tried to give the meat to my cat and even he took a little taste of it and walked away. Not sure how these people even have a business. Please don’t waste your money.

If I could give this place a negative –100 I would. I wish I looked at these reviews prior to ordering. I ordered on grub hub at 7:30 and its 10 minutes to 10 pm and no food! This is the worse service in my life and Jake’s should not state to delivery if they can not accommodate any place outside of their front door. I will never even go to this place in person due to the bad taste in my mouth with their service. So much time passed that I could have ordered locally but now it’s to late, for that type of service I don’t want to ever experience, bad Jake!!! Only gave a star cause I couldn’t post without a star rating but Jake’s get no stars in my book!

I wanted so badly to like this place. I’ve been on a BBQ kick lately and there isn’t really any in my neighborhood, so when I realized Jake’s delivers to Sunset Park, I was over the moon! Trouble is, that with a commute like that, it’s takes just enough time for anything fried or breaded to get soggy. The first time, I ordered the pulled pork platter with a side of fried pickles, mac and cheese, baked beans, biscuits, and sweet tea. The pork was FAN-tastic, the macaroni pretty good, the sweet tea delicious, but the biscuits are weird, the beans were bland, and the fried pickles were soggy. I decided to give it another chance because 50⁄50 isn’t terrible for a first try. The next time was for me and my boyfriend, and we ordered pulled pork, pulled chicken, a cheeseburger, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, sweet tea, cornbread, apple pie, and pecan pie. Again, the pulled meat was great — their BBQ sauce is really tangy and unique. BF says the burger was good, but nothing special(although I did actually really like the fries, which is rare). The mashed potatoes are where it started going downhill. They were just not good. That’s when I thought okay, it’s not just the long distance, I’m just not crazy about their food. The creamed corn was also kind of disappointing(tasted like it was canned instead of homemade). By the time we got to dessert, we were a little nervous because we figured there was only about a 50⁄50 chance it would be good. Turns out the apple pie was awful — still frozen, with weird non-apple pie crust. The pecan pie was surprisingly good, but not good enough to win be back over. I probably will not order from here again, which is a bummer. Given our experience with the food, I was going to give 2 stars. But the service was very good, and super quick, considering how far away Jake’s is from my place. Could be their chef’s creative tastes just aren’t my speed, but I’m gonna say skip this one.

Got the Kansas City Fried Chicken deal with mashed taters and Mac n cheese. Was weary on ordering but took the chance. It was pretty much exactly what I imagined it would be for a hole in the wall BBQ joint in Brooklyn. The food was still hot when we got it(delivery). There was about 8 – 10 pieces of chicken. No breasts. Chicken was good. Not amazing but good. Sides were also good. I think people are being harsh giving them 2 or less stars. The food is decent. No mom and pops fried chicken place, which I have yet to find in NYC, though.

Just ordered lunch for the first time from Jakes and contrary to some of the bad reviews both my boss and I couldnt have enjoyed it more. The order taker on the phone was very friendly and the food arrived promptly and the delivery guy was also nice, so much for the bad comments on the service. As for the food I got the Brisket of Beef Sandwich with fries, the brisket was perfect, a little fatty and charred on the ends just as its supposed to be. The sauce had a nice little kick and wasnt too sweet. The fries were ok, nothing special and a little limp. My boss got the pulled pork sliders and was also very pleased with them, the size was a tad larger than the average slider. The piece of corn on the cob he got looked like a giant mutant specimen and the cornbread was moist and tasty with little kernels of corn throughout. Overall a very nice lunch and they are now on our list of places to order from.

Stay away. This might be the ONLY restaurant in the area that I have visited and would not frequent again. While hungry and walking along the waterfront district I came across Jake’s. Wait?! What is this?! Much to my delight Jake’s is a barbeque joint!!!(Only one of my favorite food groups). The wife and I rushed inside. We were the only customers there, but could see the staff preparing deliveries. First of all, I am pretty sure the pork for my sandwich was microwaved. I’ve had better out of one of those awful tubs you can find at your local grocer. Second, the corn bread was stale. Third strike: You want to charge me for a refill of Coke?! I could go on in this vein, but the memory is just to painful. Fortunately, we have since found Brooklyn Southern up the street. Go there.

Jake’s Bar-B-Q Masterpiece: For $ 65, you get BBQ chicken, fried chicken, wings, pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, ribs, sausages, shortribs, six sides of your choice and some bread. And a pint of their(very solid) BBQ sauce. I couldn’t even finish it in one sitting; I had to reluctantly let my eight friends have some. And I’ve concluded that there isn’t a better way to feed a bunch of hungry drunks. On the real, Jake’s isn’t going to blow your mind with any one item(and consistency is not their strongest suit), but they’ve won me over with with this«sensational» combo. They claim it’ll feed 4 – 6 people, but seriously, at least 8 people can happily get down with it. The pulled pork, ribs, brisket, fried chicken… all solid enough, and every once in a while one will be amazing. The sides are fair. I do feel as though it’s my duty to inform you that I don’t think I’ve ever had a worse biscuit than the one they brought me last time, so I’d go for a different choice of bread if I were you. However, the Masterpiece puts Jake’s on my shortlist of go-to deliveries when I have a bunch of people coming over and I don’t feel like cooking. Especially since the only other BBQ joint that will deliver to me is Dallas, and Jake’s poops all over that place.
