Keri Setaro Yoga Instructor

Keri Setaro changed my life. As passive yoga student for years, I wandered in and out of studios throughout downtown Manhattan and Brooklyn looking for a particular guidance and inspiration that I found completely lacking in the oversaturated NYC yoga world. I met Keri last spring during a time where I was in rut in both life and fitness. Her inspiring dharma talks and complete accessibility struck a chord with me — I’ve been a devotee ever since. Keri is a very hands on teacher — She’s gifted in her ability to verbally and physically explain poses in practical ways that are helpful in understanding the physiology of the practice and how each pose relates to the next, but also how it all relates to the subtle body as well. Her classes are playful, challenging and always inspirational (her playlists are also killer). I feel like I get a very well rounded experience in Keri’s classes. She talks the talk, but also walks the walk. She is knowledgable, thoughtful, intelligent and devoted not only to the physical practice, but also the spiritual self-​discovery of the practice. All without an ounce of pretense. She is a yogi rockstar.

Keri’s yoga classes have been helping me for over 3 years now, and they keep on getting better and better, building on what she does so well. The instruction is easygoing, informative, and very accessible to all levels… the playlists that accompany class are (like her) amusing, surprising, and often deeply inspiring. Full of wisdom, sometimes subtle, sometimes not.
I’ve also been taking private sessions with Keri for a while, and all of the above applies. It’s a small part of the week that I always looks forward to– I used to think I’d stopped growing and changing a long time ago, and Keri makes it easy to see (and feel) that this isn’t so

Keri is an absolute godess. She starts off each class with a beautiful motivational talk which is usually followed by a wide range of kick-​ass playlists. She is extremely helpful, patient and attentive. Classes are fun, challenging and inspiring. She is by far one of the best teachers this city has to offer.

Keri has been leading a weekly 9am Monday yoga practice at my office for over a year now. Now if someone can get me to look forward to waking up at dawn every Monday, then you know she’s good. Her classes are fun, not too serious, but still leaves me feeling refreshed and stronger. She really takes the time to give each of us personal attention and adjustments for proper technique.
I also attended her yoga retreat in Costa Rica and cannot speak highly enough of the trip! Even in a larger group setting, Keri makes you feel powerful mentally and physically.
I don’t think I can practice with anyone else now!

I spent the weekend with Keri as a cook for her recent yoga retreat. The thing I noticed most was the atmosphere she created. All the participants felt at home, and were totally accepted as they were. During class there were always smiles and laughter, and I could tell how comfortable the students were asking her questions. I also had the pleasure to participate in a couple of her classes and I have to say that her hands on adjustments were so welcome! (especially after being on my feet all day). She was gentle, sensitive and reassuring. I knew I could let go into the poses when she told me to. I highly recommend taking a class with her!
