They’re great. I went in with serious pain and«WALKED» out feeling so much better. It only took approx. an 1hr & ½ on a SATURDAYNIGHT which is great and my situation was very serious. The nurses, Drs, securities, etc are all patient. Prior to that, I went with my boyfriend before and his situation was worst than mine but their services towards him was great work also. I don’t think this is the worst hospital but you might be better off at St. Luke’s Roosevelt on 59th st/10th Ave, that’s where I should have gone. But the nurses here are pretty nice and attentive and that means a lot when you’re not feeling your best. It’s still pretty gross in here though, and I just think that’s because the US healthcare system is as bad as any developing nation, maybe worse. The real downside though was that the doctor was kinda of a jerk. Really condescending and dismissive. The nice nurses really tried to make up for it though.

my mother-in-law was brought by ambulance this morning. They took had her count her money and they wrote the amount on a piece of paper…$ 107. She ended up needing emergency surgery and, when she came out, she only had $ 2 left… smh…wtf??? who DOES that? Then they tried to blame her daughter when the hospital actually had possession of her bag before her daughter even got there. A complaint will be filed tomorrow…

I’m visiting from out of state with my 17 year old nephew. We were concerned when his sore throat got increasingly more painful and developed white spots. I was shocked and delighted that we were in an out of Kingsbrook’s ER in a little over an hour. The waiting room was practically empty. We went straight to Triage, then Registration and then waited a bit to be seen. Staff members were really kind and helpful. I’d give 4.5 stars if it were an option with a mere ½ star off because I would have liked the check in process to be more clear with arrows or signs explaining where to go when you walk in and pointing to the form you need to fill out and submit to triage. And the poor woman at the desk behind the glass could hardly hear me, and patients had a hard time hearing her because the glass is so thick and there’s a loud TV and other noises in the waiting room. An intercom would be a welcome addition. Those minor details aside, though, our experience was great. Super efficient and really kind staff. We walked out with a diagnosis of tonsillitis/strep throat and a prescription for antibiotics.

I’m travelling from Australia and I walked in off the street with an infected finger. The ER was empty so I went straight to triage. The entire process is super efficient and everyone was extremely helpful and kind. I haven’t experienced such a great hospital service anywhere else in the world. Thank you.

After requesting an itemized, detailed bill for the $ 18,000 price tag for the surgery I never had, I discovered they had charged me over 25TIMES for a piece of equipment I NEVERUSED. When I called the kind billing man to let him know, he eventually confirmed I had never been given it and removed it from the bill. However, it took him over a week to have this taken care of because the medical department insisted their records were correct. I was there for barely 24 hours, was not admitted for the reason the equipment would’ve necessitated, and no human would’ve needed it over 25 times. The fact they even tried to argue their records were correct is deeply concerning. For anyone who gets a bill from this hospital, be sure to insist on a detailed bill at the same time. Good luck.

If you have an EMERGENCY and would like to be seen ASAP with out a long long long wait — I mean like 3 – 6 hour wait — Kingsbrook is the ER… The ER is clean, organized with a flat screen… Upon entering — you sign a form, the triage nurse sees you, then you register — after registration you go inside right away… upon entering after 5 minutes — you get a bed immediately… after another 10 — 15 minutes the Doctor sees you… It was a breeze… Any Emergencies — Kingsbrook is your place…

The greatest experience I have ever had in a hospital ever. I received care in the emergency room for a minor sprain and was treated with such a high level of respect. From the nurses, clerks, doctors, technicians; everyone was very sweet and accommodating. All of them made small talk with the patients and were full of jokes… and west indian jokes at that so I was doubled over in laughter for the majority of the visit. No, I was not drugged. :-) I observed the behavior among the staff and everyone seemed to get along great and enjoy their jobs. The process was extremely fast and smooth. Even the front desk security insisted to arrange a cab to pick me up. Also, the cherry on the pie: The offer free RAPIDHIVTESTING here from 9am until 12 midnght on Monday thru Friday. There is no excuse not to get tested. I love Kingsbrook!
