Description

Specialties

Kristophe specializes in eastern European inspired comfort food in a warm welcoming setting. We take our wine, beer, and liquor selections very seriously and provide the highest quality beverages for all tastes. We also have a beautiful garden that’s open all year, and we now serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

History

Established in 2012.

Kristophe rose from the ashes of a defunct chicken grill that opened and closed in rapid succession in 2010. It now stands proudly as the flagship restaurant of chef/owner Kris Drzewiecki (Krolewskie Jadlo).

Meet the Business Owner

Kris D.

Business Owner

Kris came to New York in 1998, with a friend, on student visas, speaking little English. After 3 days working construction they soon found themselves in the kitchen of Marc Murphy at Café Milou. 6 months later, the two migrated to Nobu where Kris rotated kitchen stations, honing his skills for over 2 years.

For years Kris had been eyeing a small and slowly failing Polish restaurant near the corner of Manhattan Ave and Norman Ave in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. He eventually bought the restaurant, borrowing money from family and friends, and cooked during the day, while renovating the space at night. His goal was to build a nice place and serve good traditional Polish food, the neighborhood embraced him, and Krolewskie Jadlo was born.

Kristophe is Kris’ latest venture and features some of his best ever dishes, including spiced sweet potato pierogies and roasted duck legs with with cherry sauce. Here he offers a refined but unpretentious dining experience in the heart of Williamsburg.
