I used to really like this dentist then he kept suggesting I get antibiotic injections into my gums at 100 dollars a smack. They did nothing. What I really needed was some periodontal work and seem good cleanings. I believe the hygienist keeps selling these injections as a way to make money. Furthermore, the hygienist was not polite and friendly. Dr Garry kept recommending work I found out later from another dentist and a periodontist I did not need. He is knowledgeable, but I do think he misuses his knowledge to make more and more money. In other words, he exploits. He was also late by an hour and a half once. He said he had some emergencies. I have never known a dentist to put emergencies in when he has appointments, unless of course they are trying to make more money. I do not trust this man or his staff. I used to, but no more.

Fell for the Arestin scam they pull. Plus they tried to sell me on getting un-​needed laser gum scaling. I went back to our old dentist on Atlantic Ave. for a 2^nd opinion (who isn’t covered by my new job’s insurance unfortunately). Dr. Gouz said my gums looked great and I didn’t have any cavities! Same thing happened to wife when she visited her old dentist for a 2^nd opinon.
Levingart’s practice is all about shady upsell.

Not sure about everyone else’s reviews but I have had nothing but great service since I have come here. My bff’s sister came here first then she came and then she referred me I enjoyed it so much I bought my mother right on along with me.
Now I had been going to another dentist where I kept telling them hey think I have a cavity over here I am having too much sensitivity. They told me no there is nothing wrong don’t worry. Errrmmm WRONG came here and they found not 1 not 2 but SIX frigging cavities. Now my first reaction was let me go back to that bogus place I was going to before and dish out plates of «happiness» but what would that solve.
Anyways this dentist contacted my insurance and we got into the motion though with a minor hiccup at first because I did not know I had to pay for the white composite fillings. I never had before but once this was sorted I set up two appointments and got it done. I also ordered a new night guard though my old one was better this one definitely does the job and Dr. Levingart told me to bring it in the next time I come in so that he can take a look at it.
They are suuuppppeerrr accommodating, I have a latex allergy and they went out and bought a box of non latex gloves that they use every time I come in. One «lady» that worked there not sure who she was wanted to know the extent of my allergy and what would happen to me if they used latex. Both me and the hygienist looked at her as if she was a raging lunatic and the hygienist said it does not matter what it is we cannot use latex gloves and went out herself to get them. She was really nice but she no longer works there to best of my knowledge.
Also they have moved to a newer location and it is very swank if I might say myself. Dr. Levingart is always willing to explain things to me and is patient as I ask a million and one questions. I like the place, it is really hard to find a good dentist. Also Cathie the receptionist is the sweetest thing!

As others have mentioned, they do pressure you into receiving the Arestin injections, which is kind of shoddy and definitely a little suspect. Additionally, their offices aren’t the cleanest I’ve ever seen, but I’ve found the staff extremely courteous and friendly (especially when I’ve had to reschedule a few times) and the wait time to be very minimal. Additionally, I’ve heard from others that the actual Levingarts (there are two dentists, a man and woman who share a last name — I’m not completely sure if they’re spouses or siblings) vary in their effectiveness. I’ve always had the guy, Garry, and I’ve found him to be pretty good, to work quickly, and to be thorough in making sure I was comfortable. I’ve heard less than glowing things about the woman, Bela.

Do not visit this doctor. I went in for a procedure and was waiting for thirty minutes past the appointment start time. When I was led into the examination room, I noticed that it had not been cleaned from the previous patient, there were dirty tissues (with blood) as well as blood and saliva in the spit sink. I also noticed that surfaces near where the doctor would have sat and used his implements were dirty with blood.
When I brought this to the attention of the nurse, she claimed that the tissues were simply «wet»

Go here and your smile will turn upside-​down. I went here twice and both times I was given a hard sell on the Arestin injections. My overall experince has left me very uncomfortable about ever returning.

I was pressured by the hygienist to receive 4 injections ($ 400) to ‘prevent surgery’. Now that I’ve done my research I’ve learned that Arestin is only to be used for acute infections or in conjunction with a specific procedure (SPR). I also learned that most hygienists get a commission for Arestin. I swear the receptionist gave me a look like «You fell for it?» when she rang up my bill…
Additionally, hygienists are not licensed to prescribe medications. Arestin was prescribed and administered before I even met the dentist. I could hear the same thing happening to the patients in either room next to me.
