Very decent take out Chinese. Ordered late at night and I could tell they made to order– pre made food wasn’t sitting waiting on a burner or anything. Paid $ 10 even for two large portions of orange and S&S chicken with rice. Very happy with everything.

This place has been around since I was in elementary school and they have the best chinese food in Bushwick hands down.

This take out only hole in the wall has been at this location in a residential area of Bushwick since at least the pre-gentrified mid 1980s. You could easily pass by this unprepossessing place;but you’ld be missing out on quite a treat. The fare is mostly Canton, Sichuan and while the menu is simple there is much to savor. The Wanton Soup dumplings are thick, meaty and succulent. I highly recommend the Mei Fun. The fried rice lacks that burned quality that mars so many chinese establishments. This is, quite simply, one of the best Chinese take outs, I’ve ever had(and I love Chinese). The sad thing is, over half the customers seem to order the fried chicken, french fries or plantains;the ‘American’ food; and miss out on the best this place has to offer. Oh yes: The portions are large and the prices unbelievably low! It is located within a 3 block walk of the Halsey St. stop on the L train. There is no seating and no delivery, though Irving Sq. Park is only a 3minute walk away. Do yourself a favor and stop in when you’re in the area and take some home to your friends. Bet they’ll want to know where you got it! PS: THENAMEOFTHERESTURANTISLUENHOP, NOT Hop Lung !!

Love them! Wish they had delivery but I don’t live far and it’s all worth the walk! :)

I live near this fabulous, down-to-earth takeout joint so all I have to do is place a quick phone order and in about twenty minutes, head out to pick it up. I love the variety in their extended menu. They pack the food to the limit of the boxes and sometimes even give me a complimentary sweet tea. In my experience, they have NEVER skimped on quantity and for the low, low prices? I wonder how they make money at all! Me, I usually order their huge, crispy fried wings and succulent BBQ spareribs(both come in large or small portions) with steamed rice. Their fried rice and House Special lo-mein are pretty good too. What makes their food excellent is the fact that it’s all freshly made when ordered so the wait’s a bit if you’re planning to drop in to order. Totally worth it though. As you can see by the various pictures posted, I’m on a mission to order everything on their menu! I’m nuts about this place… and for good reason. Their foods are top-quality. BTW, I don’t know why the status says ‘closed’. I eat here every other day and I can assure you, they’re very much open… called Luen Hop Kitchen though.
