Good for Quick fast food, it’s like soul food McDonalds. I think it’s alil over priced too. There’s a large selection to choose from, which is a good thing. I have certain things I stick to and for a reason. It’s buffet food, so it’s sitting out for awhile. So I’m very cautious about what I choose, sticking to the chicken, salmon, greens, fried rice, and Mac and cheese. Not a bad place if your hungry and don’t want the normal fast food.

There is not too many buffet places still left, but I’m glad that thus place is still here. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. And I must say, the food here is excellent. All types of meats, poultry, fish and salads and amazing deserts. The sitting area is very big as well. You’ll feel like your sitting on top of one another. Not a date place, but a place you can your mate can sit down, and have good food(for fair prices) in a okay neighborhood.

Two words: Not impressed. I’ve heard numerous people in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn boast about how good this buffet is so I decided to give it a shot. Of course I read my fellow Unilocalers reviews first before heading over to Mannas Restaurant. Everyone had something positive to say so WTH, Mannas was on my agenda for lunch. They have a decent size buffet and the interior and exterior seemed very clean. It wasn’t crowded at all and was very dimly lit(not sure if they just needed to change a light bulb or they wanted it to be romantic. Either way it wasn’t cool, I like to see what I’m about to eat). I went for my usual: mac and cheese, collard greens and whatever meat looked edible. Today I was in the mood for salmon. I grabbed a small take out platter and began to pile on my food. As I approached the salmon there was a sign that said«Please do not cut the fish.» They already had it sectioned off into small pieces. WTF! If I’m paying for a buffet I want the full buffet experience(Pigging out, piling on a crazy amount of food, unbuttoning my pants and then swearing never to eat like this again before falling asleep at the table). Needless to say, I took two AND A HALF pieces of fish. The mac and cheese was OK but a little mushy and milky. The greens were surprisingly very tasty. Now on to the salmon… I think they baked it too long or it sat under that light on the buffet for too long. Either way, it was hard. It wasn’t very flavorful even though they attempted to season it. Whatever juice the fish was sitting in had a funny taste that blended in with the mushiness of the mac and cheese and left a very unpleasant after taste in my mouth(if I had to compare it, it was like drinking milk and old hot dog water together). Not very appetizing! FYI: The price went up from what previous Unilocalers reported. Its now $ 5.49/Lb Overall: I might return just for the collard greens!

You have to pay for your food by the weight and with so much good food to choose from your sure to leave with your wallet feeling much lighter than when you came in. They have an array of fresh fruit, salad and salad fixings, several types of rice dish, vegetables and meats. And how can I forget about the desserts. Omg I didn’t even know where to begin but I will say everything that I sampled was great tasting and fresh. I couldn’t really partake in the desserts because I’m a diabetic but I did sample the sweet potato pie and the red velvet ughhhh I was about to throw caution to the wind pop a pill and have me a slice of both. I will definitely come back here to eat if I’m in the area, I’ll also make sure I come with a set amount to spend so that I don’t go broke.

In an area where your choices are basically McDonalds, KFC or Dunkin Donuts, I find this place to be a welcome change. The dishes are hit or miss, but it being a self-serve buffet, you can take as much or as little as you want. Winners: collards, jerk chicken, fish fillet, rice & peas. Losers: macaroni pie, wilted salad. Pounds add up fast(both at the register and on your waistline), so be careful.

Food is great, $ 4.99 p/lb of food. Their cakes are also great and they have a lot of seating. Its also a buffet style restaurant.

No-nonsense buffet, $ 4.99/lb, but plus tax always gets me. Ginger tea brewing on the coffee machine, never tried their cakes. Great selection of meats(jerk chicken, beef stew, pork, fried fish), tangy okra gumbo, and serviceable collard greens. One of the two places I go for lunch in Brownsville.
