Marina Klotsman

I am a Physician Assistant student in Brooklyn, New York. My pediatric clinical rotation was under the preceptorship of Dr. Mariana Koltsman at her practice. At the beginning of the rotation, she clarified objectives and expectations. This rotation was a great experience for me. I, not only learned many new skills from her medical knowledge, but also from her interaction with patients. Dr. Koltsman was very caring, had great relationship with all patients. She explained and addressed the patients, concerns, answered their questions thoroughly, and made sure parents understand their child’s condition. All the children, her patients, and their parents loved her. Her office was very clean, practical, and inviting. Patients especially loved the parking in front of the building.

Dr. Klotsman is a warm, caring, practical and experienced doctor. She was there the day after I gave birth to my daughter and provided wonderful care for her for her first few months. We recently moved away from Brooklyn and I was sad to leave her as our pediatrician. The staff at her Ocean Parkway office is kind and organized. Highly recommend!

I’m leaving this review because I trusted the other Unilocal reviews of this doctor, and was honestly shocked by my experience based on the positive things I read online. Dr Klotsman herself is a very nice doctor, as far as reviewing her, she gets 4 – 5 stars. She does care about her patients and she is very kind.
My low review is really based on her office and her staff. I think she opened her own practice and the staff surrounding her is not supporting her well. My experience here has been by far the most unprofessional medical experience I have ever encountered.
Their office hours are very haphazard. Some days they are only open 730pm-​9pm, with no hours in the day. Not even the clerical staff. We went to an evening appt and were told several times to be early at a specific time. Well, we were early right on time for when I was told to be there, and the office was closed. We had to wait outside for 25 minutes on the dirty stairs until someone finally showed up with keys. Then several patients who came after us were seen before we were even seen. The nurse assistant could barely speak English, and she could not answer a basic question such as «how tall is he now?»
When my previous doctor needed to fax our records, I learned later from Dr. Klotsman’s front desk that they had them faxed to their neighbors fax machine: a residential neighbor who is a stranger and has no right to have any access to our medical records.
The front desk is extremely disorganized and does not speak very good English. They often cannot understand what I“m saying on the phone, phrases such as «test results.» I was told I’d receive a call from the doctor, and a week went by still no call. I’ve been trying to get my child’s test results, and I’m told by the front desk «I will try to help you but I’m going to the bank, and I don’t have a pen.» And then nothing, no help. It seems the doctor has not been getting any of my messages from the front desk. We will not return there anymore bcs of the administrative issues.
I will repeat again, Dr. Klotsman is a wonderful doctor, however the administrative staff made my experience extremely frustrating.

We brought our son here with the flu, and Dr. Marina Klotsman was amazing. We used to see her at Park Slope Pediatrics, but now she has her own practice here on Ocean Parkway. Much closer for us. And lots of late night hours which is convenient.
