I always drove by this place and never stopped in until one day my son wanted burger king which I didn’t want. So I decided to get a slice. Im old school Italian born in Brooklyn(red hook) had pizza from every where. I have to say I really enjoyed it, I live in Dkyer Heights and go to Marios to get my Pizza now. The guys behind the counter are always nice to !! You wont be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I got pizza from here tonight and it was pretty good. We got a large mushroom pie($ 18.50). It was a little pricey and the mushrooms were not fresh… they looked and tasted like canned mushrooms. The plus side was the pizza was really big! Almost too big for the box. There are better and cheaper pizza places in this area. This one is just average.

Pretty straight forward, no bullshit, Brooklyn style pizzeria. When I came in, they didnt have any pizza with fancy toppings, just a regular pie, square pie, and calzones. I got 2 regular slices and a can of soda for under $ 6. it was a damn fine regular slice. The sauce, the size, the crust, everything was to my liking. conveniently located by the D and N trains. Definitely check this place out!

They have much room for improvement Dough is good, Sauce too acidic, And cheap cheese No fountain soda, that’s a huge no no for a pizzeria, when will all these places learn you need to have a good fountain soda with a fresh slice Gave 2 instead of 3 because I would return if I was hungry in the area, but would probably just go for the dollar slices from 7⁄11 around the corner

Great greasy no nonsense pizza. The slices are huge, the toppings are generous and the service is great. No complaints. I always make it a point to visit when I’m in the area. Nom nom

This pizza place been here for a really long time. Never tried it till recently. It is an old school joint. They are a little further for me since I have a pizza place right at my corner but think I will be getting my pizza from here instead. Ordered a large pie to go. They are about $ 3 more compared to my corner place, but well worth it. It was prepared quickly and tasted really fresh and good. Decent amount of tomato sauce but just a tiny bit too much cheese. Will be coming back in the near future

The plain slices were fresh and very flavorful, although messier than average. Bill de Blasio would prefer a fork here. The chicken part of the chicken parm was nothing special but the sauce and cheese were good. In theory if you’ve traveled this far for pizza you might keep going for something five-starrish, but Mario’s has quick service, late hours and a location near the N and D train stops.

This place has been in the neighborhood for as long as i have lived here. The pizza is delicious and like no other. It is always cooked to perfection and never disappoints. The service is superb and i’m always treated like family there. Would definitely recommend! This place is cash only!

While visiting Brooklyn, I usually go to DiFara for Dom’s legendary pizza. However he was closed down for the Easter holiday and we actually gave up on the idea of pizza on this trip but seeing Mario’s Pizza open on the corner as we made our way to the Verrazano-Narrows, we stopped for a slice. The place was a little run down but that is usually a harbinger of good pizza. We got four slices and a few drinks which set us back $ 11 — cash only. The slices were a typical good corner slice, the kind you would be happy to have in your neighborhood. The crust was thin and crispy but held up under a copious amount of cheese and spicy sauce. I’ve had a lot worse slices than the one I got at Mario’s, that’s for sure! Also, major points for them letting me use the restroom. With a two hour drive back to Philly, it was very important and very nice of the guy.

The place is run down but it kind fof makes you relaize that they have been around for a while. They are a good spot to grab a slice when walking home from the Dekalb station. I always get plain slices but they are always really good.

This is one of my favorite, as well as my partner’s favorite, pizza joints in Brooklyn. For a regular slice at a price of $ 2.25, you will not be disappointed! The cheese tastes delicious. There is something about the cheese that makes me want to eat an extra slice all of the time. Also, the beef patty with cheese is delicious too!

If I allowed nostalgia to dictate my reviews, I would have given Mario’s five stars. Such as the time I looked across the street from Mario’s and realized that Burger King used to be a fruit stand and Dunkin’ Donuts used to be an Italian supermarket. Womppp womppp… I was standing there looking around at the place realizing it hadn’t changed one bit since I was a kid. In a way, I think that might be a good thing. Anyway, my friend was begging me to order from Domino’s parlaying that their so-called«new and improved» pizza was«SOOOOO» good, but I wasn’t having any of it. Truth be told, I moved back to Brooklyn over a year ago and still hadn’t returned to Mario’s, so the choice was simple. It’s basically your good old fashioned Brooklyn corner slice joint, replete with Italian religious icons and inoperable Christmas lights just for fun. I ordered a spinach calzone which was very good(not haute cuisine, but for the price, very good) and my friend ordered a couple of slices which looked familiarly large and saucy. Overall, perfectly passable and that’s exactly what life in Bensonhurst is.

Yay for Chicken Parm sub(er, hero… sorry, I’m from Massachusetts, but hey, the guy behind the counter understood me.) At Mario’s they are made all fresh and melty and delicious. I crave chicken parm at least once a month and this funny little neighborhood pizza and hero joint will whip one up for you extra fast and full of yum. It’s nothing much to look at — but earns extra bonus points for being open at 8pm on Easter Sunday when seemingly the whole neighborhood was shut down for the night.
