I remember when this place was a Vietnamese spot. Try had good food but of course they clearaNce then a few places have come and gone but this spot has lasted a few years now. It’s one of those Chinese/Mexican spots. That’s natural because Mexico and China are geographically so close. You know the deal neither food tastes authentic but you know what you’re getting and its usually pretty cheap. Had a Hunan chicken lunch special. Not particularly spicy but the chicken didn’t have that spongy feel, the rice was ok and I got a free Fuse so for 5 bucks I won’t complain. They have a lot of tables for a takeout spot.

I try all the Chinese restaurants in my area, looking for that really good one… This one is not it. I ordered take out and picked it up. When I opened everything up, to my suprise… THEYDIDN’T GIVEMEWHITERICE!!! (It’s supposed to come with the meal) This already ruined the meal, because I had to make my own and the food got cold. I don’t know what kind of beef they use in the beef and mushroom, but it wasn’t good. I suggest they use a better quality beef. The roast pork lo mein wasn’t very good either. I also got some appitizers that were too small(littlest egg roll I ever seen) and the shrimp toast was VERY greasy. The General Tso’s chicken was good, but that was it. I ordered a few more things, but they’re not worth mentioning. There are alot of better places within a few blocks from here, I suggest you should try them. There was a really good Vietnamese place here years ago… I wish the would have stayed. MYADVICE: Don’t waste your time and money here.

I order a beef broccoli last night but what they give me is dark color pork with broccoli. I know lot of chinese restaurant want to be cheap that why they use pork for beef and marinate with soy sauce for a long time so the pork can get a dark color. Since it marinated for so long not much people can taste the different but when I order the food, you already knew I’m chinese and I really want to tell you«I EATCHINESEFOODEVERYDAY» so who you try to trick? And I order a shrimp toast that is like swimming in the oil.

This particular location on 18th avenue in Bensonhurst has gone through many changes over the years. They have been everything from basic Chinese to Vietnamese to Sushi. Now they seem to have settled in as” Tong Xing/New Taco,” a chinese/tex mex hybrid. I really enjoy the new look, the new owners have made the place look pretty inside and you can call it a full service restaurant because they have a nice amount of tables to dine in and large tables for big groups. They still have your typical go-to affordable lunch specials. I like their broccoli and garlic sauce lunch special which comes with a choice of soup or an egg roll for just over 5 bucks. I have yet to try the tex mex yet but i plan on checking it out in the near future. They have plenty of options that a standard«fast food» chinese joint wouldn’t have like frog legs and different types of desserts and slushies. They have a nice TV in the corner that adds to the atmosphere too, i like the new approach and i look forward to going here again.

Some people think I give out stars like water, but I only rate the places I like! This place is great. It has possibly the best lunch special in all of Brooklyn. For $ 5 you get a choice of soup, an entrée and a choice of white rice or pork fried rice. All for under $ 5! It does take time to have them cook the food, but who’s complaining. I rather them take a bit longer than to have it ready for me in 2 minutes(somethings going on). The person in charge is always friendly, and will do whatever needs to be done to ensure that you’re having a good time and that you’re enjoying your meal. Honestly, for $ 5, you really can’t go wrong. No complaints here. I hope it’s around for a long time.

This used to be a Viet/Chinese restaurant but has undergone construction and is now a Chinese/HK style restaurant. It’s looks clean and modern, and they serve bubble tea(which I didn’t try yet).ordered the Gen. Tso chicken and beef chow fun with gravy. two of my fave take-out dishes but they managed to RUINIT. The Gen. Tso was heavily HEAVILY breaded and as succulent as it looked(red, saucy, and plump) I barely tasted the sauce. guess the red was just food coloring? The beef chow fun w/gravy was awful. the noodles were obviously frozen and quickly tossed around in the wok because they were sticking in clumps. Very oily and also tasteless. Bad neighborhood spot.
