Great location close to the Lorimer L stop. I got an appointment very fast and did not have to wait when I arrived. The staff was very nice. The doctor gave me a brief overview of what has to be done, he also was friendly. They charged less than they had announced for consultation and x-​rays, which was really great. I might not get my root canal done here, but that is because my foreign insurance might refer me to a doctor of their choice in the city to lower the costs — not because I would not recommend this place. Overall, I saw for the first time what Americans have to pay for non-​cosmetic, necessary treatment and was shocked.

Dr. Heller and this office is the most technologically advanced I’ve ever been to. Being a tech geek myself I thoroughly enjoyed being able to see gadgets and gizmos being used on me. Other than that the service was on fleek! Very accommodating super professional and chill. Love my new dentist!

All I can say is I am happy I came across this office, and met Dr. Helller. He is extremely personable and knowledgable. I have never felt so comfortable with a dentist before.
I had been seeing my old dentist in the area for the last 10+ years, but recently had begun having some problems, and went to metropolitan to get a second opinion. Dr. Heller took a detailed medical/​dental history, and some new xrays for me. After going over my treatment plan with the doctor, it was apparent that there was alot more options for me then I had discussed with my old dentist. My former dentist is closer to retirement which makes me weary about if he know about all the new modern options I learned about with Dr. Heller. His office is clean and up to date. Its easy to make appointments through the website so I didn’t even need to call.
If you area looking for a clean modern office with a younger intelligent dentist, I would stop in here.

I went here after not having been to the dentist for a few years and I was pleasantly surprised. This place is super clean and modern. Located in Williamsburg this office is really convenient for me which is a big plus. I was a little hesitant at first because I haven’t seen a dentist in a while but Dr. Heller was awesome and made me feel really comfortable.
Dr. Heller took his time to explain everything that I needed done and answer all my questions. I will admit going to the dentist is not my favorite thing to do but I really don’t think this could have went any better. The doctor explained that a lot of work like some crown can be done in office which will save me a ton of time in the future.
If you are looking for a new, modern dentist that has the newest technology in a clean aesthetic environment this place is for you.

Dr. Heller is not just a dentist, he is THE DENTIST! He is professional, caring, and well spoken. The minute you step into his practice, you are presented with a polite staff that make you feel comfortable. From the moment I was greeted with his staff, I knew this was the place for me.
His practice provides a modern yet serene ambience with the paintings and lighting in his practice. The floors are spotless, the chairs are comfortable, and the facilities are fancy.
I’m a dentist and Dr. Heller is my dentist that I go for dental care. Since I’m in this profession, I just don’t let anyone work in my mouth because I have seen what dentists can do and trust me Dr. Heller is the real deal. Dr. Heller is wiser beyond his years in his profession. I realize what it takes to become a good dentist and Dr. Heller is a GREAT dentist. He is more skilled than many of his peers and keeps striving to get better. I’m honestly not just saying this as a dentist but I have to give credit when credit is due. For example, he was able to make my tooth numb effortlessly without me even feeling synch of pain.
He has if not the most modern practice than one of the most modern practices I have ever been to! He knows how to make his patient feel comfortable by letting me sit on his dental chair with a built in massage setting and allowed me to watch NETFLIX while he was working in my mouth. He also uses a device called ISODRY which actually keeps my mouth comfortably open for him with a builtin suction so I don’t have to have those claustrophobic rubber dental dams.
Besides the patient experience, his practice also offers modern dentistry that has changed for the best in our era. This includes not only technology like digital X-​rays but also intraoral scanners and a CAD/​CAM machine that make crowns/​onlays on the same day. No more impressions that make me gag in my mouth and I don’t have to wait for my crown because it was made the same day. Dr. Heller also uses a laser which makes removing any gum tissue painless and caused less bleeding. I must say at first I was intimidated but he made me feel very relaxed.
Above everything, what I can truly say that makes me appreciate Dr. Heller is his honesty and diligence. As soon as he took a look at my xrays, he also took photos of my mouth. He actually showed what my tooth looked like in my mouth and why he proposed to treat it with a crown. He took pictures during his work and after it was completed. He showed me the work he did from start to finish from his camera and that is something I appreciate the most! Not many dentists are willing to show their patients their work to their patients but thats what make Dr. Heller special. His honesty and his modest attitude toward his work made me feel like this is the dentist I want to strive to be. Dr. Heller is truly an amazing talented healthcare provider and will be successful for many years to come. Honestly, being a dentist I can be a tough patient and Dr. Heller was absolutely amazing. If that does not speak volumes, then I don’t know what will.

I just visited Metropolitan Dental Arts for the first time for a teeth cleaning/​check up. The hygienist Janelle was incredibly friendly and did a great job with minimal pain that you would normally experience at other dental practices. The office is really nice so I felt very comfortable with the quality of care. Dr. Heller then examined my teeth and he did a great job explaining everything. I will be firing my current dentist and hiring Metropolitan, so I would highly recommend them for anyone looking for a reliable practice.
Oh and you should 100% ignore that 1 star review below. It’s completely absurd and clearly someone who has personal issues.

Just started using Dr. Heller, I’ve gone for two exams and cleanings. He is very professional. I was taken on schedule. He didn’t push any additional work. I highly recommend him! He’s new office is very nice, modern and clean. Dr. Heller, is a pleasure to deal with.

Beware of this place. They are trying to rip you off and tell you that you need things you don’t need and they will even tell you that insurance will cover it (or part of it) when your insurance DOESN’T cover it!!!
For instance, I needed new plastic retainers and I was a new patient so they very nicely suggested that I come in for a cleaning and xrays first before doing the retainer molds. I immediately told her that it hadn’t been 6 months since my last cleaning so I wasn’t sure if my insurance would cover another one so soon. She very nicely said that she would call my insurance to double check because it might be 2 cleanings in 12 months and she would make sure it would be covered. Guess what — NOT covered! This is also my fault because I trusted them and thought they would follow through on their word. That’s $ 110 out of my pocket and I pay for dental insurance.
During my appointment, I didn’t notice until I looked back on things, they were trying to sell me so hard on how «awesome» the dentist is and if I «ever need any work done» that he was the guy to go to. They kept saying things like this to me. It was over the top and strange.
Also, after the cleaning, the nice dentist, did his evaluation on my teeth and then quickly told me I needed ALL of this work done on my old fillings and that I had to wait until all of that work was done to do the retainer molds. I was so confused because I went to my previous dentist for over 6 years religiously every 6 months and they had been watching a few spots but I had just been there 4 months ago and they didn’t request all of this work to be done. (The reason I switched dentists was because I moved to a new part of the city. Needless to say, I will go out of my way now to return to my old dentist).
So, I was caught off guard by all of this «work» that needed to be done. I went to their front desk and was given the treatment plan with expected costs showing what they thought my insurance would pay. Guess what — all WRONG!
Then, they were pressuring me so hard to make all of these appointments with them! I left there feeling extremely stressed out and taken advantage of.
Immediately, I called my previous dentist and said I wanted a second opinion and to get my retainer molds. They got me in right away and I showed them Dr. Heller’s treatment plan for me with the costs. To be fair, there was 1 tooth that had changed enough in the past 4 months that needed to be dealt with, but NOT in the sense that Dr. Heller suggested. Everything they suggested on my treatment plan — my insurance did not cover. It was all wrong information. If I would have gone through with them, I would have gotten billed thousands of dollars!!! I can’t even imagine. My old dentist knew exactly how to code things so that my insurance would cover as much as possible.
And then to tell me that I had to wait to get my retainer molds until all of this other work was done — they were trying to GUARANTEE that I would get all of the (unnecessary) work done with them before getting the retainers done. And the time sensitivity of getting the retainers done (so my teeth don’t move more) was My old dentist said that was insane. There was no need to wait because even with partial crowns, the shape of my teeth wouldn’t change where my retainers wouldn’t fit. Unbelievable.
Before my appointment with them, I overheard the person «checking out» in front of me while I was in the waiting room, they were also pressuring them to make appointments and sign up for their own «insurance» plan to cover 20% of the costs or something.
I just feel very taken advantage of in this office. Don’t be fooled by the fancy, new technology and clean office. They are trying to make money off of you and rip you off. Be cautious with them. Don’t believe everything they say. They are money hungry. I won’t be going back.
I would like to add one thing that I forgot… the ONLY good part about my experience there was the lady who cleaned my teeth and took the xrays (I don’t remember her name). She was extremely good and funny to talk to. But she was also the one who was selling me hardcore on their dentist practice. I would like to see her work in a more ethical practice because it doesn’t seem right that she works here.
Update 11÷13÷15: I just received my bill in the mail for the cleaning from Metropolitan Dental Arts for $ 110. I’d like to know what they want me to do with this since I refuse to pay it because their receptionist guaranteed that she would contact my insurance and make sure that the cleaning would be covered since it hadn’t been 6 months yet. I’d like to volunteer that she pay for it. Maybe this will be a lesson to be ethical with your patients.

Let’s just say I haven’t been to the dentist in a long time. Like a really really long time. Let’s also say that I have, not necessarily a phobia, but more like an aversion, to the whole let’s poke and scrape and dig inside your mouth with really sharp pointy tools thing. So I put it off and then my teeth started feeling funky and I put it off some more and then started hemming and hawing about making an appointment and finding a dentist. Anyway, finally I looked up dentists in Williamsburg and won the lottery by finding Dr. Heller and his incredible staff.
Everyone was sweet and funny and sensitive to the fact that I hadn’t had dental care in quite a while, but without making me feel like a freak. Every procedure every step of the way was explained to me, and my comfort was the absolute most important thing, at least that’s how it felt to me. From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out two hours later everyone was great and an incredible team of professionals who obviously really care about their patients. If you’ve been putting off going to the dentist for a while trust me and just head straight over to Metropolitan Dental Arts, they’ll sort you out, give you a game plan, and you’ll walk out with a (much cleaner) smile.

Dr. Heller is the man; he and his staff did a great job with my teeth. They were running a $ 99 special so I went in to get an X-​ray and cleaning and was glad I did. His assistant was thorough in cleaning my teeth and super friendly. He did a nice job summarizing the findings and recommending some actions. Check-​in is on iPads. Whole place is immaculate and leaves you feeling good. All in all I’d recommend to anyone.

I’m so impressed with this dental practice. Dr. Heller and his staff are so welcoming and friendly. It makes visiting the dentist a pleasure rather than something scary. Dr. Heller was very clear with how he wanted to improve my dental health. I appreciated his honesty and I completely trust his opinion. And that was only after one visit! I highly recommend this practice! (AND YOU CAN WATCH NETFLIX DURING YOUR VISIT!!)

I found my first visit to Dr. Heller to be a great experience. He and his staff are extremely friendly and informative when it comes to dentistry. The office space is brand new and immaculate with state of the art equipment and Dr. Heller and his staff are amazing. I had five fillings replaced on Saturday and the procedure went so smoothly — I was thoroughly impressed. Dr. Heller is a dentist who truly cares about his patients. He goes above and beyond the industry norm.

Dr. Heller was amazing! They don’t open up until 10 am but he saw me at 9:30 because I had an emergency. His practice is state of the art! The staff was amazing, and couldn’t have made me feel more comfortable. If you’re looking for a dentist, he is the man!

I’ve been going to Dr. Heller for years and have been consistently impressed. Dr. Heller and his staff are very friendly, and they’re always quick to get you in the dentist’s chair. Also, they recently moved to a GORGEOUS new office which is top of the line.

Dr. Heller was quick, precise, and thorough. I have been to him 3 times and I have never had to wait long in the waiting room, and the staff have always been very professional. But, I think the thing that impresses me most about Dr. Heller, and it’s the reason I was compelled to leave him a review, is that he has a sensitivity and awareness about his patient’s concerns that is uncommon. He took the time to show me why he was recommending the treatment he was suggesting; he answered my questions in a thoughtful and intelligent manner, and gave a level of service that even included answering questions that were clearly more administrative in nature, i. e insurance and scheduling questions.
