The office is not willing to bother taking my insurance information on the phone to verify my insurance coverage. I have a individual health plan that will pay the claim for my visit, but unless i can fax over my card, they will not verify my insurance. I don’t have a fax, & they won’t take my info on the phone. When did doctor’s offices become so unfriendly towards patients?

I was charged $ 200 for an office visit and $ 425 for«surgery», which consisted of Dr Weiss looking up my nose with a light for about 5 seconds. They then listed this charge as «surgery» when they filed the insurance claim. Of course with a huge deductible I have to pay it out of pocket. They claim I signed a permission form for an endoscopy. I did sign some form, but there was certainly nothing actually done that I would call even close to being an endoscopy. I’m having my insurance company investigate.

Dr. Weiss is a top notch ENT doctor. He helped me with a chronic illness with careful examination. He doesn’t skirt around anything and tells it like it is which i love, and he’s not the kind of doctor that looks at you once and says«great let’s set up surgery.» He will go through every possible avenue to AVOID surgery and only make the recommendation when there’s no other option. I eventually needed surgery for a deviated septum and it was a life changer, i no longer have the chronic illness in my nasal cavity and it even helped eased my snoring a bit. He works out of two locations, one in Bay Ridge and another up the block from Maimonides hospital in Boro Park. Both locations are insanely busy and it’s very hard to find parking in the Boro Park location. The staff at the Boro Park location are very friendly and work hard with a mob of people at all times. The waiting room area is small but packed in with seats so it’s pretty tight. If you need an ENT Dr. Weiss is one of the best. He performed the surgery himself at Maimonides and will put you at ease through the whole process. The last thing he said to me before i went under in the operating room was«so how about those METS.» Great guy, great doctor, great choice.

Dr. Weiss has been thorough and caring in his examinations, has spent an appropriate amount of time, and has listened well. One situation called for surgery, which was a total success with a normal recovery. Weiss’ office staff are professional and efficient. My family has also seen a couple of his associates at times and had similar good experiences.
