I originally went to the bar because of the good reviews on Unilocal.I was over charged twice on both occasions that I visited. Prices are listed on the board but the bartender chose 2 double them had to call him out both times would not recommend this place to anybody.

Sort of a random fun little spot. You know you’re in for a good time when the workers at the bar are looking pretty darn hungover. At the time we stopped in, things were running behind and they still hadn’t opened up yet. Bartender let us in anyway and even comped us a drink! She was very cool and chatted to us about random stuff(turns out she’s a Brooklyn born and raised). The setup is kind of strange, they have this cushions on benches thing going, and weird tables made of blocks. But drinks are cheap and service is friendly, so I can let that slide.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon, and they were still trying to open up. Looked like everyone working there had a long and very drunk night, which means that this is where you go for a good time. Bartender was a straight up Brooklyn gal(my people!). She was funny but also super apologetic about the state of the bar. But they had beer and were playing music, so everything was a-okay. They have free WiFi too, which drew a few other people in. The seating on the sides are kind of weird, makeshift cushions atop wood boxes, so don’t expect too much of a loungey feel. But I don’t think they’re going for that anyway.

thank god for mirrors. where else can you get $ 1 pbrs, $ 3 mixed-drinks, $ 2 shots alllll the time? the bartenders are super friendly and laid-back, if there’s a game scheduled it’s on one of the two big tvs, and the most delicious greasy pizza(3 luigis) is directly across the street. oh and super fun music. sometimes wish the credit card limit was lower than $ 20, but only in the morning when we realize it wasn’t a challenge and we could have just bought more expensive drinks.

Mirrors rocks! Especially on old skool Wednesday’s with DJ Smooth C making it happen on turntables! Did I mention that whoever guesses songs correctly earns free shots? Gotta luv it!

my friends, they are delightful. while we were drinking ice cold $ 1 pbrs at mirrors on grand, they decided to argue who would get credit for deciding to come to said bar in my Unilocal review. you know what andy and natalie? you are both right. you both decided to come here! and neither of you clogged the toilet.

Mirrors has a lot of potential. One of the best happy hours in the neighborhood –even on Sundays, competent bartenders, decent beer on tap, good sounds, nice décor and friendly neighbors gathered around the bar. I see for some odd reason, Mirrors is categorized in the«$$$» price range. This is definitely off as I’ve found prices to be average to below average compared to other spots in the area. I know that on occasion you can find djs spinning here. It’d be a good spot for live music too. Since Mirrors is still relatively new to the block, it will be interesting to see how things shape up here in coming months. Meanwhile, you need to check it out.

Ladies first, please! Immediately following an open-mic poetry reading on the opposite street of Le Grand Dakar whose kitchen and bar were closed early at approx. 9:45pm ish. I was itching for either one drink and food, however, the night was getting late which my commute would linger for an eternity running local as oppose to express service. The outside of the restaurant’s signage was confusing to distort my preception as Mirrors on Grand were written backwards mimicking an effect of a mirror to distort the words. This lounge/night club has very ample ventilation system as one would feel comfortable without breaking a sweat from lack of oxygen unlike Le Grand Dakar. The space is airy with ample couches and stools at the bar despite of the very limited lightening to set the ambience. The bar does not have any hooks underneath for coats or hand bags upon sitting or leaning at the counter which is inconvenient. I came here with my belove poet lover for one drink as I desired something different than my usual Cosmopolitan, Sangria, wine, Sex on the Beach, Martini, etc., which I’m assuming most young bar tenders are not knowledgeable in cocktail drinks. However, no worries… I knew exactly the standard response«What’s that?» which this free-spirited Canto Chigga given a copy of Charles Schumann’s «American Bar» for the receipe of a Ladies Sidecar 1984 to the bar tender. I made the female bar tender happy as I let her keep a copy of the page from Charles Schumann’s «American Bar» for future patron requests. The result of the drink was a loud encore to the ending of a open-mic poetry performers. N.B. Three days later on a Saturday morning, my poet husband divorced me in a private message via Facebook with the standard constructive abandonment: «you’re a great girl, but not for me.» This dude whose doubles my age in the double digit years lacks tact as he is NOT man enough in respect to ethics and professionalism to say this directly to my face? One Ladies Sidecar for my first taste and I was in love with it becoming an addiction whereas, the hope for my ex-poet lover has eradicated to oblivion. Oooh… I am now in the mood for«Between the Sheets» to wash away the numerous rejections on a Friday night. Ladies first to slide in, please!

Mirrors will not be your destination bar, but definitely a great place to start or end your night. Classy atmosphere and super-friendly staff. If I am in the area or picking a bar to meet some friends at before we head out, this is a great choice.
